Impeccable hotel in a tropical setting just minutes away from the busy city. We loved the service, the pools and also the great breakfast. It’s a top hotel!
A touch of paradise, we simply didn't want to leave. The entire experience was sublime, from the staff who delivered exceptional service at every opportunity to the delicious food at Fiamma and cocktails at Bob's Bar, from the tropical pool loungers (so comfortable!) and pools to our exquisitely appointed room, everything was perfect.
Very enjoyable stay and staff are excellent.
Having read countless 5-star reviews about Capella, I was excited to finally experience what many call an “unofficial 6-star” hotel for a special occasion that is worth a splurge. Unfortunately, my stay did not quite live up to the hype.
For a room priced at nearly SGD 2,000 per night, I expected a much more exceptional experience.
The villa itself was undeniably spacious, but it lacked any meaningful view, which made it feel somewhat underwhelming. For a property of this calibre, I was also surprised by the bathroom facilities — the WC was a conventional type with a cold seat and no bidet spray, which felt like a basic omission at this price point, especially when smart toilets are commonly seen in most hotels these days.
The private pool was another letdown. It wasn’t large enough for a proper swim, yet not designed like a jacuzzi either — essentially just a dipping pool. We had initially planned to use it, but the presence of insects and leaves in the water made it unappealing.
Breakfast was decent, with a reasonable menu selection, but the buffet spread itself lacked variety and didn’t stand out compared to other luxury hotels.
I also tried the Auriga Spa. While the massage was satisfactory, it didn’t justify the high price. The spa facilities were particularly disappointing — no sauna, and only limited amenities such as a steam room, hot pool, and mist rooms. Many hotels in Singapore at a much lower price point offer far more comprehensive spa experiences.
On a positive note, I really appreciated the direct access to Palawan Beach, the pet-friendliness and both the Italian and Chinese restaurants were excellent.
Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects, I found it difficult to justify the nightly rate. I had hoped for a more memorable and luxurious experience, but unfortunately, this visit fell short of expectations.
Outstanding Venue
The Villa was amazing.
The service was 2nd to none.
Everything just seemed to be easy for them to accommodate you.
A truly impeccable place by all means. Apart from the superb premises, it feels like Singapore Airlines crew is running a hotel. Outstanding.
Hotel magnifique : très grande chambre avec vue ; jardins ; pisicines en terrasse ; restaurants ; jardins ; accès à la plage.
Petit déjeuner extraordinaire.
Service parfait.
Rien.
Wonderful experience staying at Capella Sentosa, an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle of Singapore just mere minutes away.
Walking out onto your balcony with a picture perfect view of the beach and being surrounded by nature and birds was a wonderful welcome not easily found in Singapore.
Special mention to Chef Antonios warm welcome and Alvins Wong fond farewell made it a truly special stay.
The resort's location is excellent: close to the Universal Studios Theme Park, the Oceanarium, and the Waterpark.
The restaurants in the resort are all amazing. The staff is very attentive and nice.
Literally nothing to complain about.
I have a very good experience in this two days,First day when I arrive lobby a lot of guest waiting for check in,I think I will waiting for a long time in that moment, but the front desk stuff very fast tell us every information and send us welcome drink, the drink was perfect,After waiting for room I go to cassia enjoy lunch,The Host Sara treat us very nice and always have smile in her face,I remember one dishe a bun fly to my food, and a tall Gentleman with suite very quickly help us change a new one! Dinner time in fiamma Mami and Ross send the birthday cake to me whatever I didn’t mention my birthday that was very kind and I feel so surprise! I will take my girlfriend and family to visit this beautiful hotel in the future!
