Tres propre .proprietaire adorable
Een leuk, authentiek gebouw met oorspronkelijke details. Een goed ontbijt. Geschikt voor een langer verblijf. Geen eetgelegeheden in de directe omgeving. Eigenaar spreekt Engels.
Room was nice.
Opportunities to use hot tub were pretty slim.
There is no laundry service here or anywhere in town, however.
THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY IN THIS REMARKABLE IS VERY SPECIAL. THE HISTORIC AND INTERESTING BUILDINGS THE DELIGHTFUL GROUNDS AND GARDENS A SUPER OPPORTUNITY
THIS HOTEL IS SOMETHING FAR FRIM THE MADDING CROWD VERY COMFORTABLE VERY UP TO DATE IN A CHIC WAY AND SPOTLESS THE CHARMING HOST AND HIS WIFE THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTINITY TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE WONDERFUL ATMOSPHERE AND THE DELICIOUS BREAKFAST REFLECTING SO MANY LOCALLY SOURCED FOODS JUST A LOVELY EXPERIENCE ENTIRELY THANKS TO THE DELIGHTFUL CHARMING AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM WHO RUN THIS GREAT PLACE NOTHING IS TOO MUCH FOR THEM
Charming hotel. Room lovely and comfortable.
A very comfortable place to stay and the owner was always very welcoming and helpful.
Beautifully converted winery, with good decor. Our host was very friendly and hekpful, especially as we arrived New Year's Eve. He booked us into the only restaurant in town. An excellent meal.
lovely quiet hotel, beautifully refurbished.Owner speaks good English and is most obliging.Room air-conditioned and very comfy bed.Great breakfast.
One night visit, would have loved another night here - very comfortable & relaxing. Lovely gardens, peaceful & scenic.
Very friendly owner, beautiful location and grounds, clean and comfortable room in historic building, good breakfast, tea/coffee and bottled water in rooms
I was in 2 minds about posting a review because I wanted to keep this place a secret, it was that good. However, the owner, Philipe was such a good host that it was only right to submit a review. Accom is a converted wine press which has been done to a very high standard. Rooms are full of character, beams etc and decoration is very tastefully done and immaculate. Unique breakfast experience with the tables in huge wine barrels. Large grounds full of fruit trees and tables & chairs to sit outside. Will definately return if we are in the area again.
If you are visiting the Loire Valley then we would recommend this hotel. It is classified as 3 star but quite honestly it was better than the 4 Star hotels we stayed at during our trip.
Phillipe is the most perfect host and we lacked for nothing.
Allow Phillipe to advise on places to visit and places to eat you will not be disappointed
We would not have found Montreuil-Bellay and Chateau Breze if it had not been for him
We were traveling from Brittany to a village near Angouleme and decided to try for a stay over in the Loire Valley region. After finding Le Chai de la Paleine in a search for hotels near Saumur we decided to book based on other reviews. It was even better than expected. We enjoy a mix of high end hotels, boutique hotels, and self catering depending on the trip. This was somewhere between boutique and self-catering. The welcome we received when we arrived in the evening got us off on exactly the right foot and 10 minutes after dropping our bags off in our room we were walking the garden with a glass of wine and relaxing in the early evening sun. There is a nice restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel and Le Puy-Notre-Dame is a great jumping off point to visit nearby sites and towns. Granted, there isn't much going on in the evening but if you just want to relax, have a nice (and very inexpensive) meal in the evening and then set out to explore the surrounding sites in the morning this is an excellent choice. Comfortable, very friendly, and inexpensive. There is a nice kitchen open to the guests and as many other reviewers have mentioned, the "emergency bar". We will be back to stay again...
A fantastic warm and friendly welcome. The hotel impressed from the first sighting through to the last. The staff team were superb and the breakfast in the barrels was a wonderful memory. Great value for money. This was the first night of our holiday in France and was a great start.
Nice place to stay, highly recommended, central loacated to explore Loire Valley, wine regions and visit chateaux. Hotel host very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was a little difficult to find but the satnav helped us. It is an old converted building retaining most of its original features. The decor etc is first class as are the staff. If we had more time there we could have visited lots of interesting places. On the recommendation of the hotelier we went to the one and only local restaurant, which was excellent. Would certainly stay there again if we are in the area. We liked the honesty kitchen where you can help yourself to drinks and they bill you at the end of the stay. Also the facility is there to make yourselves a snack etc.
We only stayed here 2 nights because of other travel commitments but we shall definitely return here for a longer stay. The rooms are housed in the Chateau outbuildings and are of a very high standard, the garden is large and very peaceful with a secure parking area. We were greeted by the owners who are extremely friendly and helpful, they advised us of local restaurants and places to visit. The hotel only provides breakfast, the homemade yoghurts and preserves are fabulous, with a small shared kitchen where guests can heat evening meals, however, the local restaurant they recommend is only a short walk away and serves excellent quality, and value, evening meals. The Chateau is located in the centre of a beautiful village and is an ideal base for visiting the many attractions of the Loire valley. We visited the Chateau Villandry, fantastic ornamental flower and vegetable gardens, and the Bouvet Wine cellars in Saumur (fine champagne wines in all but name, and price).
A hotel we can thoroughly recommend
