the room was very clean and the bed was really comfy. Plenty of useful things like iron kettle etc in the room and the WiFi was good.
Its abit dated but other than that its cant find anything to complain about.
It was a pleasant stay food was excellent only one problem which I have listed below
The one with i didn't like is that there was some sort of commotion where there was shouting and banging in the early hours of the morning apart from that would highly recommend
Everything
Nothing
Bed was comfy
Room was full of moths the window had a towel wedged in it to stop the draft and rain coming in also with working late not finishing till 2.30 a.m on Thursday morning I was stood outside ringing the night bell to gain access to hotel for nearly a hour in the cold wind and rain. Till the night staff opened the door also tried ringing reception numerous times to get no answer.
Location was ok and the staff very nice, and we had a few enjoyable hours in the spa.
Booked Dinner bed and breakfast. When we checked in told thee kitchen had be closed for that morning for a few weeks to save money, and if we wanted Breakfast and dinner we had to walk to the sister hotel. We have seen horrific reviews of the sister hotel so got a refund for dinner and went else where. The breakfast was served 8-9 and was OK, but the food was cleared away at exactly 9am, no warning because the staff are having to work on restricted hours. The beds very comfy but the routing in the bathroom was incredibly black and mouldy and some massive cobwebs in the room broken lamp by the bed. If someone had taken the time to ring us before we arrived we would of postponed the trip until the kitchen was opened so we didnt have to go out on the night.
Close to all the places we needed, nice and open room, tv was good. Shower was nice and hot No issues with that.
Put 2 single beds together when ordered a double room. Blood stains on blankets in the cupboard and out of date milk.
its character
nothing
Impressive building , nice comfortable room.
Some of it needed attention to maintenance particularly external windows. However, appreciate that it was a huge building in an exposed sea front location. I was meeting people there late afternoon for a business meeting but no refreshments available. Also the bar closed earlier than anticipated in the evening despite staff being around.
Booked single room but got upgraded to the good Churchillsuite Seaview double room. Good sunrise and unexpected. Felt homely.
Restaurant closed
Beautiful building, fantastic value for money
The room we checked into first was nice but there was no power and the manager couldn’t find the right keys to the cupboard to sort it out so we were moved to another room which wasn’t very clean and the bathroom was a bit smelly and there was a draft coming through the window frame but as we were there for only one night we didn’t complain … but don’t think we will stay again .
