Loved this spot! Super nice staff!
Amazing
Incredible and friendly staff! We arrived bit early to check in and they allowed us to check in early and they also held our bags for us after we checked out while we were still staying in St Tropez. They have parking for cars which was great bc we had rented a car. The room was very clean and so cute. Only thing is there are some stairs to the room which you obviously have to bring your suitcase up but someone from the staff helped us to bring up all the suitcases. Really fantastic time.
Beautiful location, beautiful grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Gran hotel. Cerca de la zona turística. Áreas comunes muy buenas y tranquilas.
The staff was absolutely wonderful, I could not have asked for more wonderful people during our stay. The pool, bar and garden area are quaint and peaceful. The bar is great with the perfect selection of wines and liquor. The food menu is limited but offerings are very yummy!
The uber into St. Tropez is ~€20 depending on time of day and takes about 10-15 minutes. Walking takes about -45 minutes. We ventured to a small beach area just down the hill from the hotel one morning, a 5-10 minute walk.
Breakfast each morning is a classic European offerings with pastries, espresso, fruit, crepes and eggs.
Our room was all we needed! Updated furnishings, updated bathrooms, air conditioning, comfortable pillows (more firm) and beds.
Extremely Disappointing Stay at Hôtel Capucines, Saint‑Tropez — Completely Overpriced and Misleading
Our experience at Hôtel Capucines in Saint‑Tropez was far below expectations and absolutely not worth the high price. While it’s advertised as a 4-star hotel, what we encountered was more in line with a 2- or low 3-star property — at best.
No Flexibility for Travel Disruptions
Due to a national air traffic controller strike in France, our flight was delayed, and we missed the first three nights of our reservation. Despite this being completely outside our control, and despite providing proof, the hotel refused to issue any refund or compensation. There was no understanding, no flexibility, and frankly, no customer care.
Extremely Rude and Unhelpful Staff
When we arrived with a child and several heavy bags, the front desk refused to help with our luggage. One receptionist was outright rude and said, “We can’t carry your luggage — either do it yourself or find someone else.” That’s not just poor service — it’s a complete lack of basic hospitality.
Stairs Inside the Room
One of the rooms had a long internal staircase, which was not mentioned during booking. It was extremely inconvenient and unsafe, especially with a child. No elevator access to the room made the stay even more uncomfortable.
False Advertising — Not a Junior Suite
We booked Junior Suites, but what we received was basically a standard, outdated bedroom. There was nothing “suite-like” about it. If this is how the Junior Suite looks, I can’t imagine how poor the basic rooms must be. The category is completely misleading.
Poor Hygiene & Maintenance
One of the first things we noticed was a spider on the bed. That alone is unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one charging luxury rates. The rooms are also outdated, poorly maintained, and in urgent need of renovation.
No Water in Rooms After Cleaning
Housekeeping did not replace water bottles, and when we asked, we were told to go to reception to collect water ourselves. At this level of hotel, that’s simply unacceptable.
Limited & Insensitive Breakfast
Breakfast was minimal and disappointing. Worse, the hotel served ham and eggs in the same hot dish, with no separation. This is completely inconsiderate for guests who do not eat pork or prefer vegetarian options. No effort was made to accommodate dietary needs.
Terrible Value for Money
We paid nearly €21,700 for two rooms — an amount you’d expect to pay at a world-class 5-star resort. In fact, we stayed in a real 5-star hotel during the same trip for the same price, and the experience there was on an entirely different level. Hôtel Capucines did not come close.
Final Verdict:
Hôtel Capucines is dramatically overpriced, falsely advertised, and run without care or professionalism. The service is rude, the rooms are subpar, and the amenities are lacking. We strongly advise anyone considering this hotel in Saint‑Tropez to look elsewhere — your money and peace of mind deserve better.
Fantastic place, wonderful breakfast, great location, very affordable for the area. Upscale restaurant right across the street. Fabulous pool & very nice guests/vibe 👍
Everyone was super kind, the service is good. Hotel is not. Room is old, our TV fell down one night. Its just very plain and simple.
Staff were great. Amazing location if you have a car, just outside St Tropez, easy access to Grimaud, Gassin and beaches. Our room was lovely and we will be back for each anniversary!
Total Scam – Avoid This Hotel at All Costs!
We booked a room here for 200 euros a night to celebrate New Year’s in Saint-Tropez, and it was the worst decision ever. Let us save you the disappointment: don’t waste your time or money on this place.
The room is NOTHING like the photos. It’s tiny, claustrophobic, and the bathroom is so small it’s practically unusable.
The view? A direct look at the garbage dump. Truly unacceptable.
The bed? Don’t believe “double bed” – it’s just two single mattresses pushed together with a giant hole in the middle. Completely ridiculous.
Now let’s talk about the staff:
On December 31, the male receptionist at least acknowledged my complaints and promised to “handle it.” But on January 1, the manager – a clueless and unhelpful woman – told us we’d need to pay more to upgrade. She didn’t care at all about the false advertising and gave us the lame excuse that “not all photos can be uploaded online.” Honestly, insulting.
We came to Saint-Tropez based on a friend’s recommendation, but this hotel destroyed the experience. Paying 200 euros for this disaster feels like daylight robbery. If you value your money and sanity, stay far away from this scam.
One star is generous – this hotel deserves NONE.
P.S. The construction work started at 7-8 AM, waking us up better than any alarm clock. This hotel is a mistake on par with a cheap roadside motel.
Staff was very helpful. Property was about a 5 min drive to St. Tropez.
