Loved the Grand Canal setting and convenience, though the dated furnishings and service let it down
Pros:

Foscari Palace stood out for its amazing location right on the Grand Canal, where you can watch the boats glide past during breakfast or in the evenings. If you want to enjoy breakfast outside directly overlooking the canal, there’s an extra €10 charge, but the view makes it feel special. The hotel is extremely convenient, with vaporetto stops and even a gondola stop right outside, making it effortless to get around Venice. Despite being so central, it sits on a quiet little side street, just a minute from shops and restaurants. Inside, the hotel features beautiful traditional Venetian décor, with elegant paintings and classic details that give it real charm and character.

Cons:

While the hotel has charm, some aspects didn’t feel as clean or welcoming as expected. The traditional furnishings — heavy curtains, fabric headboards and older carpets — look atmospheric but clearly aren’t washed or dry‑cleaned between guests. Our headboard had visible marks and even some hair, which didn’t feel hygienic. The bathroom also had a bit of damp, and I needed to ask for the shower head and sinks to be cleaned more thoroughly.

Another downside was the reception staff, who often came across as unfriendly and not very welcoming. At times it even felt a bit rude or uninterested, which really affects the overall feeling of customer service.

Cons:

Kahvaltı çok basitti. Çalışanlar çok mesafeli ve soğuktu. Kahvaltı haricinde otelde su dahil hiçbir şey servis edilmiyor. Odamız mutfak ya da sevkiyat kısmının altında olduğu için sabah 5 de yukarıya yansıyan seslerle uyandık. Sabah kahvaltıyı balkonda yapmak için extra ücret ödedik. Her sabah için 10 Euro.

Friendly staff, very beautiful central location at the Canal Grande (with a small terrace at the water), Vaporetto waterbusstop around the corner and ferry to the Mercato next door
Lively local area, but still very quiet from the rooms

Cons:

Our room didn’t have a view, but windows directly to the building next to it (2mtrs)

Gute Lage am Canale Grande und der Vaporetto Station.

Cons:

Haus istgrundsätzlich OK, jedoch schon etwas abgewohnt und schlecht gewartet. Leider ist die an sich schöne Dachterrasse nur über die als Abstellfläche genutzte Zwischenterrasse erreichbar, nachts unbeleuchtet und somit nicht nutzbar. Die Mövenabwehrfäden hängen irgendwo herum und werden nicht repariert. Die Nutzung der kleinen Frühstückdterrasse direkt am Kanal wird nicht reserviert, wobei die zufällig mögliche Nutzung separat zu bezahlen ist. Gutes Frühstück wobei im gesamten betrachtet das Preis -, Leistungverhältnis nicht passt.

Prima Lage zum Fähranleger und zur belebten Einkaufsstraße. Nachts relativ ruhig. Zimmer groß

Cons:

Desinteressiertes und wenig freundliches Personal. Parkett abgenutzt, Sauberkeit in einigen Ecken, Haare vom Vorgänger am Föhn. Bohnenkaffee zum Frühstück nur auf Bestellung bei dem besagten Person, ansonsten Instantkaffee aus der Maschine.
