I loved everything about this property!

The scent of jasmine fills the air, adding a layer of magic to the location of La Perla that makes staying here even more wonderful. Waking up to the sounds of the elusive cuckoo lets you know you are not in Kansas anymore (not that I live in KS, mind you).

We absolutely LOVED the family who hosts La Perla and cannot say enough wonderful things about them! From the warm welcome to the fond farewell, we could not have asked for a better stay on Lake Como! They have hospitality in their blood! They even went as far as to personally call our car rental company to check if we were able to take the car into Switzerland enroute to our next city.

Our room faced the famous lake and the small balcony was enough for us to relax and enjoy a late afternoon glass of wine before venturing out for dinner down below. I loved the touch of the pots of jasmine that were grown as dividers in between reach room, acting as scented privacy screens! The bed was comfy but we are pillow people and the pillows were a bit on the flat side.

We especially enjoyed the refreshing pool (not heated but PERFECT after a day exploring) and the breakfast buffet. My favorite part was being able to “cook” my own eggs, choosing whether I wanted soft boiled or hard boiled. Even down to the egg cups, the family has an eye for detail.

SPECIAL NOTES:
*There is parking on-site but not enough for everyone if all the rooms are full, so down below is public parking and stairs to access the hotel. Make sure you tuck your call all the way in. The street is narrow.

*If you are driving your own car, ask the hotel for the directions! There are two ways of reaching La Perla … one is less nail-biting than the other (which is the route we took in, learning the hard way that GPS will get you there the fastest, but more stressful, way).

*Make sure you ask for an extra key. This is important if you are going to come and go separately from the room. Why? The key unlocks the door, obviously, but you also need to have the key in the holder inside the room to keep the electricity on. While smart, it becomes inconvenient if one person is in the bathroom with the door closed (our room didn’t have a window in the bath) and the other one leaves to go fetch something. The lights go off and you are in the dark. It can be pretty funny but good to know.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Alles sehr sauber und aufgeräumt. Das Essen war auch sehr gut. Genug Platz am Pool für alle. Die Lage war einmalig mit herrlichem Blick auf den See. Hat genügend PP.

Al capdamunt d’un turó, en una ubicació privilegiada amb unes vistes espectaculars sobre el llac de Como i els pobles de San Giovanni i Bellagio a l’altra riba, trobem aquest hotel on l’amabilitat i el servei formen part de l’essència de l’establiment.
Des del moment de l’arribada es percep aquesta manera d’entendre l’hospitalitat més tradicional i propera. El personal t’explica amb calma el funcionament de l’hotel i una de les persones de l’equip t’acompanya fins a l’habitació per mostrar-te tots els detalls, un gest cada vegada menys habitual i que marca diferències.
La nostra habitació disposava d’un balcó amb unes vistes increïbles sobre el llac, d’aquelles que conviden a seure una estona i simplement mirar. L’estança era àmplia, impecablement neta i molt ben cuidada, amb un gran llit de matrimoni que assegurava un bon descans.
El bany, tot i no ser especialment gran, està ben resolt, amb una bona il·luminació i una dutxa còmoda, suficient per a l’ús de dues persones.
Un altre dels atractius de l’hotel és la piscina, perfecta per prendre el sol o refrescar-se després d’un dia descobrint els pobles del llac.
L’esmorzar, servit en format bufet, es pot gaudir a la terrassa amb el llac com a escenari. No busca impressionar per quantitat, però està molt ben mantingut i ofereix tot el necessari per començar bé el dia. Amb una decoració en tons pastel i un aire que recorda els grans hotels de principis del segle XX, però adaptat a les comoditats actuals, La Perla és un exemple que alguns clàssics no passen mai de moda.
