Bof. Trop cher pour ce que c'est.
Pros:

Buffet petit déjeuner correct. Belle vue de la chambre. La possibilité de changer les serviettes de plage.

Cons:

Chambre bruyante (groupe clim qui fait un bruit monstrueux, on se croit sur un bateau). Dîner à prendre à l'extérieur (buffet du soir très cher). Offre du bar très restreint. Piscine vieillissante.

You can’t put a price on the service at Fort Royal. Outstanding!
Pros:

This Caribbean adventure started out as a dream ten years ago as my son and I started watching Death in Paradise, and become massive fans over the years. Fast forward to 2026 and to celebrate finishing his GCSE’s I booked up Fort Royal which is an iconic hotel featured in many episodes. We were incredibly lucky to be in Deshaies when they were filming which was so far beyond our hopes and we will be dining out on how lucky we were for many years!
Here is where Fort Royal really stands out for me. I was rather unwell after a long flight and had to visit the doctor for bloods and scans. Being there on my own with my teenage son, in a country that speaks very little English was scary until the staff at Fort Royal heard I was unwell and couldn’t have done more to be helpful and reassuring. They looked out for my son and booked me a taxi with a local (Lionel) who took me to the doctor, waited for over an hour on 2 occasions and then drove me back. This was all arranged through the hotel and without their help I just don’t know what may have happened. All the staff from reception, management and restaurant were so kind and did everything they could to help ensure we felt less worried. Thankfully I recovered and had the experience of a lifetime with my son. Guadeloupe is an unspoilt paradise and I will be saving up for another ten years to return to Fort Royal!

Pros:

La Literie etait très confortable, le petit déjeuner buffet très correct.

Cons:

La distance entre les bungalows et le parking sans la golfette c’est assez compliqué.
En ce qui concerne le service de la réception, ma carte clé HS j’ai appelé la réception 45 min d’attente au téléphone en plein soleil avant qu’on m’assiste. Le lendemain demande de fer à repasser, j’ai dû attendre 30mn puis je rappelle Réponse de la réceptionniste : je cite «  je relance madame et c’est TOUT ». Manque total de réactivité et le professionnalisme merci.

La literie est très confortable, la chambre était très propre.
Le bar sur la plage était très sympa

Cons:

Le buffet dîner et PDJ n’est vraiment plus à la hauteur…. Il n’y a pratiquement RIEN!!
Au dîner : pizzas, pâtes sauce tomate, poisson ou « filet » de bœuf vraiment très dur! Voilà c’est tout
Et 3 petits desserts surgelés pas très bon
Au PDJ : œufs brouillés, omelette, bacon et jambon fromage…..

L'hôtel, la plage, le bungalow tout etait paisible et c'est ce qu'on recherchait.
Très bon petit déjeuner.

Cons:

Interdiction de se garer à l'intérieur sérieux, ça c'est n'importe quoi du coup il faut traverser tout l'hôtel pour récupérer son véhicule. C'est vraiment le plus gros problème vu le standing et le prix, on ne s'y attendrait pas du tout.

Les toilettes de l'accueil ne sont accessible qu'avec la carte remis a la réception, ça aurait été bien que la carte de chambre client puisse y donner accès également.

Im gesamten waren wir sehr Zufrieden, es gibt
Pros:

Das Frühstück war sehr ausgezeichnet und jeden Morgen begrüsste uns mit einem Lächeln ein Mitarbeiter. Der Strand ist schön, er ist nur für die Hotelgäste und man findet zur jeder Tageszeit Liegen und einen Sonnenschirm oder eine Palme. Der Strand selber hat mir eher den Eindruck gemacht, als sei dieser auf einer Felslandschaft aufgeschüttet worden. Wenn man darüber läuft kann man harten Untergrund spüren. Das ist aber weiter nicht schlimm. Unser Bungalow war super, entsprachen den Bildern wie auf der Homepage.

Cons:

Wir waren zwar in der Nebensaison, aber oft gab es einiges nicht auf der Karte, obwohl dies normale Gerichte waren. Auch ist uns aufgefallen, dass das Personal leider am Abend wenig motiviert war: oft wurde ein Teil der Getränke vergessen oder ein falsches gebracht. Hat man darauf hingewiesen reagierte das Personal oft beleidigt. Hat man einen Cocktail bestellt, den es am Vortag gab, wusste eine andere Bedienung nix davon und bemühte sich auch nicht, ihr Wissen zu erweitern. Wir konnten zum Glück auch sehr freundliches Personal erleben: An der Strandbar oder im Frühstücksraum.
Es geht also auch besser.
