Cons:

Rien… vraiment rien!

: A Masterclass in Laid-back Luxury on the Cilento Coast
Pros:

As a travel agent, I’ve been to many properties in Italy. If you are looking for understated elegance and a break from the crowds, this historical 17th-century gem is a dream. Nestled in a stunning coastal setting, the property offers a rare mix of private beach access, gorgeous gardens, and a pool area that is simply breathtaking.

The location on the Cilento Coast provides spectacular views of Amalfi and Capri, but with a much more peaceful, authentic vibe. The staff is incredibly attentive, and the food was delicious at every turn. A special thank you to the owner, Francesca, who (along with her adorable dogs!) made us feel so welcome and at home.

Pro-tips for visitors: Do not miss the charming village at the top of the hill.
Take a tour of the nearby Paestum ruins—they are an absolute must-see.

Highly recommended for anyone seeking true luxury without the pretension.

My June Trip that Made Me Fall in Amore with Palazzo Belmonte!
Pros:

We stayed at the incredible Palazzo Belmonte this past June, and I am still dreaming about this exquisite holiday on the Med! It truly is a remarkable place where relaxation and understated elegance meet. The historic beauty of the Palazzo made me feel at peaceful and at ease.

We spent our days at the pool and long walks on the beach. Every morning I took a long walk through their beautiful gardens and listened to the waves crash upon the beach. From the shore, you have stunning, clear view of the Amalfi Coast and Capri across the water!

The breakfast every morning was so delicious - I became a devoted fan of the wildflower honey! The salmon salad with crisp rose wine was my staple (a must-try!) For dinner we went to Osteria 1861, Francesca, the owner of Palazzo Belmonte made reservations for us! (Francesca is a brilliant host!) This Michelin-rated small restaurant on the water is just steps walk from the Palazzo gates. I also recommend the short taxi drive up to the mountain top to the visit the medieval town of Santa Maria di Castellabate for dinner; the vistas of the ocean looking out over the coast are simply breathtaking.

I loved every second of our time at Palazzo Belmonte! It’s more than a hotel; it’s a truly amazing experience!

The Pallazzo is a dream!
Pros:

The Palazzo is a dream, a step into real italian beauty and charm. I highly recommend for a short or long break - having the sea, beach and village, we had endless options for entertainment. Otherwise the pool, beach and garden of the hotel are perfect as they are - being family run, it has a feel that we miss so much in today's world.

A very special place
Pros:

We had a lovely week at Palazzo Belmonte. It was beautiful, peaceful, and quite quiet as not yet main tourist season and just what the doctor ordered. The staff were helpful and the grounds are magnificent. Lots of space for everyone without being cramped. We loved the beach and being walking distance from great local restaurants. Would highly recommend for rest and relaxation.

Great family holiday
Pros:

Went to stay with my family. The kids loved it, beautiful gardens to go and explore when not in the fabulous pool or on the beach. We had a very relaxing time, breakfast was delicious. Great place for some proper family time and a little bit of exploring. The staff could have been more helpful.

If you haven’t stayed at Palazzo Belmonte you should book immediately!
Pros:

Stunning location. A secret gem! We had a beautiful villa. Perfect for us & our two teenagers as it was spacious & beautifully decorated. We enjoyed some local sightseeing as well as hiring a boat for the day which took us to a lovely restaurant for lunch. The reception booked dinner in one of the local restaurants in the village for us every night which were good recommendations. We also met some lovely guests who have stayed friends with ever since!

Hidden gem on Cilento Coast
Pros:

Had the most wonderful relaxing long weekend staying with a group of friends in this most beautiful Palazzo. It's situated in the centre of the delightful seaside town of Santa Maria di Castellabate, right on the beach and within walking distance of lovely restaurants and bars. However, once within the beautiful well-kept grounds of the palazzo it is so quiet and peaceful you wouldn't know it!

The palazzo itself is stunning and full of history and character round every corner. Full of old-world charm. Our room was very clean and comfortable and beautifully furnished with antiques.

We loved the swimming pool area and the delightful terrace overlooking the sea where a delicious buffet breakfast (think freshly baked pastries, homemade jams and fruit compote) and lunch (the most delicious pasta and fresh mozzarella) is served. For supper, the hotel staff recommended several lovely restaurants in town which were fantastic - thank you! The staff were very friendly and looked after us extremely well.

This is such a special place in such a perfect location and would 100% recommend it to friends and family.

Fabulous!
Pros:

A bucolic paradise! Combining history, charm, good taste and wonderful friendly service. Superb breakfasts and lunches.
Stunning manicured grounds to walk/relax in. Beautiful private beach and a stunning peaceful pool area. All super relaxed. The village is a 5min walk, very pretty, authentic and plenty of good restaurants.
The fact that the Palazzo is family owned makes all the difference, their personal attention to client’s needs always with a smile.
I cannot recommend this hotel more highly and have booked in again for next year!

Wonderful min break !
Pros:

I rarely write reviews but felt the need to highlight what a wonderful stay I had with friends at Palazzo Belmonte in the Summer. A hotel that blends history, elegance and Mediterranean tranquility effortlessly.
The wonderful gardens that open onto sweeping views of the sea are honestly breathtaking and create a wonderful atmosphere to catch up with old friends. The staff are very attentive, friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was a highlight too with a delicious spread of freshly made pastries and home made jam ! not to mention the mouthwatering choices of food that were also offered at lunch - I could have chosen very happily everything on the menu!!
All in all this is a seriously fabulous place to stay and relax at, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean with good air conditioning and one could sit for hours just admiring the views out to the sea, the private beach and the lovely inviting large pool. One word ' GO' you will not be disappointed.

Perfection
Pros:

We went with family and friends.
The location is second to none. It’s basically the Amalfi coast without Amalfi prices… The hotel is steeped in historic grandeur and yet manages to stay low key simple elegant and comfortable. Huge swimming pool! Incredible sea views and lovely long sandy beaches and beautiful clear waters. The staff go out of their way to help with everything! From restaurant recommendations and bookings to taxis and hire cars and local excursions. You really feel taken care of. An absolute hidden gem…

Dolce Vita
Pros:

Wonderful Palazzo Belmonte located conveniently within seaside town but a secluded and private haven within ample grounds. Gorgeous bougainvillea tumbled down one side of the internal courtyard, lovely gardens and swimming pool area - all a stones throw down to the private beach. Carefully styled interiors and delicious meals. It was also convenient to explore area - particularly enjoyed the magnificent temples at Paestum. Hire a car if you are able but railway station and new airport are not far away. The staff were friendly and helpful in planning our trip. Highly recommend.

Handy for Paestum, a historic, quirky home with a private beach & gorgeous dogs!
Pros:

One of those little Italian secrets you think twice about sharing: a family-owned property with amazing mature grounds that feels very unspoilt. You can stay in the old palazzo rooms (some with utterly splendid views down the coast) or in the newer “villa”, where rooms also overlook the beach and sea; here, you can leave your windows open and fall asleep listening to the waves. The traditional iron beds look uncomfortable but are quite the opposite. There are some unexpectedly amazing restaurants within walking distance (Osteria 1861 and Bistro 1861 for example, which have wonderful service and tons of atmosphere), as well as in the old village of Castellabate up the mountain (eg. Cantina Belvedere).

Cons:

This is not the Propertys fault but we stayed in low season which meant the sun set at 6pm and there was no evening bar scene. It is totally fabulous in June and September, though.
