Location. Views. Some of the breakfast, worst poached eggs ever and poor cleanliness of cups(hair in the cup). Looked like pet hair. Dusty saucer. Wanted to eat evening meal in the restaurant. Price point indicates table service, however, due to 'staff shortage' asked to order at the bar. We went elsewhere. Noisy dog heard in our room and doggy smell in reception. Leaving the hotel, we were met by 4 or 5 workers sitting on the stairs and landing below, on their phones. Uncomfortable as appears couldn't waot to get rid of us. Mix of good and bad. Husband wants to revisit, i love the location amd the history of the hotel, so would revisit, knowing what to look out for.

Cons:

See above. Smelly noisy dogs and some cleanliness issues. Awful poached eggs. Would visit again, knowing what to avoid.

Great for an overnight stay.
Pros:

Spacious room amd comfortable bed. Great location on the sea front, and parking was possible in the adjoining public car park. Really excellent breakfast with wide choice on the menu. The historic building is charmingly quirky, but the downside is no air conditioning - not ideal in a heatwave!

Cons:

The Nespresso coffee machine in the room was very welcome, but strangely no milk products were provided. Perhaps just an oversight?

Great place to stay, close parking at small extra cost,

Cons:

The lift not working did add an issue, as we were on the top floor.

View of the pier .
Very comfortable stay.

Cons:

The early morning traffic and bin men . The hotel is on a busy road so traffic noise is to be expected and the bins need emptying.
Unfortunately the lift was out of order .

A pleasant stay
Pros:

We stayed for 2 nights. The family room was clean and spacious. We were not in a sea facing room and unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the road. One of the windows in the room didn’t close properly which made it worse although it cooled the room down during the night. For breakfast on the first morning I ordered pancakes with fruit and Greek yogurt but when it arrived there was no yogurt on it. I asked the waitress why there was no yogurt on and she told me quite abruptly it didn’t come with yogurt. I looked at the menu after breakfast and showed it to another staff member who confirmed it did come with yogurt. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening and I ordered Lobster Thermidor which was over cooked and tough. Breakfast the next day was good and there was yogurt. All other staff members were pleasant and helpful.
