Please be aware that some restaurants including Highland Fish Bar at Macdonald Aviemore Resort will be seasonal, but at least one of the restaurants will be open during low season.
The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the hotel. Please note that failure to do so will result in an alternative payment method being required.
For guests staying on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package you can enjoy a £25 spend towards food in one of our restaurants.
Children aged 12 and under can stay and take breakfast for free when sharing a suitable room with two adults. Child dinner will be charged separately dependent on menu chosen.
Please be aware that Thunder in the Glens event will be taking place on resort from the 22nd - 24th August 2025 inclusive. This event will cause elevated noise levels due to being a motorcycle event, and there will also be live music being played around the resort until late evening.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

The location
The hotel is dated and needs completely refurbished.
We had to go to a different building to have our breakfast.
The cooked breakfast was not fresh and should have been much hotter, i.e. it was look warm.
Location is great for Aviemore. Beds are comfy and easy to park. Most staff are very friendly too.
I had been coming here for a long time and standards have dropped. A few years ago I remember getting decent coffee, shortbread in rooms and water. Now it’s Nescafé and that about it. It’s getting dated and they seem to be cutting costs. Breakfast used to be much better with haggis and black pudding etc. Now the choice is limited. You can only get standard coffee.
Worst aspect was as I used to love this hotel in previous years, I got the email asking if I wanted half price upgrade if lucky at check in. I chose this option and it said would find out on arrival and have to pay if successful. So I went onto website to see what this offering gave. A bigger room but also a Nespresso machine, robes etc. apparently. No one told me I had been upgraded on arrival and no extra money listed on the sheet I signed so I assumed a classic room. I noticed the room was large but there were no robes, standard kettle only provided, and Nescafé sachets etc in room so just assumed it was a large standard room. Only on leaving did they tell me I owed them for the upgrade to a suite and had to pay. Basically had to pay for a larger room with gives non of the offerings listed on the website for this room. I would not have taken the chance to get an upgrade if known this.
If I am honest, the standards in this complex have dropped year on year and got to the point where I am now preferring the Premier Inn down the road as even the breakfast better there, and a choice of coffee types. And their beds are always comfy which is probably the only thing I found good at this hotel.
