Useless shower as didn't use bath and shower kept collapsing.

A Room with a View (of the sea)
Pros:

We needed to stay an extra night in Deal and The Royal Hotel was a great option. Though it was quite unexpected, we were given an upgrade to a balcony room, which had a great view and a claw foot tub in addition to the large bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable and the balcony was great for eating and watching the world go by. The included breakfast, served in our room, was spectacular. We now intend to make a balcony room at the Royal our first choice the next time we go to Deal.

Pros:

I loved the history of the hotel and that they have kept the original character of the rooms in any modernization. The location could not be better, right on the sea front with the middle of town less than 1 minute away.

Cons:

I couldn’t find any controls for the heating.

Beach front comfort.
Pros:

The hotel is big but feels welcoming and has an old fashioned atmosphere. It does have modern facilities though. The tea and coffee in the room was lovely with the addition of a nespresso machine too. Our room was spacious with an adapted bathroom, having drop down seat in the walk in shower and rails at the toilet. The free standing bath looked beautiful, and while we are unable to use a bath, I imagined it would be lovely to use. The dining areas are nice, food was good. Breakfast especially nice, cold buffet great and cooled breakfast to order. Enjoyed a night away from home to celebrate our anniversary.

Cons:

I had a problem with the ringgo parking app. In no way the fault of the hotel but that's the only thing that annoyed me. I did get it fixed though, so all ok.

Excellent place to stay if you visit Deal
Pros:

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal hotel very much. The location was absolutely beautiful, the room was perfect and the staff were really lovely and very helpful

Cons:

In the description of the room it stated there was a alarm clock and a iron and ironing board, both of these were not available. The bathroom was excellent but the shower was not very efficient at all

Checking in and out was tricky. Reception wasn’t always manned which made it difficult if you were pushed for time. Wouldn’t stop me coming back though!
