A really disappointing stay and extremely expensive for what it was. If you don't have children don't stay here, there were so many children and mainly just catered for young families. Which is fine but the images don't portray this and before booking it looked quite lux and as if it would be for couples even. The room was worse than basic, with dust and old furniture, marks on the bed and a dodgy working door. The place was ruled by wasps, which isn't a direct fault of the place but I've stayed in places where this has been dealt with better, you couldn't sit down without 4/5 wasps swarming you.
The worst part of it all was the staff and customer service, we arrived and our room wasn't ready so we had to put our luggage in storage. We came back at the time it was available to get the key and was a good walk to our room which was in a different building and got to our room to find our luggage hadn't been put in our room (our luggage was the only ones in the storage so it wasn't like they were overrun). After thinking it would be quite unreasonable to have to walk all the way back and back to the room again and retrieve it ourselves we rang to ask for it to be dropped to rectify their error, to be told "no, we are too busy with check ins". Not 'we're busy right now but can bring it in half an hour', just a no. Feeling quite infuriated with this service I immediately went over to get the suitcases, it had been 5 minutes since I called and they said they were swamped to walk past reception and not one person was there. The person behind the counter looked everywhere but at me when I dragged the bags past her. I have a back problem and my mum is older so I didn't let her come get them but I had to drag two suitcases over gravel and deal with it myself due to their unhelpfulness. 4 star hotel? I think not.
We were late for breakfast but could go for the late breakfast that was supposed to be viennoiseries and fruit.
The viennoiseries were good, but the fruit were plain bananas and apples and there was no milk for the coffee, only creamer.
That was quite disappointing.
Fantastisk al inclusive. Många aktiviteter att välja på som ingick. Väldigt fina gemensamma utrymmen.
Lite slitet rum med dålig ventilation.
Beautiful setting and stunning grounds
The pillows
The good was AMAZING and the place was beautiful
The bed was uncomfortable. They join 2 individual beds to make one big, it’s uncomfortable to sleep there as a couple.
The building itself was very interesting and certainly special. The gardens were lovely to walk in.
The spa pool was warm, the hamman hot and the rain shower delightful.
For a chateau experience it felt more like a holiday camp so lacked the “specialness” I was expecting for the cost of one nights stay. Our room was not in the chateau itself, was adequate but hot.
The equipment for the available activities was of poor quality.
We were very disappointed by the quality of the food, all you can eat buffet, especially as there was nothing provided as main meals for vegetarians despite contacting the hotel prior to booking.
It was a very pleasant stay after a busy week in Paris! The bulk of the guests seemed to be younger French families (unlike touristy Paris), the food and drink (all inclusive) was wonderful.
The actual grounds of the chateau were small, but appropriate for families with younger children.
A beautiful old building in a lovely rural setting. Our room was modern and clean in a building outside the old chateau.
The interior of the château was a disappointment - poorly furnished and understaffed. The food in the restaurant was quite good but was a buffet rather than table service, on cold plates and very limited menu.
