Perfect place for a family mini break. Breakfast excellent, warm swimming pool and good equipment in the gym. Lovely staff, very welcoming both reception and fitness suite . Plenty of amenities, restaurants close by. A little drive from city centre but overall great little break. Thank you!
We stayed here last year whilst my partner had some training in Renfrew. We returned to stay again this year.
Yes it is a bit dated and in need a bit of work here and there but not enough to put us off staying.
It is spotlessly clean, the beds are really comfy, tea abd coffee making in the room, free parking and lovely staff.
I enjoy the walk in to Paisley and one of the days we got the train from there into Glasgow centre, just one stop away.
We didn't get chance to use the facilities even though we took our swim stuff, maybe next time.
We will definitely return to stay here in the future.
The area is spot on and Glasgow is an amazing city.
One of our favourite cities.
We were sad to leave.
I always stay here is I am heading to the airport as it’s supper handy. The rooms are a little dated but have everything you need of it’s just for a night or two. The restaurant is also ok, but the breakfast is excellent! Buffet and so much to choose from! It’s also very well priced
I like that it’s close to breahead as well
The leisure facilities are poor maybe 2 star not 4 star the manager and his staff are poor unfriendly do nothing but play on there personal phones and computers they do nothing the place is unclean there are broken tiles in the shower areas and there are regular complaints about the male manager walking into the ladies changing room there is no hospitality from the staff just hostility
Sorry to say was not the best experience.
Room was freezing on arrival.
Room was very dated, very low water pressure in shower.
Banging noise woke me up at 1 am and kept banging every half hour and kept me awake till around 4. Room 146.
On a positive note the staff were all friendly and breakfast was really good.
Room was freezing cold on arrival all radiators were turned off. Took 3 hrs to warm back up. Food is served and guests allowed to be loud, use vikgar language loudly. Afyer asking for a quiet dining area i was led through double doors to a seprate room but doors left open and all sound carries. I left to find somewhere outside the premises as tonuse room service they wanted £4.50 "tray charge" to carry it to room. Upon my return called / shouted hello loudly for 15 minutes at reception but no one came barman said its permannetly manned so cant be far. He fetched coffee and milk for me as a courtsey. In the room at midnight there was a loud noise of machinery drumming. I rang reception he said i know what thay will be leave it with me at 1 am it was turned off at 4:30 am it was turned on again. Soap in bathroom was almost empty and didnt dispense unless took it apart rem9ved bag and squeezed it. NEVER BOOK HERE AGAIN BIG MISTAKE
Whilst this hotel is warm, everything else is a shambles. Went with a party of 30plus. For burns night. 1st night food disgusting , chicken, plain rice, mac cheese and plain burger. 2nd night was an improvement but burns night we should have had the dressing of the haggis the starter we a small round of tatties nips topped with haggis. 2nd course was beef stew (which was good) followed by a passable cheesecake
We were guaranteed in writing a low room next to life due to mobility, they gave us a room on 2nd floor, down 2 corridors and through 2 fire doors, asked for a slip mat for bath, 2 requests were made, eventually arrived 10hours latter
Found the staff either rude or abrupt The reason for this trip was for a proper burns night. Stayed 4 nights a waste of money.
I became a member on January 2025, I joined to use swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi only. I found it really reasonable amount to pay per month.
Since joining I visit 2-3 times a week, mostly evenings but if I'm off my work I come during the day and stay for hours. Swimming, using the Health suite, Reading my book, having a complementary cup of tea and a chat with other members/public.
The pool closed for over a month which I found hard not just the physical aspect but my mental health took a dip. I tried The Foundary and Nuffield but didn't feel comfortable at all. It just wasn't the Glynhill!
The Glynhill is like another family to me, a home from home. The staff get to know you and genuinely care for their members and visitors. I feel very comfortable and almost everyone that uses the facilities are lovely and friendly. You can chill out or be as socialable as you want.
Yip place is not perfect, but where is. Some minor areas needing attention like shower pressure but apart from that pretty much fantastic.
The jacuzzi is not in use since covid, similar to alot of facilities but that doesn't bother me.
The manager AJ is very much present with his members and he welcomes regular feedback and any issues I have raised have been resolved promptly.
I think some people forget that AJ is a human being and he respects his members and visitors so when providing feedback please be respectful towards him and his team too.
If you want perfection 👌 good luck!
But if you want:-
To be part of a new family
To feel welcomed by friendly members and visitors
Enjoy in a calm relaxing environment
Get value for money
Improve your mental health
Then the Glynhill is for you x
Great hotel - super comfy and elegant bedroom newly refurbished - lovely and helpful staff and ideal working space for us. Delicious food and all superbly organised highly recommend
We stayed here and booked the Hogmanay package for New Year’s Eve and the New Year’s Day party. Staff were so friendly and cheery despite working the festive period. Nothing was a problem to them. Especially Lynette, Katie, Gemma and Ian. The hotel is a little tired, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. The Hogmanay party was fantastic and food was great considering 300 people were being catered for. The New Year’s Day party was fabulous also and very accommodating for families which people can struggle to get somewhere that accommodates children.
