Nice place for a night or two
Pros:

Nice stopover - pleasant room with character although rather cramped shower. Nice location just a short walk from the main part of the Avenue Champagne. Good breakfast.

Went to Comtesse Lafond just 5 minutes walk which was lovely. Skip Mercier next door which is a massive Disneyland version of a champagne experience.

Just okay
Pros:

We recently stayed àt la Villa Eugene while winetasting around the Champagne region and were frankly a bit disappointed. Similar to other reviews, it was not a 5-star experience. The service was okay, the rooms were dated and the public areas were lacking (no real lobby and hallways seemed dusty). The terrace outside the bar consisted of a few tables facing the parking lot.

The room itself had a bathtub/shower which was hard to climb into and had a hand-held shower head that was inconvenient. The room itself had dated furniture, bed covers and towels which were hard and scratchy.

The location of the hotel is at the far end of Avenue de Champagne which is the farthest from the city center. It’s at least a 20 minute walk and with the heat wave this summer, not terribly pleasant. All in all, the stay was just okay.

Great Pool, convenient location but quite expensive
Pros:

It was great to have a pool, the A/C was a nice break from the July heat and it was about a 15-20min walk from the main town. The building itself is lovely and some of the staff were really helpful (eg helping us book a restaurant)

Cons:

Overall I think it was a bit over priced. Our room did not really resemble the picture on the website and felt like it needed a bit of a refurbishment. I don’t know whether we were down graded (one member of staff called it ‘the little room by the kitchen’) when I did not book the cheapest room. The shower was not working properly and overall the room was quite basic having paid just over 500euros for 1 night. Breakfast was not included, which again for the price and that fact that there was no where within 15mins to get food felt a bit tight. My friend and I did not opt for breakfast as we didn’t think we would eat enough for it to be worth it and every time we walked through the breakfast room from the pool to our room (which was the route we were shown at check in) we were questioned by the staff in there - it felt like they thought we were going to steal the food!! Slightly uncomfortable.

Too expensive for what you get! Hotel itself is nice
Pros:

Value for money is not too good unfortunately, staff is very friendly. the room was too expensive and for a room of € 530,- you will get powdered coffee in your room. Their champagnes are also very pricey. while in Champagne and restaurants around the hotel ask 2/3 of their price unfortunately. Location of hotel is nice.

A delightful short stay in a unique boutique hotel.
Pros:

Loved the size. It’s a boutique hotel with only 15 rooms. Great bathrooms. Very well equipped and beautifully presented. Excellent bathroom products. Good a/c in the bedroom. Buffet breakfast extra but worth it. Cute bar. A swimming pool area with sun deck terrace, sauna and jacuzzi and waiter service. Off street secure parking. Staff helpful and friendly. Walking distance into town.

Cons:

Traffic noise from road although rooms have sound proofing.
Bedroom a little on the small size however it was well equipped and comfortable.

It was a nice stay, Vincent was very nice and hard worker.

Charming hotel, beautiful pool & terrace.
Pros:

I was a bit worried when I read the reviews of this place. It is indeed a charming building, previously owned by the Mercier Champagne House and it is situated a little further down Champagne Avenue, but is still only a 20 - 25 min walk into town. The hotel does indeed have some tired areas but on the whole it’s very french and has is well looked after. It’s very tidy, clean and the staff are absolutely fantastic - you can’t find a bad one! At breakfast, Aline is a superstar. She can’t do enough for you. She is friendly, helpful and her English is fantastic. She made us feel so welcome. There is freshly squeezed orange juice available, freshly baked croissants & pastries alongside cereal, fruit, variety of breads, cheeses & meats alongside scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. There’s always something sweet too - whether that’s cookies, or doughnuts or muffins or my favourite - caramel shortbread! The pool area is so clean, well attended to and the pool is actually heated! Less refreshing in the very hot weather but very pleasant indeed for people like me who hate cold water! Our room was on the third floor and it was plenty big enough with lots of french furniture. We had a wonderful stay and I have only two criticisms. The shower in our room was oddly placed, meaning we had to shower in a corner of the bath to avoid soaking the room! This is due to the restricted space from the eves of the roof, but it felt less ‘5 star’. The other thing was the price of the bar. It was extortionate. I’m not a cheap skate but 9euros for a cappucino and 14 euros for two 25ml bottles of beer meant we spent our money elsewhere, which is a shame. Also, no water in the room (without charge) and the turn down service only operated one night out of the four we were there, but perhaps with was resource related. We really enjoyed our stay - the staff were absolutely brilliant.

Lovely stay in Eperney
Pros:

Lovely boutique hotel in a converted old grand home—full of charm. The rooms and bathroom were on the smaller side, but had everything we needed, and they stocked upscale bath products, which was a nice touch. Rooms were nice and quiet, and breakfast was good with kind, attentive service.

My one issue was the outdoor spaces. The pool had leaf debris floating in it, and the chairs and railings around the pool and hot tub area had spider webs on them. It was enough to gross me out, so I skipped both the pool and hot tub entirely. The property could really use more upkeep outside—it’s a shame, since everything else about the stay was lovely

Lovely villa
Pros:

Lovely place. Room with terrace was elegant, bathroom was nicely appointed. Breakfast was excellent: so many options, including flan, bread pudding, yogurt, eggs to boil, interesting breads, croissants, cheese, fruit, and the best of all—orange marmalade. Nice server in the breakfast room. Pool is gorgeous, with view Italian cypress trees, and funny sculptures. Roses are blooming, and much birdsong. If coming by train, it is a 20 minute walk, so consider taxi for luggage.
