Location staff and the bed
Breakfast was awful no facilities for making hot drinks in the room, milk for tea was terrible. No toast . Breakfast was stale
Meine Tochter fühlte sich wie eine Prinzessin 👸 Außerordentlich freundliches Personal. Sehr gutes Frühstück, toller Kaffee.
Nichts
I loved this hotel. It makes you feel like you're in medieval Venice with the fabric wall coverings, the huge breakfast hall, the winding stairs and halls. And, it has a beautiful garden. I loved the location, right on the canal and a bit set off the beaten track. And the staff were so friendly and helpful. I loved it and will 100% be going back. Thank you!
Nothing :)
Very charming and old
The ac was not effective and it was very hot.
A nice 14th century set hotel with afternoon tea and coffee on arrival. Bed was very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was excellent with the availability of eggless croissants and good coffee.
No staff to take our bags or a lift to go to the room which was on the first floor. It was very difficult to find. The address given takes you to another place using Google maps. The shower is in a bath so it's very narrow and has accessibility issues.
The staff, breakfast, historical vibe & decor--all great! The location is in the middle of a residential neighborhood on sort of a side street so it was very quiet, but also pretty central--very close to the Ca' D'Oro stop. I recommend this place if you value peace and quiet.
This is just transportation advice--nothing against the hotel. From the airport, if you're not spending money on a private taxi directly to the hotel's gate on the canal, and you don't want to carry your luggage over a few canal bridges, be sure to go to the Ca' D'Oro ACTV stop. It may require an extra transfer (bus from the airport + water bus) compared to just 1 Alilaguna boat to Fondamenta Nove, but the walk from Ca' D'Oro is short, flat and easy, and the bus + vaporetto will probably not cost you any additional time or money, especially if you're going to buy a pass for the vaporetto during your stay.
We loved everything about this hotel, from the first glimpse of the lovely garden to the abundance of history and beautiful decor. We were welcomed so warmly and made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. All of the staff were so attentive and caring and took the time to remember it was my partner’s birthday the next day and brought him cake and prosecco for breakfast to the lovely little table overlooking the canal, it will remain a special memory.
We booked the ground floor room with some trepidation not knowing what to expect but we loved the quirkiness of the room and the great much needed air conditioning, although when offered an upgrade to a lovely authentic suite we of course accepted. It was stunning.
Breakfast is simple good food and more than enough to set you up for a day of sightseeing. On return from 4-6pm there is a complimentary afternoon tea with pastries to enjoy after much walking.
The location was perfect for us, 2 mins from the Vaporetto, lots of shops, restaurants and local bars 1 minute away. In the opposite direction 5 mins to the water stop for Murano and Burano.
We will definitely be back hopefully soon.
The hotel is exquisitely decorated in a way that represents how it would look in the 14th century. The staff are incredibly friendly, very helpful and the facilities available are grateful for a quiet stay in Venice the garden one of 11 we realized is very peaceful and a fantastic place to have breakfast arriving by boat to the entrance of the hotel is a fantastic way to arrive and highly recommended.
Breakfast options are limited or beer that it’s a small kitchen and hotel. There is only a room fan to cool the room when it’s hot but considering it’s a 14 century building, this is understandable.
There are a number of guest deals or hotel deals that I discovered on our final day which looked more attractive financially than the ones we ended up paying for I didn’t feel that the hotel did enough to advertise these
breakfast was great and we sat in the courtyard, very nice. Wonderful location and great room overlooking the canal.
