Nice stay with great breakfast
Pros:

Stayed here 4 nights while on a Vacations by Rail tour. I had a single room and was traveling with my parents who had a double room that could be unlocked as an adjoining room. The rooms were clean and sufficient. Some rooms have balconies, but ours did not. There was a mini fridge with complimentary water, safe, coffee maker, TV.

The dinners were not that exciting that were predetermined for our group. Would have rather dined out, but that was part of the group package. The soups and desserts were pretty tasty, but the main courses did not wow. The final night was a beef roast and it was overcooked to the point that it got very dry even when covered with gravy. The rosti raclette dish was soggy and raclette cheese wasn't special. Shrimp cocktail salad tasted fine but weird with baby shrimp.

The best thing about the food was the breakfast spread - lots to choose from. We enjoyed a spritz at the bar one evening.

The staff was all friendly and welcoming. There is an elevator in the lobby.

We’ll be back!
Pros:

Staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service in all areas, including restaurant, front office and housekeeping. We expected dinner to be good, but the kitchen and service staff exceeded our expectations. Breakfast is good too. The Ambassador is our new go-to hotel in Brig, and we look forward to our next visit!

Appalling Welcome
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel as part of a group travelling with Great Rail Journeys.

This hotel unfortunately did not meet a standard for the very reason  that our party was greeted in a very rude and inappropriate manner. This unfortunately coloured my whole opinion of the hotel. The receptionist who greeted us on our 1st night was rude and patronising, this individual should not be working in hospitality and certainly not front of house. She indicated that she knew she was being rude and implied that it was because she was of German nationality. I have met many Germans (having recently completed a tour across German cities) and whilst they are a direct speaking nation they are immaculately polite and never rude.

Our room was clean, but airless without air conditioning it was impossible to get cool. I attach a photo of our bathroom in particular the toilet, the area  was exceptionally small and it was difficult to fit in and we are slim people.

Reading other posts the hotel has apparently recently been refurbished the breakfast /dining room was well decorated but the rest of the decor was dated and poor .

The one positive was the food in particular the evening meal. Which was well presented, well balanced and tasty.

Would I stay at this hotel again? No  and this is fundamentally because that one particular member of staff was so rude.

Small hotel with a 5 star dinner
Pros:

A very nice, clean and quiet hotel just a 10 minute walk from the train station. Bedding was very comfortable, bathroom a bit tight but to be expected. Dinner was one of the finest meals I have had in a long time so make sure you eat there. The innkeeper was very friendly and we had a nice chat about many interesting things. Breakfast buffet was outstanding

Pros:

I booked this for an overnight stay for our journey to Italy the next morning. The hotel has a great location by the train station, very clean and quiet. The dinner was excellent, one of the best in a long time. Excellent presentation, flavor and portions. Very much enjoyed our conversation with the owner.

Ideal for a week's holiday
Pros:

We stayed at the Hotel Ambassador for seven nights while on holiday in Switzerland. Reception was welcoming, and the luggage which we had sent in advance had been placed in our room. It was a superior room, with two comfortable beds pushed together and sufficient wardrobe space to store our clothes. Facilities included a large TV with some English channels (once we worked out how to find them!) and a coffee machine (which also made tea). We felt the bathroom was a little small for a superior room, especially the shower cubicle where we kept knocking our elbows on the walls. Otherwise the room suited us fine and we slept well.
Breakfast was a self service buffet as expected. There was a good selection of cereals, pastries, fruit etc, with tea/coffee making facilities and a cold drinks machine. There was a limited hot food option, this being bacon and scrambled or boiled egg. The tiling on the walls was attractive, and depicted historic scenes of the railways in the area.
We did not try the restaurant for evening meals - although the menu was very enticing we were able to find cheaper meals in the town.
Reception was not continuously manned, and although there was a button to press for attention, this was quite high up on an adjacent wall and neither of us saw it until it was pointed out to us. A notice on the counter directing guests to this would have been useful.
We found it a very useful base for our holiday. It is just five minutes from the rail and bus stations, from where you can reach places such as Zermatt, Bern and Interlaken direct by train in a little over an hour. WE would recommend this hotel and would certainly use it again.

Fantastic food and service. Great hotel.
Pros:

We stayed here for 4 nights in April as part of our Great Railway Journeys tour. The hotel is very attractive and in a really good location with an easy stroll into the centre and a few minutes walk to the station. It's really well managed with simple, immaculately clean and perfectly equipped rooms including fridge and coffee machine. We had a small balcony with chairs and table which was a nice addition in the lovely sunny weather. The highlight was the food. Breakfast was really good - the best we've had for a long time and our evening meals were outstanding. The staff are very welcoming and we felt really cared for by Colin who recently joined the team to support groups like ours. Excellent stay.

Ambassador est emprunt d'amour
Pros:

Metci!

Beautiful spotlessly clean hotel with Swiss charm...
Pros:

Loved this hotel. We stayed a night as part of a self- organised Glacier Express trip. They clearly care about their guests as we received a call earlier that day to check roughly what time we'd arrive.
Less than five minutes flat walk from the station - so so convenient. Five minutes stroll from the town centre, so great for that too. A pretty and historic building, inside and out, with attractive dining spaces. Extremely efficient and welcoming staff from start to finish. The entire hotel - room/ dining/ breakfast/ reception areas and even the shared toilets near the restaurant were beyond spotlessly clean - positively gleaming!
We had a junior suite - the photos hadn't done it justice; it was far nicer than we had expected. Very spacious and they seemed to have thought of everything. The shower was fun - I may have led a sheltered life, but it had a hose function, an overhead function and jets that came at you from the sides - rather like being in a car wash! Would love one at home!! Room toiletries had a lovely pine scent. Extremely comfy bed and pillows. Slippers/ bath robes. Fridge. Safe.
I loved breakfast, which was served in their lovely dining room with the decorated walls. We ate out the previous evening, so it was nice to have an opportunity to use this room. Very fresh fruit salad. Great chilled machine juice. Great machine coffee selection. Scrambled egg and bacon as the hot option. Good selection of cold meats/ smoked salmon. Toast and pastries - all lovely and frequently topped up. Would loved to have stayed longer. Not the cheapest, but not much in Switzerland is... Highly recommend.

Another stay in Brig
Pros:

Always a great experience. Clean rooms with good amenities and a nice breakfast in the morning. Have seen various tour groups staying over my last several visits as well which indicates they are getting more well known. Although I did not eat here this time, the restaurant is excellent.
