We loved our stay at Hotel Barcelo Tenerife. The staff were friendly, attentive and very professional. The hotel is beautiful. The entertainment staff were top class. Maria, Jessica, Samuel, Ivan, Alice and colleagues, you were the making of our trip! The kids had so much fun and your positive energy brought a smile to everyone. Thank you.
2nd stay and we will be back it has become our winter break to the sun. staff amazing, rooms spotless and resort itself is kept so clean. We went all inclusive again and the food was really good. We did eat out 2 nights but that was to one of our favourite restaurants near the hotel. breakfast is my favourite meal at Barcelo. Lots of sun loungers so no running to put towels down at 6am ! If you like cocktails there are so many on the all inclusive menu and delicious. We will be back for our next winter break.
From the lack of hot water in rooms to the deplorable food on offer, not to mention the grown men arguing over sun loungers, this hotel is (very) far from 5 star. We have had to eat elsewhere each night.. its near impossible to find space near a pool & the front line staff are either embarrassed or don't care.
The hotel rating system in Tenerife needs serious restructuring.
Food offering is of very poor quality. We have had to go out to eat every evening. Luckily there are other restaurants in walking distance. There are no where near enough sun loungers and we have witnessed numerous altercations/shouting between other guests which is really unpleasant. The staff seem fed up with the same complaints from different guests and appear helpless to do anything. No sign of any management despair several requests to speak to a manager or guest relations.
We had had to listen to people
We’ve always been happy with our holidays here, good hotel and great food and drink.
The staff polite and friendly.
Food was really nice. Staff is helpful and kind. Beds are the worst on the planet. Rooms are old and not so convenient.
3 days into our holiday and our experience is exceptional. Valentin, Daniel and Eliass are great fun, attentive and professional in the Breeze restaurant. To see how Valentin cleaned a baby seat after its use showed how dedicated the staff are to very high standards.
We recently stayed at Barceló Hotels & Resorts in Tenerife for what was meant to be a special family occasion. Unfortunately, the experience fell well below the standards reasonably expected of a five-star property, particularly in relation to service consistency, food options, and overall guest treatment.
To their credit, the hotel did acknowledge the issues raised and offered a complimentary upgrade on a future stay. However, this was neither a practical nor appropriate resolution for us, as we do not intend to return to Tenerife and are unlikely to consider this property again.
While there were some positive aspects, the overall experience was disappointing and did not reflect the level of service the brand promotes.
Fabulous hotel, particularly enjoying the Royal Level service. Excellent food, lots of great hotel colleagues like Valentin in the Breeze restaurant at lunchtime where we have enjoyed superb food and wine.
Would definitely recommend.
A lukewarm experience, thanks to a poorly handled room allocation and an equally poor subsequent customer care experience. Our pre-stay request for a twin room, not a double, was ignored by reservations. We had pre-selected a lateral sea-view room. Upon checking in, our room was a double. This was not acceptable. Reception said they would send the housekeeper to change it, then the shambles began. We were asked to re-pack, change rooms to a different room type, then re-un-pack. I then attempted to obtain a refund for the room allocation fee (73 Euros) plus a refund for the difference in room type (we were now in a pool view room). There then ensued endless WhatsApp messages with two of their staff, Daiana and Francesca, both of whom were hopeless. It took three days to sort out the room allocation refund, and the other refund still isn't with me. Just really poor, uncoordinated customer service, which spoilt an otherwise fairly decent holiday. The buffet food is standard all-inclusive stuff, as is the evening entertainment. Nothing especially fantastic. This place is overall a *** property in our experience of staying at many resorts worldwide, its staff being the weak spot.
The stay at the hotel was good. The rooms are big. The weight room is average ate best. The food is plentiful but not amazing. The service was okay. The location is away from everything. The sports court need some love.
We have stayed in this hotels many times and usually stay for 4 weeks or more. This time we upgraded to Royal Level and really loved it. The exclusive areas (restaurant and pool) really enhanced our holiday.
