Our stay at Stratos house was the perfect start to our time in Paphos. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Elena was so kind and welcoming. We experienced true Cypriot hospitality and a little slice of village life.
You will need a car to get there and to visit around the area. There's plenty to keep all tastes happy, from chilling beaches, traditional villages, hiking, and bustling cities nearby.
Super clean lovely and very friendly environment!!!
Excellent service, very clean, lovely people
Stratos House was a very cool and unique place to stay. It was kind of like having a little art home in the village. The owners are lovely and people around the village are very helpful. Would stay again!
Great experience in an unusual property with lots of character. Amazing breakfast and host. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was great and would stay again. Not ideal for families as no pool etc but perfect for a couple who want to stay somewhere a little different.
Wow! Where do I start? Perhaps with the history of this home, this village and this country? Maybe, I should start with the wonderful room that welcomed us and made us feel so very welcome and cool in the ancient rock walls? A mention should be made of the wonderful atmosphere of the dinner in the village square, with a village red wine and marvellous local foods. Surely, I would be remiss if I forget to mention the magnificent food that our fantastic hosts, Giorgio and Helena, prepared for us every morning.
To sum it all up, we did not want to leave and now, three days later, still want to go back. Truly a case of one day is too good, and one more is never enough...
A massive thank you to Helena and Giorgio, you made our holiday so very special
The house is very nice and the decoration is really interesting and inviting. The owners are very welcoming and breakfast is fulfilling. The owners definitely make sure all guests will have the best stay possible. The only thing is that the bathroom inside the room was very (very) small. The village where the hotel is located at is safe and clean, but if you are a vegetarian and like eating at local restaurants, you might have a hard time finding variety in the surrounding area. The house is definitely a great option for travelers, specially for couples.
Very special hosts, special hotel and special village. Best place I've ever stayed
Thank you Ellana for an amazing stay your House is wonderful and your hospitality is great. Would recommand you to all my clients travelling to Cyprus.
Loved the house will all its features, cleaness and Ellanas dellicious breakfast i wish i stayed there longer than two nights.
Loved our suite which has a small kitchen and dinig area and then a bedroom with an ensuite.
Ellana gave us tips on what to do and where to go around the area especially to small secluded beaches which were beautiful.
I stayed 1 week in this amazing and cosy hotel in a nice and quite area of Cyprus. Giorgio and Elena are absolutely fantastic and made my stay a truly unforgettable experience. The breakfast was super and homemade, the room and kitchen are really well decorated and looked after in every details. Everyday I was gifted with sweets in my room. Really appreciated and brought smile to my face. The area is quite and relaxing. I felt like at home surrounded by amazing people. The owners are fantastic in every way and very sweet. I recommend this hotel. Thank you Giorgio and Elena you have been amazing and wish you all the best.
We were humbled by the generous hospitality of the owner/operators Elena and George. Each day we found home made sweets in our room, which was cleaned daily. True Cypriot hospitality.
Peaceful village and house has a amazing location. It was easy to find and a good option of food restaurants nearby in the square. The beech was hardly 10 mins max by car which also had a good collection of restaurants specialising in fish and other sea food. Elena and Giorgio were really helpful and advised us about all the best places to see on the entire island. The highlight of the stay was the comfortable bed which had a profile mattress topper for the best sleep. I would definitely visit again.
This was a gorgeous guesthouse, best place we stayed in Cyprus. Owners served us wonderful breakfasts and made us very welcome. They gave clear directions on how to find them and where to park (for free). Nespresso machine, Korres toiletries and a four poster bed were the icing on the cake!
