Aqua Natura Bay

Our experience was so positive and our stay so refreshing! We highly recommend the island especially Point Moniz and the Aqua Natura Bay hotel options. If you book in a timely fashion you will most definitely find the right fit and enjoy marvelous display of huge waves crashing on the rocks - simply beautiful. This is to be sure the Hawaii of Europe.

We arrive at the hotel early but the room was already available which was perfect. We did the check in, the women were very friendly and nice. After that we just enjoyed everything abou the hotel. Everyone was very nice, the food was amasing and the view just perfect.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of variety on the buffet. Staff were fabulous. Porto Moniz is a great location to spend a few days.

My experience in Madeira was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The hotel's location was perfect, with stunning views of the sea and the natural surroundings.

The food was exceptional, with typical Madeiran dishes and a variety of international options. The service was attentive and friendly, always willing to help and make recommendations.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, with all the necessary amenities. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with anything I needed.

What I liked most was the tranquility and natural beauty of the island. Madeira is a perfect destination to relax and enjoy nature.

Wonderful sea view from the room. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the staff makes dinner even more wonderful. We loved the welcome at reception, they are very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back. 😎

We were delighted with our stay. The hotel is wonderful, with stunning sea views and a very welcoming atmosphere. They offer welcome drinks on arrival and a bottle of sparkling wine is waiting for you in your room. Breakfast was one of the highlights, with a wide variety of choices, and Osvaldo’s waffles, always made with a smile, are simply irresistible ! 😊
At reception, Monica was extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with great enthusiasm and excellent suggestions on thousands of things to do.
The natural pools are free if you get tickets at the hotel reception.
At check-out, they even gave us a jar of homemade jam!
We felt very welcomed.

Clean hotel with nice spa area and great views of the bay. We found it a bit overpriced compared to hotels in Funchal. Breakfast was of good quality.

We loved everything: the spacious room, ocean view, thick bathrobes and beach towels, espresso coffee machine, excellent breakfast. The original natural pools are just across the street. The indoor swimming pool was also great! Roof-top sunning area and infinity pool also nice.

Given that they have ignored multiple emails, I have no choice but to contact them via review … as stated in my email I would have preferred not to write a public review, but this is what happens when they don’t respond to customers……

Email: We stayed 23rd-28th August and paid around €1,600.

We booked the hotel via booking.com and paid upfront on a non-redundable basis. We were then told after booking about the Semana Do Mar festival which would overlap with our stay. We were disappointed about this because we wanted a quiet and restful trip, not a festival. Given that the booking was non-refundable, we thought we would have to accept this.

One reason we chose the hotel was because free parking was advertised and we had rented a car, and it was important to us to have parking included in the price of our stay.

Due to the festival, we could not park at the hotel at any point, and we incurred around €100 to park in the public car park. I do not feel that this is acceptable, and more should have been done to make us aware that parking may not have been possible.

Also, I have since checked the price for a stay during the time where the festival is not on, and the cost appears to be almost half of the price we paid! When I booked and saw the price, I had no knowledge of the festival, and based on the photos online and the good reviews, I thought that we were paying for a hotel which was worth £280 a night.

I feel that we have paid a premium for the festival which we did not know about nor wanted to partake in.

I also think that the photos online are misleading as the view we had was not as good as I expected (I.e the views were of a small car park and helicopter pad), and the decor was more dated than the photos imply (black grout around the bathtub).

I have never paid more per night in a hotel, but was willing to pay based on positive reviews, attractive views on the photos, car parking, and expectation of a quiet and restful stay. Overall we were disappointed and feel like we have paid much more money than our stay was worth, and have had much better experiences elsewhere at 5* luxury hotels for a lower price.

Despite our overall disappointment, I would like to compliment the friendliness of the staff who were very hardworking and polite and when I expressed disappointment at the parking situation, the lady we dealt with seemed sympathetic and tried to help me to find a space, but without success.

Great stay

We have enjoy this Hotel very much. Everything was perfect, from the check in ( Welcome drink ) to the check out ( Homemade sweet ). It was a perffect stay and we have enjoy everything. Thank you very much for 3 amasing days.
