After having 2 flight cancellations due the 13 Mar ground stop all Washington, DC area airports, it was 1am Sat morning and I was needing a hotel room. I'm a frequent customer of Archer Tysons and love how they always have a live person at the front desk to answer calls (unlike other hotel chain systems). So I immediately knew I could call the Archer Hotel in Old Town Alexandria (just a few miles south of DCA) and when I did, Ravneet answered the phone immediately. She was tremendously helpful booking my short stay and then gave me a very warm and welcoming reception when I arrived. Also, Mackenzie was most helpful and kind in the morning for breakfast recommendations and offering a late check out before heading back to DCA to catch my flight home. Archer Old Town is now one of my favorite places to stay when I visit this area thanks to the very warm hospitality by Ravneet, Mackenzie and one of your room cleaners who was in the doorway and offered a very nice good morning and smile! Warm Regards - new loyal customer!
The Archer was a wonderful experience! It is in the heart of Old Alexandria, with great food and shopping close by. I had two main goals: get peaceful rest and have time with family. Both were beautifully accomplished at the Archer.
The Archer is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to explore Old Town! My husband and I enjoyed our weekend away staying at The Archer Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well furnished. We'd definitely stay there again.
The location in Old Town Alexandria a big plus, though it is not the only hotel there, including some of the big national chains. My internet search for a hotel was quick and I didn't notice that some of the more familiar hotels were in Old Town, too. I'm glad I didn't go with one of the big chains because the Archer was just right for my needs. I It is a 5 minute walk from a Metro Station that gets you to Reagan National Airport and into the center of DC in 15 minutes on a busy day. The hotel staff and hotel routines are efficient about everything while being unfailing personalized in their approach. A couple of problems came up for me, and because the Archer was so forgiving (I needed to cancel the day of a reservation in January due to poor travel conditions) and helpful with little things (arranging for me to have an electric tea kettle in my room for my morning tea), I see myself as a future Archer customer. One complaint: No complimentary breakfast.
I spent 3 nights at The Archer with my daughter. It was a great experience from the friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable rooms , and excellent on site restaurants. The location is perfect for walking around visiting shops, bars and other restaurants. I would definitely stay here my next visit.
Great location. Wonderful hotel with great staff. Our room was awesome. Would highly recommend staying here and hope to come back soon for another visit!
Nice spacious rooms, location within walking distance to the metro. Food was good. Staff beyond helpful -- from the front desk to the event planner to the food and AV staff. An enjoyable stay and will stay there again whether for business or pleasure.
Great location! As soon as you walk outside your in the heart of it all. The staff was very polite and warming with no unnecessary attitude. Room was clean spacious and comfortable.
2 weeks spent in a in a terrace suite left me with mixed feelings.Spacious and separate lounge with a generous sofa was very comfortable. Main shortcoming was the layout as the bathroom was off the living room rather than the bedroom and with only a frosted glass door that was hard up against the toilet so it was very close and way too unprivate! I don’t need to see and hear everything behind the bathroom glass sliding door.
Wifi was fast with a proper desk to work. Comfortable bed , but linens often worn with small tears. Large quality bath towels were provided. Airconditioner was noisy but it kept us warm.
The house keeping was generally good but request at checkin for water to be provided every day was not always followed up. The daily sweet treats are nice but repetitive and not much variety.
$25 voucher to use at bar or breakfast restaurant was disproportionate to my length of stay, a good value bonus for a very short stay only.
Staff at front desk were programmed to say welcome back but it seemed very mechanical and insincere, not a very friendly vibe.
Location is very central with easy walk to station and great variety of restaurants near by. We used the free Dash bus to head further up King St as the very cold, snowy weather was not ideal for walking.
The kindest staff and the comfiest bedding I've ever slept in. Definitely staying there again when we go to visit our friends!
Excellent, professional staff and thoughtfully appointed, simple, comfy and very clean rooms. We enjoyed a delicious cocktail and a great breakfast. Love this hotel and it’s location, walking distance to all.
Gorgeous bathrooms and showers, beautiful courtyard!
No microwave in rooms to warm up meals.
Though we were there for a funeral (Homegoing) , we were thoroughly pleased with the care that was taken with our stay. Front desk staff was exceptionally attentive. The room and hallway was spotless. The area had a lot of walkable gems to eat and shops to shop. It’s a very safe place seemingly day and night. We enjoyed our stay.
Lovely hotel, however,....We booked multiple rooms in advance; the rates dropped significantly in a hotel advertised online special, but they would not honor the advertised lower prices. BEWARE!
This was a disappointing stay. The Archer bought out another hotel and updated it to add to their portfolio. We moved to this hotel from their three star hotel in Falls Church to be closer to our son. We had a better quality experience in the 3 star. They forgot to give us the $25 coupon to use in either of the two restaurants so on our last day when we had breakfast we were told we needed it and lost out. They didn’t replace the coffee or cups one day, they didn’t replace the glassware the next day. We requested a top sheet to be added to our bedding instead of just the duvet and they left it on top of the bed so we had to pull the bed apart and add it ourselves. We requested extra pillows and did not receive them. The 24 square foot bathroom and large entryway were nice to have but overkill as it made the living room space super small and tight placing it on an angle. They only had one sink in a massive space. They didn’t provide the bathroom amenities that the 3 star did. Parking was $40 per day something I think was excessive. The location was great and nice to be able to walk to the shops and restaurants along King street and the courtyard was beautiful although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it. I hope they tighten up the housekeeping and services because it has better potential.
Nice bar and a restaurant nearby. Easy access to metro. Great location. Each day there were various candies in our room. The special heart and lighting bolt slippers were fun. The lobby area was a nice place to wait to meet our family. Great value and clean room. The staff was responsive to our questions.
What a great hotel with staff that go the extra mile to make your experience special and memorable. We went there for an anniversary stay-cation and the staff made the experience like a second honeymoon.
Great boutique feeling hotel that's steps from the Amtrak/Metro station and all the sites of Old Town. I was hear for work and it provided a perfect base of operations: clean, quiet, comfortable. The rooms are small, but have everything you need, including a comfy king sized bed with soft bedding, and a great shower. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in Old Town. (And I like that they have books on the bedside table, including one of my childhood favorites!)
The archer hotel was very nice to stay at . It was close to everything that we wanted to see in the town . Staff was very welcoming and the room was very nice and warm feeling .
