Will never be back!
Pros:

Went for afternoon tea today. Arrived 5 minutes early. Told that 2 tables were available as another couple had also booked afternoon tea 30 minutes after us.

Waited 15 minutes where the waiter brought 2 pots of hot water. Realised I was getting Nescafé instant coffee sachets!! Was expecting a nice bean to cup coffee.

Waited another 15 minutes for our food. Funnily, the couple at the other table just arrived and got their hot water and food very quickly. Demonstrates they made the food to cater for 2 bookings 30 minutes apart!

Not once was I asked about allergens. No signage either advising process

Condiments on the table were visibly dirty!

Certainly won't be back! Never got a drink and couldn't eat any of the sandwiches! Dessert was poor. Was expecting a cake or two.

The worst afternoon tea I have ever experienced! And this is supposed to be a 4 star establishment!

Very poor
Pros:

Booked an executive room on Saturday night for my partners birthday room was very small to what photos had showed we went for dinner in hotel which was overpriced and very poor that night heating turned off at around 10 pm it was -2 outside so midddle of the night we were both freezing breakfast in the morning was stone cold and we were one of the first couples to go for breakfast needless to say I will not be ever staying here again and would definitely put someone off who is planning staying there

Needs a revamp!
Pros:

Rooms very dated. Didn’t seem that clean either. Just not great! Getting into them was a challenge in itself as the old fashioned keys were really hard to get in the lock and then didn’t turn properly (many people seemed to have the same issue).
Breakfast was okay, lots of choice but cheese selection was all dried up and the Scottish breakfast wasn’t that hot.
Had our works Christmas party night which was actually a great night and the entertainment was good but the food was so basic with no choice. Soup for starter - I’d never choose that. No cranberry sauce for the turkey!!
All in all, an okay place but by no means great. Has potential but everything just seems run down.

The whole place needs an update!!
Pros:

We stayed for two nights at Glynhill for the family funeral.
Pros: the room was spacious for the four of us (we travelled with two teenagers) and the room/ hotel was clean.
Cons: the mattresses on the beds were springy, you could feel the springs digging into your back as you slept. The pillows were rock solid, so we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. The furniture in the rooms was dated and the wood on the desk and little coffee table was bashed. There were some marks in the bath’s enamel too, and the bin was all rusty at the bottom. The breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about.
We were so looking forward to our stay, but we won’t be returning.

Party night music was horrendous!
Pros:

We visited as a group of 8 friends for an 80s and 90s party night. For £39 it was ok. Food was decent and bar queues were very quick. However, music was really really bad. We were expecting Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Erasure etc as advertised. Instead we got 60th birthday party at a bowling club; it’s raining men, Donna Summer etc. The 90s music was only marginally better, none of the good clubbing old school classics, it was more hardcore doof doof music like scooter. All in all, not a total flop but definitely not the night we were expecting based on the advertising.

Excellent
Pros:

Myself and my daughter had a spa day and afternoon tea. My daughter had neck and back massage. I had facial. The 2 girls who gave treatments were excellent. I had Georgie who was amazing. The other girl was fantastic too sorry can't remember her name. So attentive and informative. We attended on 15/11/25. Thanx girls for a lovely day.

Not fit for 4 stars. Too many issues with safety etc. Not recommended.
Pros:

Overnight stay following a tribute night show. The entertainment was very good. The hall was bursting to capacity. Room issues included....broken iron, no window restrictors on this second floor room!! Last electrical PAT Test carried out 2019!!! Bathroom has no grab rails, soap dispenser at shower height, so of no use if taking a bath. The toilet had urine in the pan when we arrived. Toilet rolls did not have a holder. No fan in the room.
This is a very expensive hotel and certainly not 4 star standard.
Staff were delightful. Plenty of free parking on site.
Food served quickly but chicken dry and crispy on the edges and broccoli like dried flowers. Cheesecake dessert dry. Breakfast was only warm.. cheese slices curled up, dried up hash browns and bacon hard.
I sent all the above issues to the hotel in an email a week ago....as yet no acknowledgement of receiving my email or response .

