Reservations with more than one (1) dog or a Single dog over the size of over 40lb are required to get a King Room, Double Room, Family Suite, or Ashe Cottage.

Pets are only allowed on the first floor, because of this, the hotel has a limited amount of pet-friendly rooms. A request at the moment of booking is highly encouraged to guarantee your pet-friendly room.

Bad customer service experience - hotel needs to shift in to 2026 payment methods

It looked charming and very pretty

Cons:

Upon arrival we explained that we’d accidentally left our bank card at our other location - we’d prepaid, had ID and had Apple Pay for the deposit/hold. Hotel refused us entry as no physical card. It felt like the man on the desk made up his mind about us straight away and was being intentionally awkward. I asked for a refund and explained we were 6hrs away from our other hotel with 2 young children and he was unsympathetic and quite rude and refused to help us. We were told without a card it was a security issue - however they would have taken $150 cash as an alternative - not sure why that’s considered safer….

Booking.com called the hotel and were so helpful, secured a refund but were also surprised about the hotels policy. Poor and stressful experience overall, and totally unnecessary as we spoke to 3 other hotels who were shocked about this ‘policy’ and were happy to help with Apple Pay. Glad we didn’t end up giving this hotel our money.

Staying at the Palms felt comfortable and more like a bed and breakfast than a "hotel".
Pros:

We thought the pool was great - a wonderful size for that sized property. Breakfast was always good. Staff were wonderful and friendly. We had a room with a small kitchen-that was a pleasant surprise, and we enjoyed that aspect a lot.

Cons:

The only thing that could have been better was to have an iron and an ironing board in the room. I bet I could have asked to borrow one, but I just did not. Also, there was only one hanger and more would have been nice. (so I could hang more clothes to get the wrinkles out, ha!)

Charming Keys Hotel
Pros:

Spotlessly clean and very well maintained hotel. The pool area and pool itself were wonderful, very clean and very well maintained. Coffee machine in the room kept coffee hot in a pot for quite awhile after brewing. The hotel itself is beautiful, charming and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Cons:

The room was a little on the small side but adequate for a one night stay. The refrigerator didn't keep drinks very cold.

I wouldn’t stay here again.
Pros:

Housekeeping staff & front desk agents were very nice and helpful.

Cons:

The hotel is shopworn and could DEFINITELY use some updates. But, it’s Key West and this property was built in 1880. BUT, they could update the property and still keep its Key West charm.

There are clocks & phones in the nightstands in the room that don’t work. Since they don’t work and aren’t plugged in, why doesn’t the hotel remove them.
