We had a reservation at this dismal location, but we canceled it on seeing the place, lost the charges, and booked another hotel because we were afraid to stay in this hotel. Windows are broken and taped up. People are living (not staying but residing) in the units with cats. Parking lot is full of potholes. There is no sign on Elizabeth St; you have to drive around behind the Clarion to find it. I am appalled that Choice Hotels allows this property to remain in their brand.
Pool and hot tub were closed due to a virus. Room was decent but dated.
Nice
We did not actually stay at this property because when we arrived, around 6pm, the lobby door was locked and no one was in the office.
We sat in our vehicle for some time trying to figure out what to do and my husband got out and took pictures of the front office area to show no activity. There were several people hanging around the parking lot, gathered by cars and loud music playing. We did not feel safe and decided to leave and find other accommodations for the night.
We reached out to Expedia to let them know about the property and were told they would get back to us after they spoke with property management. No one from Expedia ever contacted us.
This property is apparently being taken over by Clarion Inn, the hotel directly in front of it, and it set to be gutted and remodeled (claims the General Manager) in the very near future. Until then, they seem perfectly ok allowing people to continue to reserve and STAY in this pit. Broken taped up windows, some windows completely boarded up, curtains with deteriorating linings, some rooms with no blackout curtains at all, no cover on the lightbulbs in bathroom above the tub, baseboard carpeting falling off the wall, stained sheets and towels.... We actually slept with weapons in the room. I've traveled a lot and this is by far the most disgusting place ever. Sadly, we decided to go to the Pueblo Chili Festival last minute and tried to stay on the cheap but this place really shouldn't even be open until renovations are complete.
The young woman working the front desk when we checked out took the brunt of everyone's complaints while the General Manager sat in his office. She was kind, listened and probably questioned why she came to work daily knowing she has to deal with people in total shock regarding the conditions of this place. Clarion Inn should be ashamed and embarrassed.
The worker was extremely anti social and rude when I checked in. She is a manager there. Despite that she took forever to check me in and did not provide proper customer service. All I know is you get what you pay for.
Trip adviser wants all your personal info just to post a review. Didn't get the ground floor as requested. It took until 9 pm to get linens after the room was supposed to be ready. In the middle of the night, the thin metal plate fell off the wall above the door. The outlets had bare wires as seen in pictures of other reviews if they worked at all. I didn't stay the second night and it still took 2 months to credit my card. If I listed all the things wrong, I'd be here all day. I recommend another motel, any other motel. At least the homeless that hang around begging have a better place under a bridge.
I had Great stay the staff is very helpful the hotel is in good condition the parking is nice because is close to your room The Front desk work Marianna Is Very Helpful Respectful and considerate I do Plan on Returning Next time I Visit Pueblo Def Perfer this over any other place I like it because there is a bar at the hotel
The good: The staff at the Clarion who handled our booking and our subsequent cancellation were polite and friendly. When we explained the list of reasons why we were demanding to cancel after being in the room less than an hour, and requesting a complete refund, we were given a refund and a sincere apology for the experience.
The bad:
1) Confusion on site, as the office for the Vista Inn is permanently closed, and arrangements are managed at the Clarion Inn which is in front of the Vista Inn, coming from the access road. The sign on the doors at the Vista Inn did not state this, and thus the confusion.
2) Nonsmoking room reeked of cigarette smoke.
3) Dirty Linens: one white pillowcase had brown stains across it, and all towels and bed linens had unpleasant odor.
4) Inconsistent staff: while the gentlemen at the front desk were friendly and polite, we requested a change for the soiled pillow/pillowcase, and after 45 minutes without any response from housekeeping, we stepped out of our room and saw the housekeeper taking a smoke/vape break next to the linen cart several doors down.
5) Nonfunctional wifi: we were given a password that was not accepted for sign-on at any of the networks reachable from our room... and it should be noted that we tried every network because we were not told which one we were supposed to be able to access.
6) The price charged at the Clarion registration desk was higher than the amount on my confirmation, and in-general was way too high for the poor quality of the room.
My stay here has been great. The staff are amazing. I like going to breakfast every morning because Joanne and Jerry know how to start the morning off right great people. Spacious rooms at a reasonable price. Glad my stay here has been enjoyable because I had horrible experience next door at motel 6. The manager actually took time even though he was busy to show me my room before I rented it. Great people.
Luci at Vision Bar located in Vista Inn is an excellent server! Stop by sometimes, you won't be disappointed! Hotel staff is very accommodating. Food is also good quality and great. I have not been disappointed since coming in.
I wanted so badly to be able to leave a good review- especially after I contacted the motel a few days before our arrival and the person I spoke to was so friendly both times. However that all had to chance once we got into our room. We knew from reading reviews that we had to pick up our key from the hotel in front of this one because we arrived around midnight. That part was easy. When we got to our room there was a huge feather, piece of trash and dog food still on the floor, the room was an adjoining room and the adjoining door did not lock- so we pushed a chair in front of it- said chair had seen better days it was super frayed. The TV had no power button (and no remote) but it wouldn't have mattered anyways because the plug ins for the TV had been pulled out of the wall. The wiring for the AC unit was exposed and there was dog hair all over one of the bed's sheets, the carpet had blood stains on it- the towel rack had been yanked from the wall, and in the bathroom the light fixture cover was on the back of the toilet along with the toilet paper. All the towels had holes in them, and out of five lights in the room only two had lightbulbs in them. When I called I told the woman that I would be leaving a review and some had seemed horrible but they had started to get better so I said please give me your best room and she said she would- if this is their best- I am just amazed that a place like this is allowed to operate. I wanted a cheap room because we were arriving so late and then leaving before six so I literally needed the place for 6 hours. NEVER again will I go with something this cheap. We were kind of bamboozled into it as a different site said it was a 2.5 star place... Also I had to sign something that if we smoked we would get charged $250 well we don't smoke but three times during the night smoke seeped in through our AC unit (which did work, one good feature) so I hope I don't get charged for that. Outside the room there was puke in the hall, blood, two uncovered trash cans, and dog food. For the love of all things good stay somewhere for $20 more a night you will NOT regret it!
When we arrived no one was there and we could not check in. We finally reached someone in order to check in and the staff was rude. The room had an unbearable smell and appeared to dirty. Several of the rooms appeared to have fire damage. We did not stay and talked to the manger who told us he would refund our money, however, when Expedia contacted him he told them he would not refund our money. Terrible experience. I will never return.