The restaurant is more intimate, it has a fab view of the sea and is as fantastic inside as it is outside (great heaters). Without exception the staff are fabulous, they provide a great service and it feels very chilled, The a la carte options for breakfast are excellent and there is a great buffet to supplement it. They also provide table service for drinks (excellent coffee) and they don't rush you out after you've eaten. Nothing feels too much trouble.
The restaurant also provides a la carte options for dinner which were great. Our only criticism of dinner is that the buffet options could be more comprehensive and would like ice cream to be available.
We ate lunch in Breeze a couple of days (good choices and great service) most days we ate in Drago (great buffet choices for all courses) and once in their speciality restaurant (Arrozante) the starters were wonderful and a great paella, again great service.
We had a drink most eventings in the B.Lounge, friendly staff that provide good service. There is entetainment, good music that doesn't stop you chatting to your friends/family. There is another bar and outside stage that offers more lively entrainment if that's your thing.
The Royal Level pool area also offers a drinks (and snacks) service, which is a great touch. There are plenty of sun loungers, though some don't have mattresses. Also there 5 or 6 cabanas which are very popular.
There is work going on refurbishing the hotel next door but we didn't find it disturbed our holiday at all.
From the coast side of the hotel it is a lovely walk to Los Abridges to the left or to the right there are other hotels, some bars, restaurants and shops (including a supermarket).
Excellent service, quick and friendly, Should be more proactive with pool & evening meal drink service. Rooms a little tired but great size. No disfunction in rooms, all 100% 'working well' Beds could be softer. Will happily go back, very good value for money. The'star' system probably not as rigorous as uk but a thoroughly great stay
People reserving sunbeds for hours and hours without even laying on them or even being there. This seems trivial but I do not go on holiday to continually worry if i need to get up to get a bed.Its not hard, if people don't use there sunbed for at least 30 mins, remove there towel...simple.
A very enjoyable few days. Effortless booking-in, spotless room, quiet location overlooking the pool ( with a "corner" sea view.)
The breakfast and dinner buffet for half-board were good and the bar reasonably priced.
No complaints at all.
Second time here and it did exactly what we wanted, quiet holiday in a comfortable hotel. We stayed in a family room with our adult daughter who was next to us but had full independence with door able to be closed from both sides. I have used Barcelo before and find their beds and pillows very comfortable, staff were all very friendly and professional. We had all inclusive and quality of drinks and service was good, felt breakfast was excellent (really good smoothie and juice bar). Would like a bit more choice and hotter food on the on evenings. My only criticism would be that despite what time you arrive even if you arrive late on an evening, e.g. 8 or 9 o’clock at night they still cut off your all inclusive band at 12 o’clock on the day of checkout which means you will not have access to any food or drink facilities after 12 noon while you wait for your flight. You need to pay as you go.
No good for people with disabilities
Rooms Poor
Beds good Barcello Tenerife
Depending on room location a trip to the Drago to and fro is about 2,200 steps
Nice hotel but not really 5 star. Food was ok. Breakfast was good but the dinner was pretty standard hotel buffet fare, nothing special. One pool was heated but the others were too cold certainly at this time of year.. Gym was small and always very busy in the mornings. Location of the hotel is good away from the main commercial areas but walkable to a nice little fishing village..
By constanly reminding you of their Royal Level (separate reception, separate pool, separate restaurant and bar) they achieved the quite difficult feat of making a stay in a 5 star hotel feel like a second class experience. We stayed in Tivoli La Caleta last time we were here which is in a different area but was a better hotel.
Although the hotel was excellent in service and friendliness and food was good, although we only did bed and breakfast, it is more suited to families with children and sun worshippers than to us.
We would not return but would certainly recommend this venue to those above.
The Barcelo hotel is a fabulous experience . I just made a Letiz glass necklace with Samu and Michaela from the animation team and they were wonderful. They gave really helpful tips were very friendly and made the workshop really fun and enjoyable.
The food is gorgeous and it’s only ten minutes from the airport .
I already want to come back !!
Gin and tonics are yummy .
Thank you Barcelo hotel and staff for wonderful service and hospitality.
