Excellent hotel, wonderful staff and facilities. A real pleasure to stay there and be spoilt.. The location is perfect and offers plenty of parking and easy access to the coastal footpath.

Excellent experience!
Pros:

For anyone looking for a relaxing holiday experience near the sea in Cornwall, this hotel is a great choice. It is right next to a sandy beach where you could try watersports, and the hotel facility and services are amazing! The only thing worth noticing is that if you need to travel somewhere else, driving a car is more convenient, as the hotel is about 9 minutes drive away from St Austell. But there are bus links, and if you just want to hide away from busy schedule with beach experience, then it is perfect. Both swimming in the sea and in the hotel spa centre are good options.

Never again - ghastly
Pros:

Terrible. Poky room, no aircon, at night it was like a heatbox. One small lift to serve guests and staff, which was listed for six people. Lucky to get three thin people in it.

Never again - stay away and avoid

The stay was fairly good but falls short of many other hotels we have previously stayed at in Cornwall
Pros:

The property was a good size with lots of added extra activities to take part in.

Cons:

The room was nothing special, a bog standard room which didn’t really reflect the price charged.

Sleepless uncomfortable nights
Pros:

A really nice 4 star hotel in a lovely setting. Nice pool, splendid restaurant, although breakfast was disappointing. The staff are all very nice particularly the porters that meet you with a smile and are always willing to assist. However this hotel fails at its fundamental goal - comfortable nights rest.
We suffered, and I don't exaggerated, 3 nights in a room more akin to a sauna. With both windows fully open and the fan on full the room failed to get below 27 deg C. Even though the outside temperature was significantly lower.

Reception staff stated that they were experiencing exceptionally high temperatures. A daytime highs of 26 deg C is by no means exceptional for Cornwall.

Air conditioning should have been standard.

I honestly cannot stress enough how uncomfortable each night was and how little sleep we got.

Extremely disappointing.

We had dinner in the main restaurant last night. When we asked for the bill there were charges of almost £100 for drinks and food that were not ours. The charges were removed but it did seem this was a regular issue, if you are staying check your account thoroughly.

Bit disappointed in our room it was lovely but didn’t have a superior feel to it and the bathroom was tiny.

Fabulous summer hotel
Pros:

I chose this hotel for its location. We went for four days but as the weather was good and the outdoor pool was sublime we didn’t leave the premises. I fully recharged my batteries. Great location overlooking the sea. Loved that you could order food at drinks at poolside. Plenty of places by pool or garden to sit in sun or shade. Beds very comfy with pillow selection. Sea view was wonderful to wake up too. Breakfast very good and variety of food options. Make sure you get a staff member to take you to the beach in a golf buggy, great fun and a real wow moment as you hit top of golf course and see the magnificent coast line.
One gripe triple cooked chips weren’t!
We have found the Brend Collection of hotels to be good classed, good quality and good value and will definitely be back
The pools really make this hotel special and the grounds were beautifully maintained with English flowers and an odd exotic plant. There was some entertainment that was varied and considered. Good bar areas to sit comfortably.
