What a fantastic hotel. We chose Salerno as a base for a few days on the Amalfi coast because it looked like you got a better quality of hotel for your money than some of the hotels in the other towns along that coast. We weren't wrong.
We'd requested a sea-view room and were pleasantly surprised when we got given the Suite Deluxe - a huge room with a balcony area overlooking the sea. Room was enormous with a huge hot tub/jet bath in the corner of the room which was a nice novelty. We had a separate large bathroom too.
Staff were great and friendly. Breakfasts in the morning were lovely - lots of choice.
Salerno feels like more of a 'seaside' town - it appeared that the season was coming to an end by mid-October and a number of restaurants had shut for the winter - however there were still plenty of bars and restaurants open. You have to try Pepe Nero - the restaurant that is next door to the hotel - fantastic food and loads of choice. Our taxi driver recommended it when he dropped us off and we ate there twice in three days.
The hotel is about 5 mins taxi away from the ferry port/train station - but most of the time we chose to walk there. Took around 30 mins and is a nice stroll along the sea front. We got the ferry to Amalfi one day and we bought tickets via the FerryHopper app and had no issues. Ferry took about 25 minutes to get to Amalfi (although there are some that take longer).
Hotel is very bright and clean and would definitely like to return at some point.
This is a great place for a simple, clean room at a reasonable price. The sea view is stunning. The decor is traditional, not contemporary, with lots of colorful tiles. Despite somewhat dated decor, this is the sort of place that would be perfect for families who are more interested in good value than hip design. The hotel is right on the sea, and beach access is a very short walk down the coast (3 -5 minutes). It’s a quick bus ride to center but a world away from the tourist hordes. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including a great Japanese place in the same building. Best of all, the place is spotless, and the staff was friendlier and more helpful than we found at five star properties elsewhere. I really can’t say enough about how welcoming they are. Oh, and breakfast was great. They get a family-friendly A+.
Friendly staff
Fantastic location: All rooms have balconies directly over the sea (no stret in between)
with amazing views of the very scenic Amalfi coast.
Staff at reception is exceptionally friendly and efficient in solving all problems (e.g. finding me a taxi when I got lost in old town late in the night ).
Rich choice of hot and cold dishes for breakfast and unlimited coffee of your choice (e.g. espresso followed by capuccino).
Very clean rooms with spotless new shower cabins.
My 4-night stay at Polo Nautico was one of the most enjoyable among > 50 3- or 4-star hotels I visited in past 8 years!
Very helpful staff, loved them setting us up at the private beach by the hotel as well, right by the ocean in the first row!
We extend our sincere thanks to your staff for making us feel at home from the very first moment. Your hotel deserves top marks for its visual appeal, warmth, and friendly service, as well as its delicious food. I hope our paths cross again. ❤️ It was truly a nice stay, and we will certainly recommend your hotel to our friends and family.
Great location, nice breakfast, Manu dining options around.
Great place
Very nice and clean!
Fue muy buena todo bien, muy amable las personas que trabajan en el hotel
Beautiful surroundings
Bellissima struttura sul mare. Personale gentilissimo e stanze ben strutturate.
Love the beach theme of the rooms. The view from the sea side rooms was amazing. The location was good with the beach at the end of the parking lot. The only downsides are that the parking lot next door seems to be public and free, therefore very crowded, and a lack of dining in the area. The restaurant in the hoyel looked good to me but my wife is allergic to seafood and that limited the selections available there. The place next door was really good but a little pricey. All in all a great one night stay for us.
I checked in and had a beautiful room that I paid for. The two female receptionists that checked me in were super nice and helpful. I had to leave the hotel in the middle of my first night because the person in the room next to me was snoring too loudly that I couldn’t sleep. I went downstairs to the male receptionist working that night and complained that the walls were too thin and I couldn’t sleep because of the snoring next door. And asked if I could get a different room just for that night, and he declined. Unfortunately, he told me I have to deal with it until the next morning. I informed him that without sleep, I could not function. And he told me he could not help me. So I left after midnight and drove to my second hotel room in Amalfi. Thank goodness I had that option. Horrible customer service from that male employee.
Very friendly staff !
Great Location
Great
My husband and I stayed in this hotel unexpectedly after our car insurance arranged for us to spend one night here, whilst our vehicles was being repaired. Sofia especially was so helpful. Translating and communicating with the garage, going above and beyond to help us.
Sofia you are so kind as are your colleagues.
The hotel was very nice and the views are breakfast amazing.
La chambre était grande avec vue sur la mer, mais impossible de fermer les volets les charnières étaient cassés, l’abattant des toilettes cassé et mauvaise insonorisation. Dessus pour un quatre étoiles.
