Amazing find in Ravenglass, great base to explore the West coast of the Lake District that nobody goes to
Very good value for both accommodation, food and drink
Amazing helpful staff
Cannot think of a single thing
Great location. Gorgeous hotel. Very clean. Had a lovely dinner and breakfast.
Room was roasting! Reception brought a fan but it was very toasty.
Nice staff
Room is spacious and the beds are good
The lobby and restaurant are nice
The room is much older than it shows on the web.
Furniture and wall were a bit worn out and there are some old dirts on the armchairs.
We stayed in the room on top floor on a very not day. One blind was damaged, the other was so hard to pull down and we spent quite some effort to get it done so we can have a shaded room.
The window in bathroom has broken handle, we couldn't open the window so the bathroom was quite damp.
Lovely location
Great rooms
Comfy beds
Manx kipper and fresh croissants made for an excellent breakfast.
Dinner was very good too.

charming and friendly staff
Beautiful period property. Very nicely decorated, very clean and well maintained. Lovely staff. Loved the bar area with the settees too. Such a lovely feel to the place.
Breakfast and evening meal was very good.
We were in room 23 an outside annex, was ok just needs some TLC in areas and abit of colour adding wasn't inviting but did the job for 1 night.
Great food. Friendly. Relaxing.
The accessible room was good, bathroom well designed and accessible. Ventilation could be better. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Every staff member we met was very professional and friendly. Location was really good. It helped the the weather was terrific. Perfectly placed for the Ravenglass - Eskdale Railway.
Nothing that I can think of.
The staff were very friendly.
Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with my stay. The smell throughout the room was incredibly pungent and overpowering. It felt like it was being used to cover something up, and it became quite nauseating after a while.
There were also several maintenance and cleanliness issues. The bath plug was broken, the windows were dirty with cobwebs around them, and the window sills were cracked and damaged. The carpet was stained, which made the room feel unclean overall.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the pillow was unbelievably thin. M
ore like the width of a TV remote than an actual pillow. To make matters worse, the decorative throw pillows on top were sagging and visibly dirty. I also don’t understand why throw pillows are still used in hotels given how unhygienic they can be. The bed was so uncomfortable that my back and neck were hurting for the next few days afterwards.
Overall, the room felt very tired, poorly maintained, and far below expectations.
A lovely hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with a good choice of options. All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our 2 day stay. The location was ideal for our planned trip on the Ravenglass Steam Railway which was only a 5-10 minute walk away. Also a good location for visiting the Western Lakes. A peaceful, quiet location that was ideal for our stay.
Dinner menu was good but adding a jacket/boiled potato option would give another choice. Overall though the food and options were good.
