Hotel-Gasthof am Selteltor

Ein schöner gemütlicher Ort in einer interessanten Kleinstadt. Guter Anlaufpunkt für wanderfreudige. Uns haben die alten Fachwerkhäuser interessiert.
Das Ambiente im Hotel ist für uns genau das richtige gewesen. Auch mit Hund sehr zu empfehlen. Essen reichlich und sehr gut. Schwäbische Küche. Fahrstuhl im Haus.

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening as the dinning room was closing. The hostess was extremely nice and offered to make a green salad with meats and other cold
food choices, as we had not had time for an evening meal.
The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast the next morning offered a variety of foods.

Zimmer ok, Leider war das Personal im Restaurant durch die gleichzeitige Ankunft eines Reisebusses etwas überfordert
Speisenauswahl daher eingeschränkt, aber gute Qualität

Musste 2 mal Anfahren, da die Rezeption nicht besetzt war. Auch ein anderer Gast hat bereits gewartet.

Lors de notre séjour en juillet, nous avions bénéficié d'une terrasse. Ce ne fut pas le cas lors de notre retour au mois d'août. Dommage...

Das Zimmer war ausreichend gross für eine Einzelperson, als Doppelzimmer eher ungeeignet. Das vorhandene zweite Bett deutet auf eine gelegentliche Verwendung diesbezüglich hin. Das Bad war in einem älteren Stil (braune wappenförmige Bodenfliesen, enge rechteckige Duschkabine) und würde sich über eine modernisierung bestimmt sehr dankbar zeigen. Insbesondere der Wasserdruck, sowie die Wasserversorgung (Warmwasser) sollte gewartet werden (es dauert gefühlte 5 Minuten ehe in der Dusche warm Wasser kommt).
Enttäuschend fand ich das an nur einem von zwei kompletten Aufenthaltstagen offensichtlich ein Zimmerservice (Bett machen, Mülleimer leeren etc.) statt gefunden hat.

This hotel may be a little out of the way, but is well worth the time it takes to get there and well worth arriving early enough for dinner. The staff is fantastic and the food is amazing. The perfect way to spend a wonderful evening with wine, family, and a great dinner outside on the front deck. Breakfast was included in our rate and a nice spread with homemade breads and local jams. I think if we had not already had reservations for the next night we would have driven back out of our way to stay here again and certainly will the next time we are in the area!

This town is about 30 min away from Ulm and is totally isolated by steep hills on all sides. It's an absolutely gorgeous location and it doesn't surprise me why people would want to live there - but you clearly have to be able to afford it. The hotel was nice, but almost too modern to match the surroundings. The restaurant is terrific and the food was 1st rate, as was the service. I definitely recommend this hotel and town.
