We stayed at Villa C on our way from the UK to S Portugal with 2 dogs .
The hotel was excellent and could not have been more accommodating for us and the dogs . Our dogs are 20 & 30+ kg so not small , we had warm welcome and the room was large and the bed was comfy , just what we needed after a long drive .
A beautiful beach ‘Azuria ‘less than a 1km away which the dogs loved ; we visited in January so all beaches are dog friendly for well behaved dogs . We walked around Vila do Conde in the evening which is also stunning and an ideal pitstop before heading South .
A lovely hotel and we very much appreciated the hospitality we received with the dogs . Would definitely stay again .
The Hotel has a good location, close to village center, to industrial zone and airport. Furthermore a delicious breakfast and very clean and well-equipped rooms.
Nice Hotel with a good wellness area, clean rooms, and a good selection for breakfast. Parking available on site, good location, relatively central but still very quiet. Good view from the balcony.
The ac was not working, it only came out cold. That needs to be fixed, but the staff arranged an heater.
Always a pleasure to visit the Hotel, an extraordinary stay as always, very welcoming and friendly staff overall.
Amazing staff and service. Nice hotel and nice restaurant but the Indoor pool's mirror needs repair!
We enjoyed our stay. The room was great. The included breakfast was excellent. There was a lot of choice: eggs, bacon, ham cheeses, breads, yoygurt, fruit, etc.
The hotel overall was fine, but it was not of the highest standards. There was no body cream in the bathroom, and the hot water took a long time to come through. In the room, there was a desk but no chair, so to do some work I had to go to the designated room downstairs. Quite a few items on the restaurant menu were not available.
Villa C is a very nice boutique hotel. It is situated on the other side of town (across the river) but only a short 5-10 minute walk. The rooms are large and very comfortable. They have a restaurant and bar on the main floor. This is a very nice hotel.
Schönes Hotel mit geräumigen Zimmern
Das Früstück lässt keine wünsche offen.
Abends kann man auch zu später Stunde noch den indoorpool benutzen
It was very clean and friendly. Great staff abd room
What a gem! I walked the Portuguese Coastal Camino and stayed at the Villa C Boutique Hotel. So impressed, Breatriz was so accommodating, from the time I checked in until she departed for the evening she made sure all was good with my stay. I was also impressed with Fabiana who took the time to go over the menu for dinner, great conversation. Also, her suggestion for dinner was spot on and I was so impressed with her in-depth knowledge of food and liquor. I can vouch for Fabiana’s recommendation to try the passion fruit sangria, a yummy mix of fresh fruits and flavors. So pleased to have stayed here and also that Breatriz asked “what are your dinner plans”. Both ladies made this a relaxing enjoyable stay, with dinner being the icing on the cake. You should be proud of all your staff, as they were all commendable. Definitely customer satisfaction oriented! Five stars and a most memorable stay. I definitely recommend.
Great facility and food.
I rarely write reviews for hotels, but I decided to make an exception this time. We overlooked some of the negative feedback for this hotel in favor of the positive reviews and overall rating. That was a mistake. In my 15 years of active traveling, this was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. It was only the second hotel we’ve ever wanted to leave immediately, and we even booked another hotel for two nights just to spend less time here. Some issues were simply unacceptable for any hotel, regardless of the price. Below are the details of what was good, bad, and unacceptable.
🟢 Let me start with good things:
* Staff is very friendly
* Reception and restaurant look nice at first glance
* Breakfast is acceptable
* Underground parking is available, though spaces are quite tight
* About a 15-minute walk to the beach, with a decent path
* The beach has a beautiful walking path for many kilometers, long enough for morning or evening runs over 10 km
* Several pillow options are available
* Plenty of space to sit, talk, or even work if needed
🔴 What was bad (for the price)? Maybe it was a great hotel in the past, but it clearly hasn’t been properly maintained for some time.
* Rust is visible everywhere: on stairs, walls, heaters, and even around the swimming pool. Since the hotel is decorated with metal by design, it looks even worse in the ocean climate
* The indoor swimming pool is in poor condition, with algae or mildew visible on the floor. We normally enjoy using hotel pools, but this one was below our standards.
* The pool is heavily chlorinated, and the strong smell spreads throughout the entire hotel. It was noticeable at the reception and on all floors, and even for someone without respiratory issues it was unpleasant to breathe
* Reception seems well maintained, but the floors do not. The carpet on the first floor was a clear sign of poor cleanliness
‼️ What was totally unacceptable (for any hotel, at any price)? We even tried to change the room, but it was useless, as suggested room had same issues.
* Mold on the walls. This was the first time I have ever seen visible mold left untreated in a hotel. It is unhealthy to stay in such conditions.
* Very bad smell in the rooms. There was a constant smell of dampness and mold. Ventilation brought in bad odors as well, and even keeping the balcony open all the time did not help. In the mornings, a terrible sewer smell came from the bathroom and quickly spread throughout the room
Since we booked through Booking, we didn’t try to get a refund. Instead, we booked another hotel for a few nights. Fortunately, we had a car and the flexibility to do so. For the same price, even with same-day booking, there are better options available. I hope you can avoid our mistake.
I am sharing photos of the mold, rust, and swimming pool.
The spa is incredible. Pedro is an absolute master, and the sole reason i hope to return!
The hotel tries hard to be 'upmarket', but it's not pulling it off!! At a 'boutique hotel', I expected high standards. This is offered in some parts, such as the glass bottles of water replaced in rooms daily.
I booked a superior deluxe room, but I struggle to see how this is what I received. No robe, stained pillows, having to run the shower for at least 5 minutes to get hot water and then the temperature varied constantly whilst showering, Conditioner not topped up despite being completely empty, cheap plastic bathtub in a marble-tiled bathroom...
The restaurant is cheap with great pizzas, most of the staff are friendly. But in future, I will book somewhere else to stay and book into the spa separately.
Great hotel with lovely views. Had the pleasure to visit last month. The decoration is modern and cosy at the same time, with some rustic and traditional elements combined. The facilities are great, such as rhe indoor swimming pool (with perfect temperature). The restaurant is also very nice and the variety of choices is great. The Spa avaliable is also just what we needed, specially after travelling with kids. The staff is nice and friendly. Recommended it no doubt.
This hotel was a little out of my budget but absolutely no regrets and worth every penny when I stayed there! The crew there absolutely made me feel so welcome and really love their vibe and the vibe of the hotel! Would def recommend and go again, for sure!!!
This is a great, clean, friendly hotel. Lovely indoor pool, delicious breakfasts and friendly staff.
Limited food options, small menus, and same food everyday for the breakfast. Pillows were huge, and uncomfortable, but AC worked great. Most of the staff was friendly, and did a great job.
The service is excellent and the food is good.
There is a lack of maintenance which is letting the hotel fall down in category, water marks and rust, there are no towel warmers in the rooms so you have to change the towels every day. the hotel is olive coloured and the lack of decoration doesn't help the decadent atmosphere. Spa water looks dull, and the pool wood is rotting, it's a shame because they seem to have great activities on the water.
