We stayed at the Royal in May so this was a return visit. Position of hotel is superb.
Pros:

Twin bed room was clean but the beds not very comfy, bathroom clean but bad layout, nowhere to stand toiletries near hand basin had to keep everything at end of bath, hand towel rail not within reach of sink and toilet roll holder unreachable when sitting on toilet…… dining room food was very good

Cons:

Hard bed, would improve with memory foam mattress.
Reconfiguration of bathroom to make it user friendly,

Never again
Pros:

Not a lot

Cons:

The room was not clean to a decent standard. Everything in the room is dated including the bed. The location is the only real positive thing I can say.

Pros:

The staff was lovely and let us check in early with no issues the vue from the room was amazing and very big room.

We was told on arravel we had a little suprise and a suprise it was been upgraded in room. For years ive always wanted to stay hear but its always been booked up to finaly come and for them to do this was so lovely and defntly made it worth the wait. We defntly be staying hear every time in the future.

Unforchantly we didnt get breackfast hear but defntly will next time but after a wonder round and seeing the bar rooms and looking at the menu it defnly looks worth the money.

Cons:

The one downside I can only say the mens toilet downstairs across from the entrance to the pool smell revolting and you can smell it from opening the door at the top of the stairs.

The room we had was a little dull and dusty but for a old hotel and design its exspected. I just feel if the paint in the room was a few shades lighter it would transorm the room and make it feel a lot more moden.

First impressions on the hotel were great, unfortunately that’s where it ends.
Pros:

Location was great

Cons:

The room was filthy, rubbish under the beds, dead flies and bits of food on the carpets.
Black mould and dead spiders in the bathroom.
Toilet seat was broken.
