location and staff were excellent. given cold bottle of water at check in . comfy beds
noise from other guests and property could do with updating but in fairness i knew it was basic before i booked .
The man on the desk on the night shift was very nice and helpful. Even managed to find us a fan as the room so very hot.
Small dingy room, nothing like the photos. Couldn't open the windows as it was very loud out side which made the room very hot.
Carpet had seen better days. Walls had something smudged in it.
Bathroom was unclean, not plug in the sink just an open hole. The shower was either scolding or freezing. Good job we brought our own towels as the ones provided were only suitable for the floor when getting out of the shower.
Our friends stayed in another room and said they could hear rats scurrying around in the ceiling above!
Booking.com says not need to book car but when we arrived we did have to pre book. The man on reception managed to squeeze us in...on the pavement...at £15 a day. Only to be blocked in when we needed to leave early. Im assuming they wanted to get as much money out of people as possible so squeezed us all in and then they had to wake a poor lady up when we needed to leave.
Absolutely disgusting place...avoid at all costs.
Room wasn't clean
Was clean, bed comfortable and a Short walk to main road and bus and train station
Nothing.
The fact the place was dirty, no ides what was on the curtain and one of the rooms had a rat in the bed, when I told the man in reception, he shrugged his shoulders and laughed...DO NOT STAY HERE!!..it needs removing from Booking.com, it's a disgrace!!
The bed was really comfortable and it was open all night. We arrived early so we could park and was allowed to check in
Low standard hotel - could do with being updated. Not 100% clean, needed a good dust
Staff friendly
rooms clean
Close to tube stop
Bathroom quite small
I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, I had a positive experience. One of the aspects I really appreciated was the flexible check-in policy, which allowed me to register until midnight. This was extremely convenient, especially after a long day of travel, and made my stay much more comfortable. Additionally, the staff members were very friendly and welcoming; their helpfulness and professionalism truly made me feel valued as a guest.
However, there were a few drawbacks that affected my stay. The smell in the room and bathroom was quite unpleasant and somewhat overpowering. It was difficult to get rid of the odor, which significantly affected my comfort. The bathroom window did not close properly and was often left open during ventilation, but unfortunately, this did not help improve the smell. It seemed that the room’s ventilation was inadequate in addressing the issue.
Another point worth mentioning was the quality of the tea provided in the room. It was old and had a musty, moldy smell, making it impossible to drink. This small detail affected the overall impression, as I would have appreciated fresh and better-quality refreshments during my stay.
NOT VERY CLEAN BED BUG IN ROOM
Friendly and helpful staff
Walls were a bit thin so could really clearly hear the people in the next rooms
Location
The mouse in our room.
This place has the potential to be something a lot better. The staff were exeptionaly lovely and even allowed for a last minute extension of our check out time (for a fee). The bed was clean and comfortable. We were also offered a complimentary breakfast with our stay which while small was a nice suprise.
The problems come in at the price. I understand London is an expensive place to stay but at a total cost of £229 for 1 night in July I would really of expected the room to be nicer. I'm honestly not fussy with where I stay as long as it's clean but there were just too many things going against this place. The room was very dark and dated and clearly hasn't been given much tlc in many years. It did not look at all like any of the listing photos.
The shower was tiny and the rail mechanism was completely broken and looked like it had been for some time so showers had to be done by hand lest you risk it falling off and spraying everywhere. The bathroom itself has nowhere at all for you to put any shower products so just had to go on the floor of an already tiny shower. There was also no toilet brush and didnt look like it had been properly cleaned in some time.
The flat screen tv looks at least 10 years old and does not have streaming services like advertised. We also had no hairdryer in the room despite this being advertised.
Overall I feel pretty mis-sold on this property, I don't expect luxury for 230 a night in london but i do expect better than this.
Nothing
Cramped, plugs not working, shower head broken nosey smell tv not working bed side lamp not working, nothing like photo
Room was very basic - Staff were polite and helpful, wifi available, towels included.
No hot water so couldn’t have a shower, was woken up multiple times throughout the night by the light coming through to the room, cigarette butt was found under the bed.
The rooms was very spacious and very clean. For a lower star it definitely is a good hotel. The manager/front of house man was extremely helpful and informative with our questions. The location was perfect for out stay a 15 minute walk to Finsbury Park. Would reccomend for all reasons but mainly as the beds are super comfy.
I think this is more our own problem then a hotel issue as the weather has been hot and the room was on the top floor it was very warm and the where sun facing but for a night this isnt really that much of an issue as the room was perfect for outr purpose. The bathroom is dated nonetheless the shower pressure was brilliant.
