Well we got to the hotel and they didn’t even have our reservation ready, and they couldn’t find it, after that we had to wait like 20 minutes for them to finally find it and at the end we ended up paying more because they said it was only for two adults even doe our room was for 4 adults with two beds. The two ladies at the front weren’t even nice when they were asking for our information the only people that was nice was the bellman/porter.
Location was great but noisy. The bathroom was smelly my entire stay.maybe back flow water or drainage issues here.
staff pleasant.
I’ve stayed many times and I always come back. Great location and a quiet hotel but near everything you want.
Great property with A/C and a pool. Located very central in town. Shuttle from airport is easy peasy.
Limited options, staff not nice
I have stayed at Eloisa nearly every year the last 10 years for 10 days to 2 weeks each trip. My last trip 14 months ago I said, “never again”. But I’ve loved this old no frills hotel and decided to try once more (June 2025). Putting a fork in it. This will be the last time…sadly. Employees I’ve seen there every year over the last 10 years…all gone. New young employees don’t even make eye contact. Room I reserved (through hotels.com) did not match description. Admittedly, I didn’t complain because I was a solo traveler. Didn’t matter that I had a standard double bed rather than a king. Ceiling fan in every room? Not in mine. Blackout curtains…not exactly!!
Icing on the cake was card/lock on room door quit working the last morning there before checkout. Told it was fixed. Didn’t leave room the last 2.5 hours before I checked out because I would have been locked out and didn’t trust “the fix” since Uber to airport was ordered, I needed to finalize packing and get a shower. A short visit to the rooftop pool was too risky to trust I’d get back in my room.
When I approached front desk to check out with luggage in tow, I informed the employee the door lock was still not working. She wanted me to wait for maintenance to get into my room so housekeeping could get in and inventory the mediocre blankets, towels and whatever else they thought I might not be able to live without.
My uber arrived and I walked away. Sorry Eloisa….you blew your last chance.
Oh…and don’t forget the dead roaches inside and out the room. At least they were dead….
If you want to stay at a place that is walking distance to bars and restaurants then this is a pretty good place to stay. The only thing i didn't like was paying for guests to go to my room. Be mindful of your AC remote control and store it somewhere safe, because mine went missing and only hotel staff had access to my room. Also, if you are a light sleeper, then i would avoid staying in rooms facing the park. I don't know how the other rooms are with noise. Overall i enjoyed my stay here.
This hotel is a hidden gem!!! The perfect location to everything. The front desk staff are very accomodating, the property is absolutely spotless. The pools were very refreshing and the roof top area was breathtaking with beautiful views of the bay.
I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.
The property was ok. The day staff was friendly and smiled. The night staff was the opposite. Never smiled ir even made eye contact. The visitor policy is not good if you have friends who want to stop by. They charge $20 per visitor
Bathroom had a strong smell of drainage all day that bathroom door must be closed all the times, and mosquitoes..
Other than being close to the beach, the hotel was very dirty, no microwave, no iron, no blow dryer and the batrooms were literally open to the outside, and we were lucky no critters got in. They wouldn't give us clean towels unless we had the room cleaned by the maid service, which we didn't want.
Great location. Close tot he beach and night life
I would have given 5 stars except for no WiFi in rooms. Each room has a cable box which turned out to be its own WiFi router with password in the router. Even so, signal was really bad. There is “passable” WiFi in common areas (8-20mbps). Besides this, location, amazing. Room, amazing. Staff, amazing.
If I go back to Puerto Vallarta, definetely I will stay in "Eloisa". The staff is amazing and super helpful people.
This hotel is tired and needs some renovations to update rooms. It is located really well but the rooms are small and crowded. The pool on the roof top is very small. The hotel is clean and located well.
We liked the welcome and the convenient location.
This hotel is well kept, safe and comfortable. My only complaint is lack of hot water for a morning shower. However, if you wanted a shower later in the day, there was plenty. This hotel is in a perfect location with great views and a comfortable bed.
This hotel is quite nice for the price, the hotel was clean, the room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. You can’t beat the location, about 100m off the Malecón, about a block and a half from the pier, and so close to the beach it was incredible. The street vendors and restaurants so close were amazing.
The downside though, this is a hotel, that we booked to be able to sleep in. We tried to be a couple blocks off the main area and close to the park in hopes of sleep. The bar downstairs pumped base and loud music until 2am, we were on the floor directly above it. If I was to stay here again, I would only do so on the promise that we would be guaranteed a room on a higher floor and on the inside so that it wasn’t vibrating through the floor from below.
Other than that, great location, great pool, great staff.
