The staff was really nice. The rooms were clean and all the amenities were there. Very comfortable stay. 10/10 for the rooms and staff. Overall very happy with the hotel and recommend this to anyone looking for budget friendly comfortable stay in Pratunam area
Breakfast was not so great. Would be nice if more options are added like bakery items. Taste of the food was average.
Breakfast was ready at 6::00 Am in the morning
Security guard was Harsh
Very worst hospitality... Morning Breakfast they close by 10..even if you are eating they will switch off the lightings and force you to get out... Breakfast terrible... Male attenders at the reception very rude...our travel agents book this hotel... We communicated this issues to him for which he appologised
The hotel is well located, but windows need to be kept down for privacy. I was a bit hesitant to book this hotel seeing the mixed reviews, but my actual visit made it clear that all the fears were unfounded. The rooms are good, and well furnished, with AC and all the usual amenities (including bathroom slippers). While there are no electric kettles in the rooms, there is a common hot water facility on each floor and flasks in each room. There are a lot of TV channels including many Indian channels. The WiFi is free and fast. The hotel is well located, with good shopping spots within 1 km max, and is surrounded by Indian restaurants. Check-in and Check-out were very smooth, but a B 2,000 refundable deposit is required.
Hello There,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing this email with great disappointment. My friends and I stayed at your hotel on the 20th and 21st of October 2024. Our room numbers were 513, 515, 517, and 544. When we check in, I tried to ask the receptionist to ensure that the rooms were allocated on the same floor if possible. For no reason, the receptionist was mad at me. I requested her to calm down and said that I just wanted to know if the rooms were allocated on the same floor. However, the response from the receptionist and her colleagues was not acceptable. She started shouting at me and my friends. It almost seemed like she stereotyped all the Indian travelers and assumed that she could abuse us. She treated us like third-class people. This triggered me and all my friends. We had to retaliate and raise our voices against your staff. We didn't want such an instance to occur. We were there to have a fun and peaceful holiday. We are spending our money and booking the rooms. I assume we were allowed to request you to allocate the rooms on the same floor. I also understand that you might accommodate our request given the rooms are available on the same floor. The hotel staff could have just said "Please wait" or just "Yes". There was no reason for her to shout at us. I somehow feel like they are similarly treating all the Indians. I am not sure if they are properly trained to handle customers. A front desk executive/receptionist must be educated to talk to customers with empathy. Just because we are from other countries, doesn't give them the entitlement to abuse us. I hope you take adequate action to ensure this doesn't happen in future.
Regards,

This is by far, bar none, the worst hotel experience I have endured. For context I am a Sri Lankan, also a tropical Island famed for it's hospitality. This hotel was booked by a travel agent; my first mistake, due to a really hectic schedule, we decided to allow a travel agent to make the bookings, this hotel was offered to me as a "3 Star Hotel" option, which in my home country, means a really good hotel with lovely service. My second mistake was not looking at the google reviews, I did visit their website and found them on booking.com but somehow the bad reviews just didnt register properly as I was working right up until we left. The website showed a quaint, old style hotel which we thought looked lovely as we wanted an authentic bangkok experience. The reality was so far from this that it soured our entire trip.
The pictures are entirely misleading, this is not so much a hotel as it is a HOLE. Down an awful area that can only be described as a little India but in the worst way. We were shocked to find that while we hoped for a bangkok experience, we had landed in a dirty back alley teeming with budget travel indians who were noisy, dirty, rude and were surrounded by indian food places. The hotel has no view or anything close to "ambience" its views are filthy back lanes with horrible garbage dumps and dirty laundry. We could not open our window as it opened onto a dirty street and dirtier apartments. The area the hotel is in, is locke din by a gate that charges anyone 40Baht simply to drop you off at your hotel doorstep, it's riduculous.
Service is non existent. I read that Bangkok is known as the land of smiles...we did not see ONE. The hotel staff, especially the "manager" were unbelievably rude, disinterested and absolutely uncaring of their guests. The hotel has signs everywhere telling you how many things you'll be charged for if they deem it "excessively dirty" you can be charged for towels, bathmats, umbrellas the whole thing. We were changed out 4 bottles of water for 5 days. If you do happen to run out of water in a day they will tell you to go buy your own water. they do not help you with your bags, when leaving they told us to carry our own stuff out. No one smiles, no one greets you or is even remotely pleasant to you.
The food was atrocious! We were booked for Bed & Breakfast, after our first day we never ate there again. It was just disgusting and the eating area was filthy. There is not kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room as is normal or even a spoon should you want to make your own. There is a flask and you have to traipse to the elevator and fill it up with hot water and bring it back to the room. Luckily we had brought our sri lankan tea bags with us and had to buy sugar.
There is no iron, theres a communal iron that you have to put 10 Baht into to use. Our bathroom toilet was leaking and the bed was hard and uncomfortable with old pen ink stains on the sheets. We basically stayed out all day and returned to the hotel only to sleep because it was so depressing and morbid, expecially when you keep returning to such sour faces who look at you like you are a nuisance.
We were shocked and surprised to be charged a 2000 Baht deposit which was to be held as a security in case we "excessively dirtied" the room, I later saw many reviews showing that the hotel often claims some nonsense and deducts the deposit. It's like they are offended at having to housekeep their own hotel or provide good food or smile at paying guests. We originally believed we could get some good tips and helpful directions during our stay, we quickly realised the staff couldnt care less and were not interested in speaking.
I cannot stress enough what an awful dump this place was and hope this review diverts other unfortunate tourists who maybe considering this place. The caliber of people staying here were the very cheap/crass/smelly/dirty kind which perhaps is why the hotel has evolved to be this way, but it certainly does not help the experience.
The staff and surrounding area gave the worst of Bangkok and is definitely not the experience you want to have if you are looking forward to hospitality, smiles and great memories. We were so annoyed by the time we left.
Dont ever go here.
Very bad experience with this hotel request to all tourist please don't go in this hotel very rude behaviour staff so don't go no help full staff and not best for Indian tourist I night male so much rude and he didn't talk with English very disappointed
Peaceful, polite staff
Your reception staff attitude very poor and costumer service very bad and rude
One of my friend forget to take tissot watch cost 60000 .just after checkout we contact the property but they denied.and very bad behave to Indians .there is kettle inside the room they only giving flask. We Need to take hot water from outside of the room.ac very horrible thermostat not working Lobby Staf very bad
Indian is their main market.
I stayed at The Ecotel during my visit to Bangkok, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The food, the staff, and the rooms were all excellent. The quality of the food, in particular, stood out to me. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.
The hospitality factor should actually be given importance to and the breakfast food quality certainly needs to be improved
