Playacartaya Hotel

We spent there one week. Hotel needs a little refresh. Food was a bit salty and some dishes had no labels. Stuff was kind and smiling but had some troubles with communication in English. And I didn't get answear for my request.It was pleasant stay, but we won't back.

Had to wait two and a half hours for room to be ready, and the safe didn’t work , not worth the 400 euros a day .

Ideal para adultos con niños. Se lo pasan genial con los toboganes.

From the moment I arrived at reception to check in, the main goal of the staff was to get extra money out of me. The room I had booked wasn’t ready because they were very busy but I could have an upgrade for an extra €40 per night and that room was ready so I accepted as we were tired and hungry. Parking was available, but there was a charge. Again I accepted. There was a charge for the dogs even though they did not provide ANYTHING for them. Again I accepted. Our suite had a safe but yes, you’ve guessed it, there was a charge. You could get a towel for the pool from reception but you had to give them your credit card details. Overall I was completely disappointed. The hotel is too big and impersonal and it was not my cup of tea

Schimmel im Bad, Bei Halbpension muss man Getränke extra bezahlen, sogar auch wenn man zum Essen nur Wasser bestellt.

Me gustó mucho el trato del personal y las instalaciones y la comida y acceso a la playa directo. Lo que me gustó menos es que el precio es muy caro siendo finales de Junio

The entertainment was only for small children, nothing for adults. Food was really bad except for the to order section by the grill. They seem to limit the amount of food that is prepared depending on the number of guests. Good steaks, fish usually dry, breakfast was ok. Some things served again and again, day after day, without trying to hide the fact it was served several times already. really the worst food of any hotel I have stayed.
The bed was the hardest I have ever seen in my life.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Building was beautiful. Lots of pools.
The area is boring and nowhere to walk to nearby.
I would not recommend it.
Beach was beautiful, but was on a river, which could be very muddy and dirty.

Hotel con evidente signo de deterioro en colchón, almohada, mampara de ducha rota, hamacas insuficientes y vencidas, te cobran por todo: por usar wifi, caja fuerte, hasta por cambiar las toallas

Die Zustände am Wochenende waren unausstehlich! Wocheinvasionen, die dad Schöne Hotel zi einem Rummelplatz gemacht haben. Lautstärke war bis spät in die Nacht furchtbar. Auch im Speisesaal !. Jakusie war voller schreiender Kinder mit Spielzeug im Wasser. Und dad, obwohl der Eintritt etst ab 15 ist. Also: Erholungsfaktor am Wochenende ist gleich null!! Abendprogramm entspricht krinem 4 Sterne Hotel. Grundsätzlich gehört das Hotel, bzw. Die Flure, Türen und Bäder renoviert. Das Personal war trotz aller Umstände sehr freundlich!

Spent 7 nights here with my wife and 2 kids , can't really complain to much the hotel is clean , more than enough types of food to choose from, great selection of drinks the pool area is wonderful the kids had loads of fun and the area is absolutely magnificent with a nice forest behind the hotel and a stunning beach in front.

Closest supermarket is at 30 min walking time, u won't find cigarettes at the hotel so come prepared . Tobacco shop at 30 min away as well.

Bad Bits - not a major issue but sometimes annoying - most of the staff apart from the receptionists don't speak English.
Half of the staff don't seem to be costumer focused

Hemos ido por primera vez con nuestro perrito , muy contentos repetiremos, el personal maravilloso, tanto monitores , limpieza Restaurante y recepción, muy pendientes de nuestras necesidades, un hotel muy acogedor ideal para nosotros y nuestra mascota 😊

Stunning, clean hotel. I travelled alone with my three children. I don't have a word if Spanish and everybody at the hotel went out if their way to make it an amazing stay. The rooms were spotless cleaned daily. The bathroom wS huge with the shower separate ti the bath, so clever. The food was delicious they varied the menu everyday. We walked the beach daily and then went yo the heated indoor pool. The chef and the crepe lady went out if their way ti cater for every individual taste. I ate squid to mutton tp pasta.

