Great John Street Hotel

Great experience, impressive hotel, very friendly staff, great food and drink, comfortbale and clean rooms, will definitly look to return when next in the area. Thank you to all staff who made the stay great

Superb location, excellent staff who are very attentive, very clean and tidy with excellent character.

We had a fantastic day and night very much helped by all members of staff and their desire to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible. (Wedding was August 2019)

This hotel has to be the best in Manchester in my mind, the staff are very good attentive and like to make customers feel valued and happy. Sometime there is noise but its ok. Very nice bed that gives you good time to sleep. I like this place very clean.

The lunch was absolutely delicious and very reasonable. So good to have tasty fresh hot food delivered to tge door (with wine) in these dreadful times. We ordered early in the week to make sure we would be served. This us the second delicious lunch we have had delivered as well as tapas in the week.

A rare find to stay in a city hotel like this with individual charm but very modern on a large scale. When we visit manchester we normally stay in a Hilton or mercure where all the rooms are very much the same so this was a very nice touch. We really loved the main bar area too

We just had our wedding at GJS . From our first meeting with their wedding manager to the day of our marriage everything was fab.
Our special day was overshadowed by current world problems however the staff made our stay at the hotel and the wedding itself amazing and unforgettable.
The food at our wedding breakfast was gorgeous and all our guests loved it. Breakfast was lovely too.
We really recommend this hotel!

With uncertain times at the moment it would have been very easy to cancel our booking for this weekend. This was our 5th visit after getting married on the roof top 11 years ago so holds a special place in our hearts. So glad we decided to go and social distance in room 19 because the relaxing nature of the hotel with the luxurious little extras and always fabulous service from Tom, Steven and others meant we had a very special weekend. We will be back again when normality returns

I only stayed one night it their standard room which was very comfortable. Only complaints were that the cold water tap always ran luke warm water at the basin, the main door let the light in from the corridor and the one time I get a lie in midweek someone started hovering bashing the door at 8.15.

Otherwise all fine and the light bar menu better than I expected. Will return when in Manchester for work for sure

A team of us were up from London for a Meeting in
Manchester. Our original venue was closed at short notice due to the Corona Virus and the Great John Street hotel, where we happened to be staying, stepped in at the last minute with one of their meeting rooms. The room was excellent great Wi-fi connection for a global meeting and a large screen. The team really looked after us with lovely Northern hospitality and went above and beyond to put us in a room where there was lots of space so we weren’t too close to each other. Special thanks to Tom, Tim and Steve. The coffee and biscuits were lovely too!

From entering its doors to the moment we left, we were treated to the best hospitality imaginable. The manageress and the receptionist welcomed us in and treated us like friends so we immediately started to relax and enjoy everything this beautiful & very chic hotel had to offer. We stayed in a gorgeously stylish room which screamed luxury from every corner but was also excellent value for money. Location-wise it’s very central with everything Manchester has to offer on its doorstep but yet it still seemed to be situated in a secluded, exclusive area of the city & only a stones throw away from all the hustle & bustle. Out of all the hotels that we’ve stayed at in Manchester, this one was head and shoulders above the others and we can’t wait to go again.

My wife and I stayed here for a pamper night treat. We stayed in the opus suite with the side by side roll top baths (perfect for bubble baths!!). The suite was amazing, the bathroom was upstairs on a mezzanine floor. We ate and had cocktails in the restaurant. It was fabulous and every person we dealt with was outstanding. The breakfast was gorgeous and a huge option! Service exactly as you’d expect from a top notch boutique hotel. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you!!

By far the best hotel stay ever. It was a birthday surprise from my husband, we had the most amazing stay, unfortunately due to work commitments we could only stay one night but we will definitely return very soon. My husband had a birthday cake and champagne waiting in the room for me and the cake was absolutely amazing and tasted just as good. We also had our evening meal and breakfast here and the food is superb. Everyone is so friendly and wonderful, have to mention Steven who is most helpful and is really friendly..... “Do not hesitate” and book this amazing hotel:-) x

We went to the Great John Street Hotel last Saturday for afternoon tea and it was simply excellent. The quality of the food and the service were both fantastic. We were very well looked after by Ana and will definitely be coming back soon!

We visited and booked this hotel direct with the website and bought a deal which included dinner at the Rosso restaurant, Afternoon tea, and hotel room all included in the price..

A few weeks prior to arriving my partner had sadly taken poorly and we spoke with the guest relations manager (Leah) if we could rebook at a later date.. to which she was more than accommodating and suggested this would be no problem if we needed too but, We later decided to take the trip over as we had both booked the days off work..

Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and Leah made a point of introducing herself to us and even brought my partner a complimentary ginger and honey tea courtesy of the hotel along many herbal teas to make her stay as comfortable as possible whilst she was feeling a little under the weather..

Leah's attentive manner and professionalism was beyond exceptional and we can't wait to return! :)

Lovely Hotel and exceptional service from the staff, especially Steve the Concierge and Patrick on the Front desk. I can highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing place to chill out.

I last visited this hotel in 2008 and it is like time has stood still.
There are so many wonderful high spec hotels in Manchester and this now sadly lacks in finishes and thought.
The service is wonderful but the rooms and general hotel are in need of a complete overhaul.

Needs the following:
A joiner to address all the creaks and squeaks
A plumber to fix the taps
Soundproofing
Double sockets- just any would do- I found ONE opposite the bed.
Improved ventilation- the room was stifling hot
An improved room service menu (sandwiches? really?).
A really good dust.

We stayed here with 4 friends for a night celebrating 2 birthdays. Falko and the team in advance were very accommodating with our requests and kind enough to offer complimentary Prosecco which was much appreciated. The car parking was very easy and convenient and it’s a great location for being at the centre of Manchester with the shops and restaurants etc. Lovely breakfast and all the staff were very friendly. Room 27 was noisy but I have contacted the hotel about this. Would definitely return!

The accomodation, service and standard of professionalism made our experience one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Making you feel comfortable and welcomed at the very beginning was Steven who, went above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I experienced the best possible service in Manchester. Will be sure to recommend to close family and friends. Thankyou ever so much for making our anniversary trip so special to us.

My husband and I stayed here for his birthday. We booked the eclectic suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous. It has two floors. Downstairs is the bedroom with a free standing bathtub, wardrobes and dressing table. Upstairs is a spacious bathroom, walk I shower and twin sinks.

The room had high ceilings, decor was luxurious, fresh and clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

I would stay here again.

Including its History !! This was such a lovely personal touch! Something I have Never experienced elsewhere!!
She Then went on to show us to Our Room

Lovely views of the city !!

I cannot speak highly enough of this Hotel & the Staff !!
Would highly recommend & We will definitely be paying another visit !!
