Ideal location on edge of town with easy access to beach. Food very good.
Pros:

Wonderful location, food and choice very good, room and bathroom both clean. All staff were very helpful and friendly. My sister and I had a twin bed sea view suite which was very nicely decorated and furnished in oriental style. We were looking for somewhere to regularly stay and the Royal was ideal. We will certainly go back there.

Cons:

The cafe at the side which is part of the royal, we wanted tea and scones one lunch time, was completely ignored by the girl serving who walked past us several times, I even went up to the counter to order and was still ignored as the server was sitting in a corner nattering to someone…….SO WE WALKED OUT.

Mixture of feeling
Pros:

The location is great . The Pen house suite had a great view of scarbrough looking at the harbour and the castle

Cons:

We had the pen house suite which is located at the very top of the royal hotel . We except a walk in Shower. There was some damage in the bath tub . The television in bedroom didn’t work . Also the bedroom there were knob missing on the wardrobe. In the lounge area you could see there been some water damage on the ceiling near the television. Also one night the fire alarm went off and we phone the receptionist found out it was a false alarm . We were very worried if we got stuck in the pen house suite.

Didn’t end up staying due to the condition of the room. will not book again
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Room was dusty, rubbish in wardrobe, bathroom was full of limescale, last persons clothes under the chair, 2 single beds pushed together to make a double, mattress was really thin, We had to book a room elsewhere with both our young children.
Photos dont do it justice and there only the few photos i got with having to find somewhere else to stay!
