Ashbourne Court Hotel

This was not a great pick
The bed was awful, very old and squeaky, the radiators were roasting and the dial did not work to adjust it, we asked at reception and were told someone would fix it, we were there 2 days and no one showed up so we slept all night with both windows open and we’re still far to hot, we were also at the front of the hotel so didn’t get much sleep with the noise of the traffic. The room was the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in, you could smell smoke on the hallways so obviously other guests had been smoking. There was a cigarette butt in our bedroom window caught between the window seam. I killed 4 small black bugs in the bathroom.
The staff were friendly enough and the cleaning staff were all good and friendly, the young boys who worked in the bar in the evenings were friendly and chatty. We had breakfast on Easter monday but no breakfast on Easter Tuesday as not enough people staying in the hotel, I thought maybe a continental breakfast would of even been supplied but nothing
Basic and ok if your not to fussy where you sleep

This hotel could very easily get an extra star if a little work was done to it.

Small and old without any amenities, phone was broken, heating was off we had to call the desk, just old and run down. The restaurant below was amazing and the food and people were top notch. Just a place to sleep and way overpriced for what you get.

Terrible everything

I would have given it all excellents, but the candy machine in the lobby didn't give me my .90Euro change back.

Room was great .bed needs new mattress other than that it was great staff were great from the chap on the door to the lady that gave us breakfast noting was to much for her and the staff in the bar so nice 👍

Pleasant.

This would be a nice mid range hotel. Not much parking available. Rooms clean and large. Reception small. Staff fantastic especially Sharon that setved breakfast.

Exactly what I required, good value

Nice big room but far far too hot, no temperature controls. Furniture battered & a coffee table missing a leg!
2 out of 4 lamps didnt work, overhead light didnt work.
The hairdryer was completely useless.
Staff were very pleaseant , bar food looked fine but we chose wlsewhere to eat. The room was very clean though.
The tv was too old to support any usb/ firestick
Tea coffee & biscuits available, no water

Near to pubs and restaurants

Found the backend of the trip a little disappointing. Staff not trained on morning check out. I wanted to pay on a different card, yet I'd already been charged! Felt like a fight getting a refund to then charge to my zero fee card. Menu limited in covid times expected, but maybe one or two daily specials could be introduced.

The bite is fantastically positioned for convenience to walk around town or for major travel routes .

The food was amazing as was the Guinness

The staff are fantastic and even rang me to tell me I’d left things behinds me.

The staff were lovely and very helpful . Our room was very dated and just made the room look unkept. The breakfast was served in bar which i did not like.

Lovely hotel

The room was far toooooooo warm.,but very thing else was ok.

The hotel was lovely. But the room was cold had to ask for the heating to be sorted it was sorted in fairness. The tv was not on the wall properly and the remote was broken the double beds are small and not very comfortable. No fridge no safe and no fresh water for the kettle if you want tea or coffee you would have to use the water out of the sink in the bathroom. The staff were all lovely good music and plenty of room to move around.
