WORST hotel we’ve ever stayed at
Pros:

Great location, only about 10 minutes from Mount Rushmore. The breakfast was also very good, with plenty of protein options (eggs and sausages), as well as delicious oatmeal, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, coffee, and juice.

Cons:

We were given a dog-friendly room on the first floor, which was not only “dog-friendly” but felt more like a dog-abusing room. Allowing guests to stay with large dogs in a room with less than 3 feet of usable space is simply NOT OK. You cannot see from the photos just how tiny these rooms are. They are absolutely not designed to accommodate 2 adults and a child or 2 adults and a dog comfortably.

The entire hotel property has only a tiny strip of grass behind the building, which is being used almost like a dumpster for cleaning liquids, hoses, and random equipment. Once again, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A DOG-FRIENDLY PLACE.

The room itself was filthy. Everything in the bathroom was worn and rusted, and the carpet was sticky and covered in stains. You can definitely tell that they only do a quick surface-level cleanup between guests and pay absolutely no attention to the details. We even found someone’s used socks behind the bed.

On top of that, the room smelled strongly of mold, mildew, and chemicals that seemed to be used to cover up the awful odor.

And the cherry on top: our $200 room had a direct view of the dog poop station.

Decent for price.
Pros:

Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was just ok. Rooms were clean and adequate. Nothing to rave about. Location is ok. Up on a hill overlooking town. Can't really walk to places since the hill would be a climb. Decent for the price I paid

I’ve stayed here about 4 times now during the rally. Went the smaller town of keystone versus Sturgis area.

Location is great. The room was great. Staff helpful.

Cons:

Took two request for a shower curtain to be fixed. Took two request to get linen and towels change. Breakfast was the same everyday we were there. The need to have a variety of breakfast not just eggs and sausage.

We enjoyed Mt. Rushmore, but the room was just not comfortable and as clean as we like.
