Our short stay in Calais
Pros:

The owner was very thoughtful and caring.
The accommodation was very clean, quiet and well located in Calais.
Our room was warm and quiet at night.

Cons:

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Surprisingly excellent hotel, we slept well
Pros:

I loved this property, interesting French furniture on the stairs, the beds were comfortable with crisp sheets, we had a roll top bath and the room was at the back of the hotel so no road or other noise. We also stored our bikes in a locked room

Cons:

( very minor point ) it doesn’t look like a hotel from the front so we ended up cycling past it

A most pleasant and unexpected experience.
Pros:

Once we had found the hotel. M.Benoit went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He is a true gentleman who is friendly and helpful. The hotel also has secure parking which is useful.

Cons:

This is not intended as an adverse criticism but, writing as a 'senior citizen', it is worth knowing that there is no lift in the hotel, and therefore I would advise similar afflicted persons not to bring a heavy bag. Once again, M.Benoit was most helpful with his assistance for which we thank him.

Perfect for an overnight/short stay in Calais, good quality and value accommodation.
Pros:

We received a very warm welcome and shown to our lovely room which had a balcony overlooking a park. Lovely comfortable bed, good shower, kettle and cups in bedroom. Also a shared lounge along the corridor, with coffee machine / pods and extras provided as well as comfortable chairs to relax in. Within a two minute walk we found cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from for our evening meal, with Place des Armes two minutes further offering plenty more options.

Nothing.

Pros:

Benoit, the proprietor, was very friendly and helpful, and ensured that we had everything we needed.
The bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

There was traffic noise, but things quietened down after midnight.

Presque parfait.
Pros:

Balcon donnant sur le parc, proximité (150m) d'un excellent restaurant (L'Hovercraft) et de boulangerie/patisseries for the petit déjeuner. The lack of breakfast at the hotel was not an issue.

Cons:

The hotel is being redecorated, so expect a relatively 'rough' appearance at certain places (stairwells for instance) for some time, but the rooms are just perfect. The extra 'salon' is a nice touch when you are travelling with other friends.

Nicht ganz neu aber sympathisch
Pros:

Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, ruhige zentrale Lage, gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Es gibt zwar kein Frühstück, aber man kann sich einen Tee oder Kaffee kochen. Check-in und -out waren auch ohne Rezeption unkompliziert. Ideal für einen Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg zur Fähre.

Unkompliziertes Ein- uns Auschecken mittels Code und Email-Kontakt. Saubere Unterkunft. Parken auf abgeschlossenem Gelände im Hinterhof möglich (+ 6,- €)

Von außen nicht ansprechend, wird aber aktuell wohl renoviert

Clean, comfortable and the owner is very helpful.
Pros:

The room was a good size, I could open the windows so there was a nice breeze, this was the end of the hot 2026 summer! I was travelling with my bicycle and owner allowed me and other guests to store the bike securely. Perfect stay.

Amazing find that’s perfect for couples.
Pros:

This was a fantastic find. The location is perfect - only 10 minutes from driving off the ferry. The tiny hidden car park (extra) meant we didn’t have to worry about on-street parking and Benoit was so helpful with everything. Perfect for a short break in Calais or as a stopping point before travelling elsewhere.

Cons:

Be aware that it’s lots of stairs as it’s an old building - but they’re solid oak so part of the charm.