Our second consecutive year booking a stay and it has exceeded all expectations. Traveling with my octogenarian mother, I had reached out in advance to Loges of the bell team to reserve a wheelchair for my mother to use on property over the duration of our stay like we did last year, and Loges provided the reassurance we would enjoy a seamless arrival at Capella
I had also reached out to the night manager regarding the set up of our favorite standard room, the same one we stayed last year, with which my mother would be familiar, and Khairul Daneal Muhammad Ng was most affable, gracious, and responsive in his follow-up. Last year, I also had an equally positive experience with the night manager at that time, Ning, who has since moved up to a position in Sales
Upon arrival at the Capella, we were welcomed by smiling, familiar faces, Ethan and Fandi of the Bell Concierge team and were ushered in where we were served refreshing welcome drinks by Alex and Raven (intern from Taiwan) who immediately went on to process our check-in. I had a chance to say hi and catch up with Assistant Front Office Manager Kaung Set whom I have known from his previous tenure at the St Regis five years ago. Set very graciously extended to us every possible courtesy including delivering some afternoon tea bites to our our room since my mother could not easily access the fourth floor. To his credit, Alex managed to get our regular room ready and Set assisted my mother and I as he accompanied us to the room
We received outstanding service from Housekeeping room attendant Lee (who hails from northern Vietnam) who came to set up the top sheet for our bedding per our request. Lee was most courteous, professional, and speaks excellent English, having worked in Singapore for the past 6 years. I also had a chance to revisit the Auriga Spa, and spa manager Kimberly and her assistant, Ernita, were most hospitable and kind
We love the peacocks on the grounds. The sound of their crowing at dawn and the sight of their majestic plumes make a stay at Capella SG very special indeed!
Every time we return to a particular hotel, we always look forward to seeing familiar faces and this wish was wholeheartedly fulfilled when we went down to breakfast the next morning - a dark and rainy one - to Fiamma at 07:00 am. Restaurant manager Jason and his international team - Ying En,, Nelvin, Manish, Red, Melvin, Amy from Taiwan, Khine from Myanmar, Liu from China,, et al - welcomed us with such gusto,, truly the best breakfast welcome in Singapore! The team couldn't be more helpful and service-minded - we particularly remember Manish from last year and he still pulls double duty at Fiamma breakfast and at the pool. This time,, he brought us a specially curated bowl of cut up red pittaya dragon fruit which was most delectable
We also had the pleasure of meeting the Junior Sous Chef in charge of breakfast,, Chef Kelvin Lim whose breakfast creations were even more impressive than the ones we enjoyed last year. It was an absolute delight to see Okra (ladyfinger/bindi), my absolute favorite vegetable, featured on the chef's counter. The menu selections included The Chairman's Indulgence which featured Onsen Egg surrounded by king crab, uni, and caviar making it a Happy Onsen Egg (unlike other places that serve a sad onsen egg looking like punch the lonely monkey). We also tried the Braised Abalone Noodle Soup and the broth was just spectacular! So beautifully seasoned and umami, perfect for this rainy morning. Chef Kelvin Lim also presented us with a bowl of specially cut up Thai mango and berries which we greatly appreciated. Thank you, Chef Kelvin and we hope to be back to enjoy more of you and your team's culinary treats!
During the Lunar New Year period lasting for two weeks until the first full moon of the horse year next week, the breakfast buffet also features a specially curated Chinese buffet with 8 treasure congee, dried scallop congee, Nor Mai Gai (chicken glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf), Tea Braised Hard Boiled Egg, amongst others. Such are the splendid delights one can enjoy at Capella Singapore during the lunar new year period. We love the Fiamma team so much,, we hope to make a return booking at Capella Singapore for another special occasion soon
Also, many thanks to the Banquet service team waitstaff DaDa, Celeste, Laraine, Zain, et al who provided us with great service at our function last evening
The total score that I can say is 9.8/10
All the staffs including front desk, Flamma, Cassia, The Pineapple Room, Bob’s Bar, The Living Room, Auriga Spa, Capella Culturist and also the housekeeper were nice, concerned my needs proactively, cleanliness of the guest room, surrounded green of outside areas.
The deduction of the 0.2 was the check out experience (a bit mess, maybe due to the high season of CNY), the Tides painting workshop can do a bit better.