The leisure facilities are great also.
We missed breakfast everyday but did have dinner on the 2nd Jan in the restaurant and we all enjoyed it. Again the service was fantastic.
Well done Glynhill your staff are a credit to you!
Lovely experience from start to finish! We booked last month for the New Year’s Day party night. Great getting to do something nice as New Year’s Day is usually very boring! First impressions were great, beautiful hotel & lovely staff. Room was lovely & so quiet during the night! Party night was great, the singer was amazing! The food was delicious! Really impressed at the quality considering it was a large event! We missed breakfast but used the leisure facilities which were all up to a great standard. Very well catered for families. Will definitely return!
Thank you
Stayed for 2 nights for a writing retreat and had a really comfortable visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, my room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, the food and service were great and I enjoyed using the pool. Thank you Glynhill staff for looking after us so well.
Embarrassing and grim.
Mold in the room (see photos) where the tea was kept and in the shower (which had no water pressure).
My guest received no confirmation email for her stay.
I spoke with reception to ensure only my card would be charged and was assured this would be guaranteed and yet my guest was still made to foot the bill.
While most staff were friendly & apologetic for the issues faced (I appreciate its a busy time of year), the reception manager was lacking in even the most basic of conversational capacity and was intent on denying any failure on the hotels part.
Stayed many time and would stay again. Pool is good. Breakfast good. Rooms a bit dated, but overall value for money. Would recommend.
Went for afternoon tea today. Arrived 5 minutes early. Told that 2 tables were available as another couple had also booked afternoon tea 30 minutes after us.
Waited 15 minutes where the waiter brought 2 pots of hot water. Realised I was getting Nescafé instant coffee sachets!! Was expecting a nice bean to cup coffee.
Waited another 15 minutes for our food. Funnily, the couple at the other table just arrived and got their hot water and food very quickly. Demonstrates they made the food to cater for 2 bookings 30 minutes apart!
Not once was I asked about allergens. No signage either advising process
Condiments on the table were visibly dirty!
Certainly won't be back! Never got a drink and couldn't eat any of the sandwiches! Dessert was poor. Was expecting a cake or two.
The worst afternoon tea I have ever experienced! And this is supposed to be a 4 star establishment!
Booked an executive room on Saturday night for my partners birthday room was very small to what photos had showed we went for dinner in hotel which was overpriced and very poor that night heating turned off at around 10 pm it was -2 outside so midddle of the night we were both freezing breakfast in the morning was stone cold and we were one of the first couples to go for breakfast needless to say I will not be ever staying here again and would definitely put someone off who is planning staying there
Rooms very dated. Didn’t seem that clean either. Just not great! Getting into them was a challenge in itself as the old fashioned keys were really hard to get in the lock and then didn’t turn properly (many people seemed to have the same issue).
Breakfast was okay, lots of choice but cheese selection was all dried up and the Scottish breakfast wasn’t that hot.
Had our works Christmas party night which was actually a great night and the entertainment was good but the food was so basic with no choice. Soup for starter - I’d never choose that. No cranberry sauce for the turkey!!
All in all, an okay place but by no means great. Has potential but everything just seems run down.
We stayed for two nights at Glynhill for the family funeral.
Pros: the room was spacious for the four of us (we travelled with two teenagers) and the room/ hotel was clean.
Cons: the mattresses on the beds were springy, you could feel the springs digging into your back as you slept. The pillows were rock solid, so we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. The furniture in the rooms was dated and the wood on the desk and little coffee table was bashed. There were some marks in the bath’s enamel too, and the bin was all rusty at the bottom. The breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about.
We were so looking forward to our stay, but we won’t be returning.
We visited as a group of 8 friends for an 80s and 90s party night. For £39 it was ok. Food was decent and bar queues were very quick. However, music was really really bad. We were expecting Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Erasure etc as advertised. Instead we got 60th birthday party at a bowling club; it’s raining men, Donna Summer etc. The 90s music was only marginally better, none of the good clubbing old school classics, it was more hardcore doof doof music like scooter. All in all, not a total flop but definitely not the night we were expecting based on the advertising.
Myself and my daughter had a spa day and afternoon tea. My daughter had neck and back massage. I had facial. The 2 girls who gave treatments were excellent. I had Georgie who was amazing. The other girl was fantastic too sorry can't remember her name. So attentive and informative. We attended on 15/11/25. Thanx girls for a lovely day.