It was a very stressful and noisy week in Hotel Playa Cartaya

It started during the arrival upon check in where the Reception team seemed stressed and without any front office organization.
We where received without any welcome and were told that our room would be ready in 3 hours. When we asked for beach towels - 1 minute later- another team member mentioned that room was ready. No communication between this stressed team. Room was nice however “tired” with old furniture and cleanliness badly done.

Gym was closed without any explanation- just closed. Indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi the same- closed. During the entire stay no opportunity to try this facilities. Outdoor areas very dirty around pool chairs and many broken sun beds. Poor service in the bar. Waiting too long to be served.

Once again very tired team.

We did not wanted to try the restaurant for lunch or diner. During the noisy and unorganized breakfast service we could imagine the main meals.

We decided to leave the hotel 2 days earlier. Just could not stand being in a place like this.

When we reported our feedback at the reception the previous evening, Team was so busy that did not reported our feedback to the Management on the previous evening.

It seems that no turn down is done between them.

the front office lady responsible for the Reception was staring/ looking at during check out time on the following day. Instead of coming and transmit personal assistance for hotel guests, she gave a tiny paper to the gentlemen that was attending us so that we could transmit our feedback per email. No comments, not greeting, nothing..very unprofessional.

If you are looking for a chilled and relaxed holidays this is definitely not the place. Not to repeat ever again.

The Good

* The rooms are nice and spacious, cleaning very good.
* Beds are comfortable
* Gardens well-maintained
* Lovely beach accessible by tunnel from hotel

The Bad

Anything that required staff. They blatantly don't have enough people. At breakfast and dinner you will need to clear your own table, go & find more cutlery (if there is any). They run out of coffee cups, the coffee machine broke, the food was average at best.

We weren't on all-inclusive and after paying for dinner on the first night we were really pleased we hadn't paid for it, I would have been fuming. There are some really nice restaurants a couple of miles down the road in El Rompido, I'd recommend those

There aren't enough sunbeds by the pools for the hotel and the clientele match up to their European counterparts in terms of reserving them before breakfast with towels and then not using them all day. And the hotel do very little about it.

Big queues for drinks. Again as most are on all-inclusive I guess they don't care as they have your money already. I never quite worked out why they always asked me if I was on all-inclusive *before* they made my drinks. If I had been would they have made me a rubbish one?

There was also supposed to be a gym but it is 'temporarily' closed. Don't suppose I can get any money back for that as it was part of the package we thought we were getting.

The clientele were also happy to let their kids run around the pool area until 2am making A LOT of noise and throwing stuff about. I kind of get the Spanish do things a lot later but this wasn't showing much respect for any other hotel guests - and the hotel did nothing about it.

To be clear - the staff who are there work really hard, there just aren't enough of them. I'm sure as with anywhere this translates into more profit for the hotel owners at the expense of customers - and the staff.

Hola, acabamos de llegar de las vacaciones, y la verdad que lha sido buena experiencia., es un hotel dónde los niños lo pasan muy bien con el mini parque acuático, además todo el día hay actividades tanto para niños como psra adultos.

Las habitaciones muy amplias. Por poner alguna pega, es el tema de tener que enseñar la tarjeta siempre que tengas que pedir algo, y el bufet para comer cortito y poca variedad donde elegir.
Pero recomiendo este hotel.

Staff muito simpático. O Hotel é bom. É pena não ter um restaurante à la carte para variar. Gostámos do SPA. único ponto negativo é o Wi-Fi não funcionar nos quartos.

Bel hôtel avec un personnel à l écoute et serviable
Nous avons été très bien accueilli avec un agent d accueil qui a fait l effort de parler français
Notre suite était très grande, propre et confortable avec un accès rapide à l espace aquatique
Ce dernier était très sympa pour les enfants
Nous regrettons néanmoins la température de l’eau dans le bassin principal
L accès à l espace VIP avec la formule all exclusive Royal était très agréable
Le SPA était très sympa également
Seul bémol à ce séjour l espace restauration qui propose des menus un peu répétitif
Nous sommes restés 7 jours avec seulement une vingtaine de personne dans l hôtel pour un mi avril du dimanche au vendredi. Par contre une vague d espagnol à débarqué le vendredi et nous nous sommes retrouvé à plus de 1000. Le restaurant s est alors transformé en cantine familiale où il était difficile de s entendre
