Pleasant and relaxing apart from the noise level in the dining area and bar.
Pros:

The room was spacious and very comfortable.
The spa and large swimming pool on our floor were a big bonus.

Cons:

The food at dinner and breakfast was indifferent. For breakfast, better bread and more fresh fruit would be welcome, as would at least one more coffee machine—the current two are insufficient for the large number of guests.
My biggest negative is the horrible level of the noise in the dining and bar areas, particularly in the evening when these are crowded. The walls, floor and ceiling seem to amplify the sound of talking, etc. to an unbearable cacophony. Couldn't some sound-damping materials be installed?

Golf & Brighton
Pros:

The room was very spacious, overall feel of the hotel was nice and since we were playing golf - very close by! Personnel at the golf club was extremely helpful and friendly! Close to Brighton, but felt fully within the countryside-vibe

Cons:

Hassle with the swimming of the kids - did not find the staff at the health club very fond of hotel clientele either. Facilities at the (external) gym were fine though.

I’m really disappointed about the amount of money I spent on this. It was my partners birthday and I wanted it to be rea
Cons:

The bed was just 2 single beds pushed together and the duvet was 2 singles zipped together. Me and my partner were going for a romantic night away and this was awful. There was a huge gap between us and a zip in our faces.
I also called down for champagne glasses twice and we never received them. Our food that we ordered took over an hour to arrive and when we did get it it was cold and the burger was grissly and under cooked.
Our balcony was covered in bird very old bird poo. The glasses in the room weren’t clean.
The shampoo was almost empty so only one of us could use it. There was clearly a leak in the room above as the whole ceiling was damp.

Good location and fabulous grounds and scenery.
Pros:

This is a great location for visiting Eastbourne or the opera house at Glyndebourne. The hotel has a golf course (or two) and extensive grounds. Several of the rooms have far-reaching views across Sussex. The communal areas were clean and contemporary style. There's a swimming pool and gym and plenty of car parking space. The bar had ale and a good range of other beverages. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice and it was good to see that items were replenished in good time. The quality of produce used was exceptional with lovely fresh water melon and pineapple, tasty bacon and sausages, and great eggs. Plenty for those who just wanted continental style too. The views from our room were great and there was a little balcony to sit and enjoy al fresco. The staff were very professional and pleasant and gave us comprehensive information about the hotel. Complimentary water bottles in the room were welcome.

Cons:

We booked an accessible (disabled) room (235) and, although it was on the entry level, it was a very long walk from reception and the restaurant. My wife does not use a wheelchair but has pronounced mobility problems so we asked for something nearer. The reception staff was very kind and allocated another room (215) but it was only a little nearer to reception. If you're not a wheelchair user, be aware of this issue. Some bits of the hotel are now looking tired. For example, our balcony door was warped and wouldn't close properly at the top, the coating on the balcony railings was flaking, parts of the restaurant looked shabby and the bathroom wasn't well cleaned. For a disabled bathroom, the dispensers for toiletries were set too high on the wall. I was delighted to see ale on tap in the bar but I had to give up trying to get a pint because there was a large number of people in the bar (some party or group of delegates) with only one member of staff serving. After waiting 10 minutes!!! I decided it would have to be a cuppa in the room instead.

Golfers delight
Pros:

refurbished, quiet rooms next to fabulous golf court, even Glyndebourne Opera festival in 15 minutes drive reach.

Cons:

Our bathroom was "original" and not refurbished. Also the balcony shows that some make over at and in the builiding is still in need
