Santa Cruz Village Hotel

We stayed one night before our very early flight home to Edinburgh. The hotel was great, the staff lovely and very helpful. Santa Cruz is also a nice village and we wished we’d stayed a little longer. We had the afternoon, walked around the village a bit, chilled in the pool. They booked a taxi for us which was on the meter so not over priced and provided a takeaway breakfast.

The hotel is lovely, comfortable, nice decor, lovely personnel. The dining room served a lovely breakfast. We had a rather bad experience at dinner. Staff were excellent. The manager of the dining room was not. Unfortunately, it spoiled our evening.

The hotel was a fabulous place to stay, right in the centre of the village, close to the airport and to bus stop to allow for trip to Funchal and then on to elsewhere on the island. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, breakfast was amazing, can’t find fault with anything

Second visit to Madeira, first visit to this hotel. 5 minute transfer was a good start. Room was spacious with a comfy bed, fridge, tea & coffee making facilities. Walk in shower was excellent. Toiletries were replenished daily. Breakfast was generally good but some of the hot food items were cold. Coffee was fab. Evening meal was a la carte, enjoyable and served by two lovely girls who were always very nice and welcoming. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Santa Cruz village is quaint and pretty with a nice promenade. The church near the hotel is worth a visit, lovely inside

We really enjoyed our stay at Santa Cruz Village Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, housekeeping visited each morning and were very respectful of belongings. All of the staff were so attentive and helpful, they were brilliant with our children. The reception staff are so knowledgeable and helped us to plan our visits to the places we wanted to see. The bus stop is right outside with regular buses to Funchal and Machico.

Breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of fruit, meats and cheeses, bread, pastries, yoghurt, cereals and cooked items. Our favourite item was the delicious orange cake which we miss dearly!

The location is perfect for Santa Cruz itself with an easy stroll into town and to the beach front. There is a supermarket right next door and a range of restaurants within a few minutes to the main square. The water park is walkable along the promenade which our children enjoyed.

A fantastic visit, the staff at this hotel deserve high praise as they made our first visit to Madeira amazing!

Rooms are clean and comfortable; breakfast is very good….; Includes all the important amenities for a comfortable stay…! Location is very close to the airport and also to great tourist attractions…. Santa Cruz itself is already an attractive small town with a breathtaking ocean front

This was our second visit this year. A small village hotel located in the centre of the resort and quite near the the airport. The hotel was just perfect for us. Our room had a sea view and great balcony where we could sit to read and drink a glass of wine in the evening. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom roomy and modern. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was fabulous and the restaurant had a great outdoor area. Although we went in November and March, the pool was great and we swam on both holidays. Can't wait to return.

We returned for our seventh or eighth visit to Santa Cruz Village Hotel, like the village of Santa Cruz itself, we find it extremely friendly and covers all our needs. The hotel sits above the village and is within meters of the local bus stops to Funchal, etc., also very handy for the airport.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel and on both occasions everything has been perfect for us.

Customer service was excellent. All staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Breakfasts were good and we often ate in the courtyard area, our room was comfortable with nice views over the sea. The location is just above the main square and near to good bars and restaurants. There is a regular bus service to funchal and Machico. It had everything we wanted.

We paid for a superior room and booked last summer and got this. When we went to reception and complained we were told that the hotel was full and that they couldn’t change our room. I couldn’t have been more upset, the end to our holiday was ruined by this hotel. The bed mattress was cheap and so springy it was so basic. The hotel was clean but it smelt really strongly of a very overpowering air freshener.it was so strong I felt sick. You tell me, does this room look like a superior room they have advertised? I don’t think so. This is a basic hotel and I would be very careful if you book this hotel!!!! I am so upset I have put in a formal complaint to Travel Republic who we booked it through.

This is a fantastic hotel, spotless, superb friendly staff, good sized rooms, excellent food quality in the restaurant, easy walking distance to center of Santa Cruz. Outside areas well cared for. the only negative was heating within the room, could not get it warm enough.

Loved everything from the room to all the staff

Great weeks stay. Breakfast was large and lots of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. There was a bus stop one minute away to get to the city or other areas and very efficient and reasonable. They run quite late. there is an express bus to Funchal that misses all the little stops that is worth knowing about as it's only 20 minutes. Pool was clean, although not heated so couldn't utilise it as much as I had hoped to, although I imagine most of the year it's not needed. Great views of the planes too. Would highly recommend.

I quite enjoyed my stay at the Santa Cruz Village Hotel. The room was spacious and clean and I especially liked the the walk-in shower in the bathroom. Breakfast had decent choices and the one night I ate dinner there, the food was also quite tasty. Itˋs located only a two minute walk away from the beach.
The staff was great - friendly and helpful!

We stayed half board food was very good the chef was excellent

Chose this hotel from Jet2 website as they don't deter solo travellers. As an aviation enthusiast also wanted to be close to the airport. Friendly greeting from both guys on reception. Easy check-in. First floor room close to lift, no need to worry as didn't hear it at all. Easy access large room with double bed. Bathroom huge. Both well-decorated and clean. Small balcony overlooked courtyard garden. Excellent breakfast, great choice. Dinner menu limited but food excellent quality. Pool area clean but sunbeds a little tired. Good pool bar. Close proximity of elevated highway may put off some people! Only moan is size of hand towels. Size equated to guest towel in UK, so room for improvement there.

Op 5 min met taxi tot luchthaven.
Ondanks ligging toch rustig in kamer. Zeer gezellig dorpje om avond voor terugvlucht rond te lopen / te dineren.

Kamer ok, matras wel redelijk slecht.

Om 5am werd nog lekker ontbijt voorzien, top gedaan.
