A very pleasant and comfortable stay. A great location for seeing the town and the local area.
The room (looking out over the river) was spacious and with a good bathroom. Clean and tidy and quiet.
The building has charm and character but is let down by a ‘worn out’ feel. It’s ready for a refurb - by professionals! For example, the carpet on the main staircase is a complete disaster!
The staff were uniformly polite and helpful.
Breakfast was good (although coffee served in a teapot was a surprise!).
Parking was easy (nearby carpark) but very limited on site.
Perfect location for access to town and walks. Lovely room overlooking the river.
Limited parking but not really an issue as nearby car park available and good rates from hotel
Our 5th time staying at The Bell Hotel. Great location by the Quay, friendly staff and good food. Comfortable bedrooms and we had a balcony which was a bonus!
The bedrooms are comfortable and clean but feel the on suite shower could do with an upgrade, slow running luke warm water and quite a bit of mould on the tiles and grubby skirting boards. The shower was difficult to turn off and dripped for a while after using. The hot tap on the sink was also loose.
Lovely old place in a lovely village. Clean and bright. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
A lot of stairs so would be difficult for people with mobility issues.
Good location, friendly staff, good bar/restaurant, rooms good. Interesting historical town.
Hotel parking small, although public parking very close.
Breakfast service took an age
Rooms had faults - taps not working in bathroom and broken window blinds
Centrally located and staff were great
Nothing
Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Excellent evening meal.
Room was rather small given what the cost per night is
Lovely property in great location but unfortunately it was very hot and we had an awful problem with the food on the first night we stayed so never ate there again during our 3 night stay……
Beautiful building in a lovely spot
The Bell Hotel is beautiful and in the heart of sandwich, the staff were super friendly and the breakfast was fab. The room was super spacious and was very modern
The room was incredibly hot, granted we are in the middle of a heat wave however could have done with either an extra fan or portable air conditioning... the hall ways were humid and stuffy...would have been good to open the windows a little more than 2 inches
Location room view dining
No lift little parking
Friendly staff great location easy parking
Hotel room are tired and could do with modernising especially the bathrooms which are clean but with poor showers and ventilation, the rooms were hot even with the fan supplied which made sleeping difficult, the bar shut at 2200 in Sunday even for residents which was disappointing as it cut short our time with friends!!
The breakfast was lovely. All the staff were helpful and kind. The hotel is in a great location.
The upstairs of the hotel and our room was very tired looking and our room small. It was disappointing considering the cost of the room for one night, it sadly did not meet our expectations.
Good location and service
Room was unbelievably hot and had trouble sleeping.
