La Bastide De Tourtour & Spa Hôtel

Tourtour is a very special place in the VAR region. It’s hidden on top of a hill with amazing views that stretch for miles. The sunrise and sunset’s will forever be remembered. The Hotel is perfect in every way. With less than 30 rooms is allows the staff to interact with the guests and make them feel welcomed at every turn. The diners are amazing with a menu that changes each night and the breakfast is perfect in every way. We can’t wait to come back.

Una bellissima struttura alle porte (5m a piedi) di un paesino suggestivo quale è Tourtour, circondata da campagna e tanta vegetazione. Una struttura che per bellezza, servizi e disponibilità e cortesia dello staff della reception suggerisco vivamente!
Però c’è stato un piccolo disguido.. un ospite indesiderato al ristorante! Per ben 2 sere su 2 un topolino di campagna… la seconda sera la presenza è stata praticamente continuativa a bordo terrazza esterna tanto che abbiamo dovuto cambiare tavolo e farci posizionare all’interno. Siamo stati anche irrisi dallo staff del ristorante, in testa il maitre, per il ribrezzo di mia moglie e la richiesta di spostamento… si vede che li sono abituati a conviverci ma a cena, anche no.. un topo, seppur piccolo e di campagna. che gira indisturbato per la sala, ai margini o meno, è un qualcosa di assurdo.. Invece, per gli addetti alla sala e gli altri ospiti che lo avevano notato, sembrava decisamente la norma. Salviamo giusto 1 giovane cameriere che pazientemente e professionalmente ci ha assistito per i cambi tavolo.

We booked a Superior Room for a four-night stay. We knew that the room (Room 25) did not have a balcony or a view but we told that it had a private terrace/garden.

What we were not told is that this room is essentially an annexe to the main hotel which is configured specifically for disabled guests. It cannot be accessed from the hotel at all, only by walking around to the rear of the hotel down a steeply sloping drive adjacent to a car parking area.

The room is located next to the hotel laundry so staff were often to be seen (and heard) pushing large trolleys of laundry past the terrace.

The room area consists of a very large bedroom with a sitting room and a huge bathroom. Unfortunately the decor and furnishings are very spartan to say the least - more befitting a dentist's waiting room than a "Superior" room at a Luxury Hotel and Spa.

The three chairs in the sitting room are very upright and not comfortable.

There was just a single small chest of drawers - in the sitting room! - and a cupboard containing a safe and a single shelf - nowhere near enough storage space for a couple staying four nights. There is a wardrobe in the bedroom area but that contains a fridge - if you turn on the fridge then your clothes get very hot very quickly!

The air conditioning unit did not work and as the apprtment is on the ground floor it was impossible to leave any windows open as there are none - just full-length glazed French Windows. The temperature was in the high 30s centrigrade which made the appartment very uncomfortable - especially as we had to close the curtains at night to give us some privacy from people walking past.

The bathroom, although huge, is very badly laid out. The double sink is very low - for wheelchair users - which is not ideal for two non-disabled people of nearly 6ft. There was just a single small towel rail and one shelf under a mirror on a side wall - far from ideal.

The reception staff were not very helpful, telling us the hotel was fully booked so we could take it or leave it - which is precisely what we did. Having driven 1,000km to get there we left after just two nights.

The restaurant was very pleasant and the restaurant staff were charming.

If you go there avoid Room 25.

C’était un merveilleux séjour.

L’après midi de notre arrivé on a bien profité du spa, avant de nous balader au village de tourtour (5 min à pied du bastide) pour prendre un verre.

Nous avons pris la demi pension qui franchement valait le coup, donc le soir on a dîné à l’hôtel et on a commandé ce qu’on a désiré pour le petit déjeuner lendemain, qui nous a été livré à la chambre pour profiter de la vue du balcon.

Nous reviendrons avec plaisir pour nous échapper de la Côte d’Azur

Très bel hôtel, spa magnifique et intimiste. Ouvert de 9h30 à 19h (dommage que ce ne soit pas plus pour les belles journées de printemps et été) literie de bonne qualité chambre agréable personnel au petit soin

Beautiful and well maintained location. Great room and fantastic views.
Walking into the restaurant for dinner creates expectations, but these are not met in any way. Unfortunately not an address for gourmets or fine dining and the service was cool and not dedicated.

What a great find ! Prime location , beautiful property, excellent service , delicious meals , fantastic views … and last but certainly not the least , excellent service and a most delightful staff !

Attractive room, beautiful view.
Couldn’t seem to find a coffee machine in the room. This was the only downside.
The room cleanliness was excellent, service was efficient and pleasant.
The location of the hotel, a few minutes walk from the beautiful village of Tourtour, with fabulous, far reaching Southerly view, is fantastic

My partner and I recently stayed at La Bastide, and it was truly a magical experience! We chose this hotel because we wanted a peaceful escape from the city, and its location was perfect—nestled close to attractions like the Gorges du Verdon while still feeling remote.

The views from the hotel were absolutely breathtaking. We booked the Prestige room with the spa package. Our room overlooked the mountains and it was such a treat watching the sunrise and sunset from our balcony.

The staff was warm and attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. La Bastide is the ideal retreat for anyone seeking relaxation, views, and quality time.

This is a magnificent property and the owners and their team are doing everything they can to please you. We were 2 couple for 3 nights and had an extremely pleasant stay. Everything from food to property cleanliness is top. Add to this the welcoming warmth of the whole team and this made our stay perfect. Thank you Marc and Chantal !!!

An absolutely fantastic hotel and location. I would highly recommend this hotel to all. The scenery is magnificent and the village of Tourtour provides some much history to the area. Definitely a must visit when driving through Provence!
