We spent two nights at Corona hotel. To begin with, the stairs that lead to the rooms are VERY steep and VERY narrow. That is to say that the steps themselves are small, maybe 3-4 inches wide. My foot only fit on it sideways, so, as one can imagine, taking a suitcase up the stairs where you have little purchase, and have to hold on to rails for balance is not idea. There is no elevator.
The staff are very pleasant and courteous. We were offered help to get our things up to the room, but eventually we managed ourselves. The room had high ceiling and a large window with light darkening curtains. There was no AC in the room. There were four beds made up in the room, even though we only needed a triple. I rolled up the bedding on the fourth bed and we used it for the suitcases. The room was not very large, but we had enough space for all of us. There was an electric incense plugged in the wall socket. I took it out, because the perfume was too heavy. After a while we started smelling plumbing from the bathroom…. I am guessing that the old building does not have good circulation in the plumbing department. We just kept the door to the bathroom closed the whole time and took quick showers. Everything in the room and the bathroom was very old and dated.
The bathroom was very small. When sitting on the toilet, my knees were pretty close to the door. The shower was very small as well. The shower head was at the top of the celling. I am an average height, but I had difficulty reaching it to adjust it, so it would point at me. It was not otherwise adjustable.
The internet in the hotel was good, with several networks to connect to. However, there were not a lot of plugs in the room. I always keep an extension cord with me when I travel, and I had full use of it, as there were not enough plugs for all of our chargeable equipment. There was no safe and no refrigerator. Moreover, when I asked for ice one of the evenings, I was advised that they did not have any, and the grocery store across the street was already closed, so we could not buy any ice either.
On Thursday evening after 8 pm, the town was pretty much deserted. All the stores and many of the restaurants were closed. However, on Thursday night, there was VERY LOUD live music at the bar across from the hotel. On Friday night, there was no live music, but the bar goers were very loud late into the night. We finally had to close the windows in order to get some sleep, even though the weather was hot and there was no AC.
We were able to find some free parking a couple of blocks away. The hotel does not have parking on premises. I believe they serve breakfast in the mornings for additional cost. We chose not to participate. It was an ok stay, we survived it, but I would not want to return to this particular hotel.
This hotel is the worst I Have ever visited! It was expensive and it smelled so bad like someone hae been smoking there for years ! My advice: do not go here if you do not want to live in a horror hotel. Disguisting!
The hotel was is a good location as it was close to my sons house. It is walking distance to food, shopping a other conveniences. Their website said something about breakfast but it was not available while we were there. The room was in a different building than the hotel office.
This small hotel was cheap to book but I found quality was matching.. I had a small, claustrophobic room with worn out furniture, old towels that had been washed a few times to many..
Breakfast was very basic, without, even, fruit.
Very basic apartments all mod cons cooker, microwave, fridge etc. Quite noisy as on main road breakfast at another hotel down the street very steep stairs difficult and dangerous with cases with free wifi
Bettwäsche war dreckig, toilette hatte sprenkel. Nie wieder!
My two friends and stopped here on a rather wet evening after following cycle route LF4 and got a trip room with breakfast for 108E which was excellent value. Room was spacious and clean with a typical breakfast and we were even treated to version of bacon and eggs.
So, we have choosed this hotel because the others were full in this weekend ... Too expensive comparated to services and rooms quality. Receptionist is not very well..... For sleep One night with friends i no suggest it for a good holiday.....
Hotel was much better than expected. It was comfortable and affordable price. Room is apartment type and enough spacious for group tourist. Around hotel, there are lots of restaurants, supermarkets etc so you can find and visit easily.
no good😠It is the worst apartment I have not been fooled by the photos you this badly I do not like
nice property with good stuffs.
The staff were attentive without being annoyingly nosey.
Checked in late, very quick considering the queue of flight attendants and pilots also queuing. Good room, good breakfast
Prior to our stay I had phoned the hotel to say that we would like a microwave in our room, it is offered if requested. It was a nice surprise to find that we had been given an apartment with all basic amenities including the microwave. On the whole it could all do with a good update but it was fine for one night. Parking is a problem as the hotel is on a very busy street and beware of steep stairs!
The interior is very old but clean.
We booked a double room and got a small apartment with kitchenette and bathroom.
The whole hotel smelled like chlorine which was annoying.
The reception is not always open you need to call a number.
All in all it was ok for one night but not longer
Have stayed at this hotel twice and find it very convenient for visiting family.
The only problem I had was with the WiFi other wise very spacious for a Dutch hotel and comfortable.