Overall is good and I will come back to Capella Singapore.
It's Zarina, Holly and Fiamma and Housekeeping team's help that let my daughter had a really great time for her 6 year old birthday. Really recommend the hotel Capella Singapore!I also love the pool in the room, the breakfast. Thank you!
We woke up each day to birdsong and gentle insect chirps at this wonderfully quiet hotel, surrounded by flowers and greenery. The room was spotlessly clean, and we were especially impressed by Adoncia Kong, an incredibly friendly and helpful receptionist who made our whole stay so comfortable and restful.
The shuttle bus service from Vivocity was convenient. The reception building has a very colonial vibe. The rooms are modern and with more than ample towels. We noticed that the used towels are changed twice daily. The hotel is a wonderful place to relax. The whole area is quiet and non intrusive. Service, from the moment you step onto the hotel, is top notch. Each staff we encountered were genuine and friendly and polite. The best we've ever had. It shows the importance of training of the staff. Great value for money staying at the Capella Singapore considering the amenities provided and the extremely high level of service. The day we returned home, I recommended a few cousins to consider a staycation there. Food at Cassia, the Chinese restaurant, is top notch! We were very happy that we had dinner there instead of going to the Resort World Sentosa. I highly recommend this hotel
A truly special hotel where the hotel is stunning and the level of service is of the highest standard. 100% recommend for a relaxing trip.
I had a wonderful stay at Capella Singapore with my mother.
We checked in on Valentine’s Day and were greeted with beautiful flowers, which was such a lovely surprise. The next day, we also received a thoughtful small gift from the hotel.
A special thank you to Alvin Wong for her excellent and attentive service throughout our stay. She was very kind and made our trip really memorable.
The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and the service is outstanding. Highly recommended!
Having been to Capella Sydney and Capella Taipei, I did have exceedingly high expectations over Capella Singapore before my arrival. Typing this review and choosing which photos / videos to be posted, I looked back fondly on my 4-day retreat at Capella Singapore, the hidden paradise in Singapore. I would conclude that it has once again reached (and actually surpassed) my expectations in terms of its room, quality of service, facilities and environment.
I must first express my sincerest gratitude to Johanna Dlugosch, the Hotel Manager, and Kaung Set, the Assistant Manager, for their arrangements for my room upgrade to the One-Bedroom Villa. Your warmest welcome at my arrival means a lot to me since Capella always makes me feel at home.
Visiting on my own, I was once worried that I could not take beautiful shots of myself in such a beautifully designed building. Yet, helpful staff around completely addressed my concern. They were helpful and patient with taking photos which are all in my photo album, and most importantly, in my mind.
Special thanks must go to Janice and Marie from Bob’s Bar; Liu & Red from Fiamma; Esther from Cassia; and Shida & Cherish from Auriga Spa for their dedication and assistance which elevated my overall experience at Capella Singapore.
There are a lot to share, so I have written separate reviews (including photos and videos) for Fiamma, Cassia and Auriga Spa. More about the hotel facilities were uploaded in the “Updates” section.
How much I wish I could stay longer when time at Capella Singapore mysteriously flew by much faster. It is hard to say goodbye. Yet, I will be back with my friends and family very soon!
A visit to Singapore is incomplete without a visit to Capella Singapore. Bravo, the whole team of Capella Singapore! Keep it up!
Had an exceptional dining experience this lovely breezy morning at Fiamma, Capella Singapore. The morning team was warm, cheerful, and impressively attentive. Special thanks to Canny, Red, Melvin, Sam, Christina, Manish, Fast, and Chef Stephen for making our breakfast truly memorable. A marvellous team indeed! 👏
This was a totally wonderful experience!
The service from all staff was incredible as was the food! Breakfast was so delicious as was the food in the other two restaurants at the hotel!
The bedrooms are divine!
But really it’s the service that stands out, especially Jason at breakfast, he couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful! Couldn’t find any fault for our whole stay! Can’t wait to return!
