Daugirdas Hotel

I stayed for three nights at this hotel on a trip of the Baltic States.
I actually really enjoyed the hotel - the staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel was very well located at the edge of the old town, with the town square, several good restaurants of different cuisines and a little mini-market all within a few minutes' walking distance.
In my room, 213, the bed was comfortable, though was very obviously two single bases pushed together, with single quilts (common I believe in this part of the world) and 2 overlapping single bedspreads (which didn't look great). The room was kept at a good temperature, and had a fully opening window and door (to nowhere) for looking out and access to (very) fresh air as it was -15C outside. There was a very interesting rear-church view. The shower gave an excellent flow rate and was very controllable. Everything was clean.
The room was somewhat dated in design. It had more of a 90s look though I liked it. The in-room telephone didn't work, requiring me to visit reception in person. I used the hotel laundry service which was excellent value and returned to me on time. The housekeeping service was good, focused on the bathroom and any rubbish removal. I was pleased that getting the room serviced was automatic i.e. I didn't have to "opt-in" as I had at other hotels, though I'm not used to not having the bed made as part of daily housekeeping. That was just left. Not too big a deal overall but unexpected.
On my first night, I'm confident there was practically no-one staying at the hotel. For the second night, there were a few more people in the hotel. My main criticism is that the room wasn't soundproof enough - people in the adjacent room were talking loudly and sneezing late at night, and this could be heard readily, as could noise from the floor above. As a relatively light sleeper, this affected my sleep somewhat.
I was somewhat disappointed that the hotel's restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday, which were my first two nights.

Very nice hotel in a great location in Kaunas Old Town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and the breakfast was great - a lot of variety and good service. Would definitely recommend.

I recently stayed at the Daugirdas Hotel for two nights and it did the job perfectly. The location is really handy for exploring Kaunas — just a short walk from the Old Town and river area.
My room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. It’s a bit traditional in style but felt cosy and well-kept. I’ve attached a couple of photos to give an idea of what it’s like.
The staff were pleasant and check-in was quick and easy. I didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment on that, but overall it was great value for money and ideal for a short stay. Would definitely consider staying again next time I’m in Kaunas.

Helpful staff, big room and lovely breakfast

Check in was fine and staff were friendly. We had to change rooms after one night but this was sorted promptly and very efficiently done. The room (with balcony) which we had for a week was very clean however the team cleaning the room didn't make up our bed particularly well on a couple of occasions (1st world problem I know!). We ate in the restaurant on one occasion and the food was ok. Waiting staff weren't the friendliest but I guess they'd had a long day and wanted to get finished. Overall, a great location if you are visiting Kaunas old town. Would we stay there again, yes.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Kaunas old town close to everything. Interesting design, friendly staff and amazing breakfast.

The property was very convenient for the river and the old town centre, with many of the attractions and bsrs and csfes within easy walking distance

Nice hotel with blend of old and new building. Good breakfast. Hotel parking not existing so need to park on the street, which can be expensive or not easy to find free of charge (late hours and nights) spot. However, hotel staff advice on this matter.

Good hotel, but the rooms are tired and worn, with an unpleasant smell. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired and there are many spiders. Breakfast is modest but filling and the location is excellent!

Excellent reception staff. Our room was spacious and quiet. There’s a nice park nearby with a beautiful playground for kids, and many restaurants nearby.

Room was big and clean. Hotel was near the castle, good location for sight seeing.

Very nice Hotel in Old Town. Rooms are as described on website, adequate beds comfortable room cleaned only issue was TV not working, but didn't bother us to be fair. Food on the rooftop bar excellent, really enjoyed our meal there and staff friendly and efficient. Very close to old town so ideally positioned. Was there for a football game for a couple of days, but a lovely town to visit, and would stay in this hotel if revisiting.

A great hotel in a wonderful location, just a short stroll from the castle, old town and other landmarks.
