Beautiful room… really spacious and everything you could need was in the room and even raincoats to borrow. Lovely idea (and needed!!)! Sofa was a bed for our daughter, which was super comfortable. Comfortable beds. Location was fairly close, but a 15 mins walk before you get anywhere, which was not too bad!
We had a rainforest lodge which was part (tiny part) sea view and part tree/bush/vegetation in front of the room on ground floor. Wasn’t really a forest view so was a little disappointed by that.
Our stay at Black Rock Resort was lovely. The room set up was great for our family of three, we loved having access to a kitchen, and the views out our windows were spectacular. The proximity to trails and the beach were great for exploring and ending the night with a soak in the hot tub was always appreciated. The pool is a "plunge" pool, so not very warm and the hot tubs varied in temperature, but we made it work. We enjoyed two meals at the Currents restaurant and everything was tasty. My son kept calling the hotel "luxury", which was very cute! We'd definitely return!
My husband, 92-year-old mother and I stayed at the Blackrock for 4 nights as part of a trip to see wildlife in BC. We were in the 2-bedroom Orca suite so we could all be together. It was fantastic! Just a short walk through the lobby and then an elevator up to the room, which was great for mom. There were huge windows and a deck with amazing views of the cove and the Pacific Ocean further out. My mother said she had never stayed in such a luxurious room, and she is a pretty experienced traveler! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was great for breakfast and one dinner. The hotel is nicely tucked away so it doesn't intrude more than necessary on the natural surroundings. We went out all three days and saw whales, black bears and sea otters, plus my husband and I did a beautiful hike in Pacific Rim National Park. We liked Ucluelet better than Tofino -- it's much less touristy and busy, more laid back. We loved the Blackrock!
Excellent view, very nice breakfast and dinner.
The room design is very thoughtful, whoever designed the room and details really put in the effort. This might be the best room I ever stayed at in terms of room features and little details.
The pool was overtaken by teenagers, so basically this feature is basically not applicable.
Water boiler in the room doesn’t have auto power off after water boils. This may became fire hazard in the future.
Room was big, clean and the patio was great! Love that it’s dog friendly and the trails are close by! Restaurant staff were nice!
Theres two small hot tubs which isn’t enough for how large the hotel is and one was broken, some hot tub and pool time was the reason we booked the resort so was disappointing when there wasn’t enough room for us to go in! Two staff members at the front desk were great, most didn’t know what was going on and every time i went down for something felt like i was disrupting their personal conversation which could be over heard from across the lobby.
Incredible location, good food (both breakfast as dinner), hot tub and small swilling pool,…
Highly recommended.
The staff is very helpful and you are close (2-3miles) to several other restaurants
