Lovely location and river view
It was fairly basic
I stayed here with my husband for a long weekend.
On arrival, the reception staff gave us a room upgrade! It made our day & the room was beautiful. We loved the view over the river.
There wasn't any negatives. The hotel was wonderful. The food was delicious & the location was ideal for walks around the village.
Food and service.
Everything was great, but the corridors felt a little unloved compared to the room and dining areas.
Good breakfast.
Convenient good location
Needs updating shower and bathroom. Not up to standards
Location, value for money . Stayed at the Bell many times never disappoints .
No parking

Charming, elegant inn, great service and location.
No complaints
It was a beautiful hotel our room was lovely. just the stairs was a bit of a problem for me to get to my room.
One thing I think is the rooms could do with a mini fridge. And the stairs was different for me. And it’s a bit of a walk to park your car.
Arrived about midday and asked if they would store our luggage until check in, which the 1st receptionist was very nice about. She said our room should be ready by 2pm (which we believe was the correct check in time). We went back and was told problem with housekeeping and we should go and have a drink in the bar (not complimentary). We took her advise and purchased wine, went back 40 minutes later, still not ready, we were fed up and went out again. Got a call after 4pm to tell us room was ready. We were out with friends by that time and had to come back from our get together to book in.
We were upset by this, dumped our stuff and met up again.
We were not told what time breakfast was, the room was the same one we stayed at before when we booked through you. Do they only have a couple of rooms they put your clients in?
The reception was also busy when it came to booking out. There was a box which said ‘keys here please’ which we did.
Got a message just after 11.30 to say we must vacate the room by 11 which we did. When i notice the message some hours later i called and asked what they needed. She said the key, i told her it was in the box and she replied “oh yeah, thanks”.
Everything collected to customer care and attention, see above. Very disappointing. Hotel, breakfast and room were nice as they’ve been before but we felt unnoticed and unimportant.
1/Amazing staff.
2/ Lovely big room
3/ and comfy bed.
1/ no noise insulation from room above
2/ no secure onsite car park.
3/ no CCTV in hotel.
A lovely hotel, perfectly situated for exploring Sandwich. Great breakfast and extremely helpful and kind staff.
The bathroom and some of the communal areas look a little tired.
