It was very good job every way
No complaints
Nice old-fashioned hotel with decent decor and restaurant.
As a single traveller, I booked a standard double room to get a bit of space. Instead, I got a small double, The reception staff said it was a standard double but that it was one of the smaller ones - and nothing else was available. I believe I was discriminated against because I was a single traveller and possibly because I booked through the Internet. The hotel is fine but not the way I was treated. I would advise single travellers who want a bigger room to book a twin room because too beds can't be crammed into a small space!
Breakfast was very good very fresh. And good selection
Nothing really it tick all the boxes
Elevator. Sea view. Friendly staff. Clean. Nicely furnished. Interested to discover Wilfred Owen stayed there and wrote some of his poems there.
When my booking is confirmed on booking.com and payment taken I don't expect to have additional demands from messages from the hotel group saying I need to urgently book in online and then saying time is running out worrying me. ALSO, I would have rated this hotel higher had it not been for my sleep being ruined by a banging Ill-fitting window frame which I only identified the cause at 3am and wedged the gap but it had a bad effect on me and could not properly enjoy the next day from tiredness.
Location was good, we did not staÿ for breakfast this time. Friendly staff particularly on the front desk
Very friendly staff, clean comfortable room, good location with lovely views.
The option to have a light breakfast in the lounge rather than a full breakfast in the restaurant. Plenty of on street permit parking.
Nothing to dislike
Excellent view, good size room and a mini fridge
Shower pressure could have been better
Very clean room with what looked like a new bathroom update.
The hotel is tired and could use a little TLC. The lift was an experience in itself but had a very herbal (weed) smell to it. Room needs updating. Parking on the website states free when it's actually £8 per night book in advance. You can park on the seafront for a maximum of 3hrs for free.
Lovely, cosy bar
Nothing
Great location
Small room
The room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. On-site parking reserved for us.
The bar meals were a disappointment although not part of our package. Frozen battered fish, frozen chips etc etc. This was the only downside to our stay.
Great location, room was spacious and contained a fridge as well as drink making facilities
Lift was a bit creaky
Good location.
Receptionist was friendly and helpful on arrival. Room was clean and a good size. Small fridge in room, fan, heater, ironing board and iron, tea, coffee etc. yes you have to pay for parking but you do almost everywhere now. Quiet location overlooking the sea and 10 minutes walk to the town centre
The only thing I could moan about was the reception on the tv wasn't great but for the hour you watch it before bed, it wasn't a big deal