Ok Hotel
Pros:

Hotel was ok.

Check in was weird. Went to desk said I’d booked a room. Was asked for name and was simply given my room key. Nothing signed or card details taken. Very odd

Rooms very very basic and in need of updating.

We didn’t use any of the facilities so can’t comment on these

Parking on site is free

Overnighter
Pros:

My missus and i got a child free night so decided to treat ourselves to a wee overnighter at this hotel following an evening watching the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey team at Braehead Arena. First impressions of the hotel: attractive old fashioned exterior with a more modern extension on the side. Good ammount of parking facilities also. Check in was relatively straigh forward and staff we delt with were friendly.

The room was "so so". Not blown away by it but no major complaints. Bed was pretty comfy and all the necessary facilities in the room you would expect were present.

There was a wedding on whilst we were there, it appears our room was sandwiched between 2 rooms that were occupied by guests of the wedding party. After midnight they were overly noisey, my wife and i can tolerate stuff like this, we were young once. There did seem to be alot of unnecassary noise for long periods of time as they appeared to continue their party into the hall way right outside our door, i could have said something but end of the day its a wedding and not the type of person put a dampner on that for anyone, i think perhaps it would have been more sensible for the reception to have potentially given us a room not right next to the wedding party though, but no harm, we didnt have kids with us so not a big deal, had we had kids with us then that would have been a different matter although im sure under those circumstances we would have been in a quieter part of the hotel.

Breakfast was good, self servie. Very good selection of hot and cold foods. Quite impressed with that.

Overall a nice wee hotel, would probably return, just a shame we didnt get alot of sleep but these thinhs happen.

Pros:

Room 128 must be near a generator kept awake all night with it clicking on and off worst sleep in a hotel stay ever.

stairwell at room the carpet was soaking wet with a bucket catching dripping water should have been closed off, room needs upgraded, small and very dark even with all the lights on, no lift was there with an elderly parent struggled getting up the stairs.

Drink prices was extortionate, nice breakfast in the morning only positive.

Pool closed due to maintenance works dueing our stay.

Would not return.

Pros:

Nice hotel in Paisley, service was good, but hotel is tired and needs updating. Disappointed to see the amount of food that looked to be going to waste at breakfast, and not sure it was eco friendly in any aspect. Good hotel, a little high in terms pricing, but would not stay there again.

Would definitely come back.
Pros:

We had a nice stay and a lovely meal in the restaurant. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
One little thing I would say that in our room there was a full length mirror which was great but no mirror near a point to use a hairdryer.

Dated rooms with no attention to detail.
Pros:

Booked for an overnight stay, looking forward to pool and spa.
Building is lovely and was in a good location for us. We had a corner room with lovely big windows.
On arrival, there was a typed note at reception to say the pool was closed.
Our bedroom had bulbs missing and no bedside lights/lamps. I asked reception staff if they could be replaced, but this didn't happen.
During the night when my sister got up to go to bathroom she fell twice trying to find a light switch. I'm sure she wouldn't have been the 1st guest to have this happen.
Also only 2 plug sockets. TV and heater. None for hairdryer or phone.
Overall the hotel feels dated with staff who do their job but don't really care about guest experience/feedback.
We didn't eat here, so we can't comment on food.

Never returning to this hotel
Pros:

Booked a 3 night stay ,big mistake when we got to the room noticed big scuffs on the walls, dingy dark brown wardrobe and desk . Bathroom filthy with black scum around the bath taps and shower screen, bathroom had a hole in and also had a squeeze so loud had to leave the door open all night once in bed the beds are the most uncomfortable either of us have ever slept in Hot water was hit and miss ,found previous guests open bottle of whiskey and comb, house keeping is non existent.booked because of access to pool note on reception to say pool closed when asked why we were not informed the response was “wish we had been told” reception staff could not have been any more disinterested. How this hotel is classed as a 4 star is beyond me needless to say we will never stay or book this hotel again .