We had a wonderful week's stay at Stratos House Hotel. The hotel was charming, being an old building with a communal courtyard and under cover area in a friendly village. There were many items of interest in the communal area as well as in our apartment. We stayed in the only first floor apartment 'Amogio Superior Suite' which had a small private terrace where we were able to sit outside for breakfast every morning despite being in November. We had a 4-poster bed which was very comfortable and although we did not cook, had the facilities to do so if we had wished. For us, the little touches made it such a pleasure, for example the wicker laundry basket in the bathroom, the box of tissues and bowls of sweets, peanuts, fresh fruit, cakes, wine and water left for us when we arrived as well as delicious dishes left for us on our return a couple of times during the week. However, the main reason that we enjoyed it so much was Elena and Giorgio. From the moment we arrived they ensured that we were comfortable. Sitting down with them and a glass of home-made lemonade and biscuits they gave us suggestions of where to go and what to see which was extremely helpful. Every morning they served up delicious breakfasts, different for us both as I don't eat cheese. With two savoury courses and two sweets (amazing sheep's yogurt), fruit juice and Cypriot coffee we did not need any lunch. Their aim was to ensure that we relaxed and enjoyed the island and they certainly achieved this.
A very warm welcome from the owners, Giorgio and Elena. We chose to stay here based on the fantastic value and amazing reviews we read on Tripadvisor. The location is central and we could access Larnaca, Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos from here. Staying in a guesthouse in a village was a wonderful experience as it allowed us to see Cypriot culture and everyday life. The owners were fantastic with arranging a taxi driver/guide (Mr Polydoras) for us who took us out everyday for a reasonable price. What a wonderful gentleman and he taught us a lot about life in Cyprus. We chose to have breakfast and everyday was a different treat with a chance to try some traditional food. The room we stayed in was lovely and clean albeit on the cosy side. The guesthouse has a lovely courtyard to sit in full of quirky knick knacks. There is also a veranda/balcony to enjoy breakfast. Overall, a lovely stay made all the more special by staying at Stratos.
Just returned from a wonderful stay in The Stratos Art Deco House in Kalavasos, Cyprus.Warm welcome with local goodies. Accommodation beautifully decorated and furnished in traditional style. breakfast amazing and lasted us all day! Highly recommended. Jen and Sol
Our stay at Stratos was beyond belief and our expectations! The place was sooo beautiful from our stay in the 1 bedroom to the lounging area to the location. Elena who welcomed us so warmly was the nicest and loveliest persom you could ever meeg. You can tell she has lovingly decorated the apartments/house as everything was perfect and the smaller details taken care of. Everything was super clean and so pretty! She gave us so many treats in our room and fridge as well which we didn't expect. We paid for the breakfast seeing as the reviews were great but even the reviews did not fully prepare us for the delicious fresh breakfasts we got each morning! Our eyes were popping out of our heads as we got such generous delicious amounts so you have to include this in your stay or miss out! Let's just say without giving too much away that I could not eat everything so took away to put in our fridge for lunch or snack later which saved money actually. I could say so much more about the finer details but don't want to ruin any surprises for anyone.
Elena was so sweet, caring, helpful and wonderful from start to end so I will tell everyone if you truly want the best of Cypriot hospitality and to be surrounded by beauty then stay at Stratos with breakfast included which was more than great value...a steal I say! You will fall in love for sure just like we did ;)
I cannot thank Elena enough and we hope to see her again one day <3
A fantastic short stay.
Service, accommodation and location for a village was great!
Highly recommend this.
EXCELLENT!
You will receive a great welcome and attentive service. All the rooms are very well arranged and there is everything available for your comfort. All the usual facilities, wi fi, television, air conditioning plus a very relaxing atmosphere. A very generous breakfast is supplied as well.I can highly recommend The Art Deco house as a good base to visit Larnaca,Limassol, Lefkara and many lovely villages in the area as well as a beach holiday base. Eleni and George are also very knowledgeable about what interesting places there are to visit.
Lovely B&B in a lovely old house, varied breakfast and wonderful host in Elena. The house has three rooms off a partially covered courtyard and a large suite upstairs. One room with a double bed and two twins and kitchen was very nice; we moved to a smaller room for one night which is very small but all well equipped. Due to the house bathrooms are tiny and light sleepers are advised to take ear plugs for birds and eye patches as it gets light early with no black out curtains.
