Gorgeous, AC was excellent, breakfast was delicious… staff was impressive, even had bathing suits to purchase if you needed. Best place to stay in Epernay. No complaints 12/10…. Excellent!
friendly staff and great to have off road parking. breakfast was good.
the room was quite small
Lovely place. Room with terrace was elegant, bathroom was nicely appointed. Breakfast was excellent: so many options, including flan, bread pudding, yogurt, eggs to boil, interesting breads, croissants, cheese, fruit, and the best of all—orange marmalade. Nice server in the breakfast room. Pool is gorgeous, with view Italian cypress trees, and funny sculptures. Roses are blooming, and much birdsong. If coming by train, it is a 20 minute walk, so consider taxi for luggage.
What a lovely hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here (3 nights).
We were greeted almost as soon as we'd driven in and were given a warm welcome at reception.
The hotel is beautifully designed with contemporary art installations against the backdrop of classic furnishings. Our room was spacious and with lots of natural light, separate sofa, huge standalone bath and large walk in shower with lovely products available. The bed is comfy and we slept very well.
Sadly during our stay the weather was poor so we couldn't make use of the outdoor pool but did sit on the terrace for tea one afternoon. Had we braved the weather there was a pool perfect for short laps, sauna and steam room.
Breakfast is a lovely buffet of hot and cold items, more than I expected for a continental offering.
There is a bar in a separate annexe with, as you'd expect, a significant range of champagnes, by the glass and bottle, amongst many other drinks.
Parking is allocated at one space per room, electric charging available if needed. The car park is secured over night giving peace of mind.
The only downside to this hotel in my opinion is that it is located at the very end of the avenue, with just one Champagne House beyond it. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the hotel down the length of the Avenue de Champagne (taking in every house on your way) and into town where you will find restaurants etc
I would happily recommend this hotel.
My Sister and I stayed at the Villa Eugene on the first and last night of our Cycling for Softies holiday. When we arrived the welcome could not have been warmer and the room was superb. Although they do not have a restaurant we dined at La Theatre restaurant in Epernay which was excellent.
Breakfast in the most pretty dining room was everything you need with smiling helpful staff and the best croissants!
If you stay do not miss their little champagne bar. Leather bucket seats, jazz on the sound system and the most delectable cheese plates (or charcuterie). If you're really hungry opt for the kilner jars of beef bourguignon or chicken curry.
We will be back! Xx
Nothing - we arrived and were told the room we booked as twins wasn’t possible - we are 2 friends travelling, one of which is seriously ill hence why we need the twin room. They offered us a double or suggested one of us sleep on the floor.
We said we would leave and find another hotel in the are and submitted a cancellation - ONLY FOR THEM TO REFUSE OUR REFUND AND HAVE CHARGED US THE FULL RATE EVEN THOUGH THEY COULDNT OFFER US A ROOM WE NEEDED!!
We emailed them and they told us it was our fault, they offered us a room and it was our fault we didn’t take it.
Completely unethical and appalling - DO NOT BOOK !!!!
We stayed instead at the Hotel Jean Moet - it was the same price, better location, nicer hotel and the staff were lovely.
Book there - and support an ethical lovely hotel not the con men at this hotel.
Everything - we didn’t even get to stay there as they could offer us the room we booked.
I reserved a premier room with balcony, garden view for 4 nights at a rate of 360 Euros per night for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. I notified the hotel of the special occasion to make certain everything was perfect.
We checked in, and were taken to our room which I found was absolutely shocking. The room smelled dusty and was so small, my husband had to put his luggage in the restroom, there was a double bed, with very small pillows, the room had scuffed and scratched woodwork, the balcony was black with mildew, leaves, and debris, and furniture was dirty, and our view was an unkept garden and parking lot‼️
You can imagine my disappointment and outrage after paying 360 euros a night for this quality of room, and how it spoiled the beginning of our anniversary trip. I went to the hotel website to look again at the selection of rooms and found their highest quality of room was listed at less than 360 euros per night.
I went back down to reception after composing myself, and told the desk attendant the room was unacceptable, showed her rooms and rates on the Villa Eugene website, and told them how upset I was that the room we were given was far below my expectations and I wanted a different room for the rate advertised on their website. The attendant firmly told me the rate could not be changed, however, a different room could be made available. I was shown 2 rooms which were in a completely different class than the room reserved for us. I asked for the rate on the website but was told again, the rate could not be changed. I accepted the room but I was still distressed about the situation and decided I would relent rather than ruin our entire stay. It was a terribly disappointing beginning to our special trip.
