Booked 2 queen room. Upon check in they told me one queen room was available because I booked through “third party”.
They did not offer me the reserved room type I booked.
Nice place and decent location. Staff were kind upon welcoming us with warm cookies!
The restaurant was closed for renovations. We spend a lot of time in the hotel restaurants, so that was a disappointment.
The room had mold in it, there was staining on the sheets, there was a hair in the bath towel that was supposed to be fresh, and just other things to show the room wasn’t fully turned down thoroughly. For the price we paid, $220 for one night, I don’t think it was worth it. To have mold in the shower made me feel unclean. While I gotta say the check in experience was fine, the workers just seemed overworked. The front desk lady who helped us was throwing her hands up in frustration at her coworker but was nice to us. She needs a break. All in all, the quality of the rooms was not worth the price point. We would’ve created more of a fuss and asked to be moved if we were not in town for a wedding and mainly was in the room late the night of check in and just wanted to sleep, and the morning after which we were leaving.
It was clean and staff were somewhat helpful
The fact that I paid for breakfast but they had no restaurant(was being renovated) and I didn’t get a refund for that!
Great location and parking on premises. The hotel had character. It is a historical hotel that is beautiful on the inside.
Plenty of common spaces in lobby to gather with guests. Food and drinks at restaurant were very good.
No complimentary breakfast. Restaurant was not open for breakfast during our stay.
An excellent national brand has made a good home in the classic Hotel Utica. The hotel bar and restaurant were excellent and made for an easy business stay. The staff was excellent and hospitable. It was an excellent hotel with the added aura of staying in a grand historic building in a historic city that seems on the upswing. Walkable to historic church and Utica busy corner with plenty of parking, and easy access to the Thruway.
Clean, spacious room
Everything was perfect but I lost some of my personal valuable items and I tried to contact with lost and found department but they never responded or call back
Then hotel is beautiful. It's a historical hostel that has been remolded but kept some of the original antigue detail which makes it absolutely stunning. Then restaurant has delicious food, the hotel staff is helpful and very friendly and the room is was extremely inviting and comfortable.
I didn't like how I booked a queen room with 2 queen beds and upon arrival was told I have a room with 1 queen bed and too bad because it's a busy weekend.
It was quiet and the room was a great size.
I called ahead of time to request an early check it. It was not available which was okay but upon arrival at 4pm (check in time) my room was still not ready. I ended up waiting another hour for my room to be cleaned. Personally with as much as I travel, the amount I paid for my room was just not worth it. The only thing that was available cost included was a fitness room. Thankfully I reserved a spa room because there is no pool either. If you want breakfast it is extra per person.
Rooms and facility was clean.
No fault of hotel because I know the restaurant is operated by a private vendor, but for the convenience of guests this issue should be resolved. The restaurant was only partially open.
The location and the price
No free breakfast lol
Most times I book hotels that offer complimentary breakfast but we went to Knead to Eat Cafe and It was so cute and delicious that we all loved it!
It was clean, close to the venue and staff interactions were polite.
The fridge in the room didn’t work and I thought there was breakfast included but there was not. It was expensive for one night.
The hotel is beautiful and very historic. From stars to presidents all have stayed there. Our room was quite large with two queen size beds and a separate space with a desk for whatever. The whole hotel was a thing of beauty and although we didn't see any we were told that there have been sightings of the super natural.
