Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort by IHG

We just got home. We travel worldwide and as always this hotel is our favorite anywhere. The location is great right across the street from the beach and pier. The hotel has a great vibe and open air floor plan. So many little touches like coolers in room to take to the beach. Every thing from boogie boards to bikes available for the asking. The best part is the staff. Hotel Manager Jackie has done a great job. The following are just some of the wonderful people that make this a home away from home. Front desk --- Spencer. It is so lovely to be back at my favorite Kimpton property in the United States! This boutique hotel makes you feel right at home, and the staff is like a family. Right across from the beach, near the pier, and tucked away just enough to feel cozy. Everyone was awesome, as always, but a special shout out to Jessica at the front desk. Congrats Shorebreak Huntingon on winning best Kimpton property! Much deserved.

My husband and I were stuck in LA for a few extra days due to flight cancellations. We decided to stay at the Kimpton, and after seeing the property, didn’t want to leave! The hotel had a really unique vibe with great amenities including infused water, coffee/tea in the morning, and a beautiful courtyard. The king suite was a great set-up for working, and the location across from the pier/beach was perfect. Bradley at reception made us feel welcome and well cared for. Highly recommend!

I made my reservations directly at the hotel through Jordan at the front desk. She was very welcoming and genuinely cared about my stay and helping me to have a very positive experience with my dog. This is an updated review after we’ve had a couple more stays here as a family. The vibe is fantastic and the hotel has an incredibly friendly, tenured staff. The location is fantastic and the hotel is very much a reflection of the community that it resides in, this is uncanny, and very rare!
And I have now been corrected by my sister, the record players in the rooms actually work! They are not “nonsensical” decorations that take up space” as I had previously mentioned on an older review that I have now deleted, my bad! The water pressure isn’t great in the showers, but so be it. They blame this on “California code”, but I’ve stayed at dozens of other hotels within California with no issue. But that said, it’s not a dealbreaker. You can’t go wrong booking here if you want to stay in Huntington Beach. They have free afternoon beer and wine etc. - who else does that?! They also are very pet friendly. I apologize for the review that I did a year and a half ago; it was not thoughtful. I’m grateful for this neighborhood hotel and I highly recommend it.

All the staff at Kimpton Shorebreak were top notch but Ana and Jordan set the stage and were more than accommodating and helpful, thanks so much ladies you two made our stay memorable and hope to visit again!

From the moment we walked in and had an encounter with Anna at the front desk- the experience just kept getting better and better. The availability of room options, the amenities, the dining experiences. I would return here over and over again over the local competition. The hospitality and accommodations are off the chain! Not to mention the ocean view room. 😍😍😍

This place is built for hanging out! ping pong, games, and social vibes with happy hours running all day. The staff is awesome, the restaurant and bar are solid, and you’re right next to all the action. I stayed in a studio suite and the room was super clean with a soaking tub and a Dyson hair dryer, which was a nice upgrade from the usual hotel setup. Easily the best IHG hotel I’ve ever stayed at and an easy yes for a return trip.

I am a manager of high end vacation rentals. Service here is exceptional. Shout out to Bradley, Jordan and Kell. They really took care of us and our special needs dog. Hotel is pricey. There are alot of additional taxes and costs but worth it. An exceptional experience! Location is perfect too!

We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton Shorebreak and everyone we encountered was incredibly kind and welcoming. We had asked about a possible room upgrade, and Bradley went above and beyond to help us with a truly beautiful upgrade for my birthday weekend :) From the moment we arrived he made us feel at home and genuinely honored as guests. His kindness, professionalism and care made our stay feel special rather than routine. Bradley is a standout, and the entire staff contributed to a memorable, comfortable experience. room was clean the bedding was amazing. We will absolutely stay her again.

Our dinner was extra special because Lauren was super attentive to our needs. The food was excellent as was her service.We are newlyweds and the manager Paul was kind and hospitable and helped us have a special evening as well! We will be back again and again. We have always liked The Shorebreak Restaurant, now we Love it!

Location, very comfortable beds, quiet rooms, unexpected amenities (S’more kits for the outdoor fire pits, loaner bicycles, and other fun touches), helpful staff.

This was the first time I've ever stayed at a Kimpton! I've stayed at other IHG properties, but this was so different compared to those. Less corporate, more fun, and more relaxing. From the check in experience (shout out to Carly and Jordan!) to the checkout experience, I kept running into pleasant surprises! Like the free smores, the bikes, the location, even the gym! I can't wait to go back with my family and would highly recommend others to give this Kimpton a go! Looking forward to the next one!

Super nice helpful staff members. Carly, Spencer and Jordan went overboard to make us feel at home and welcome. The hotel was clean and we kept saying to each other how good the place smelled. Our room was really nice and the decor was beachy and comfortable.i would definitely recommend to all my friends. Look for Carly. She is sweet and has a great attitude. She is an asset to the hotel! 5 stars!!!!!

Anna was super accommodating, had a great time. Great location, also super nice sun and the food in the area is outstanding.
