We have stayed in this hotels many times and usually stay for 4 weeks or more. This time we upgraded to Royal Level and really loved it. The exclusive areas (restaurant and pool) really enhanced our holiday.
The restaurant is more intimate, it has a fab view of the sea and is as fantastic inside as it is outside (great heaters). Without exception the staff are fabulous, they provide a great service and it feels very chilled, The a la carte options for breakfast are excellent and there is a great buffet to supplement it. They also provide table service for drinks (excellent coffee) and they don't rush you out after you've eaten. Nothing feels too much trouble.
The restaurant also provides a la carte options for dinner which were great. Our only criticism of dinner is that the buffet options could be more comprehensive and would like ice cream to be available.
We ate lunch in Breeze a couple of days (good choices and great service) most days we ate in Drago (great buffet choices for all courses) and once in their speciality restaurant (Arrozante) the starters were wonderful and a great paella, again great service.
We had a drink most eventings in the B.Lounge, friendly staff that provide good service. There is entetainment, good music that doesn't stop you chatting to your friends/family. There is another bar and outside stage that offers more lively entrainment if that's your thing.
The Royal Level pool area also offers a drinks (and snacks) service, which is a great touch. There are plenty of sun loungers, though some don't have mattresses. Also there 5 or 6 cabanas which are very popular.
There is work going on refurbishing the hotel next door but we didn't find it disturbed our holiday at all.
From the coast side of the hotel it is a lovely walk to Los Abridges to the left or to the right there are other hotels, some bars, restaurants and shops (including a supermarket).
Excellent service, quick and friendly, Should be more proactive with pool & evening meal drink service. Rooms a little tired but great size. No disfunction in rooms, all 100% 'working well' Beds could be softer. Will happily go back, very good value for money. The'star' system probably not as rigorous as uk but a thoroughly great stay
People reserving sunbeds for hours and hours without even laying on them or even being there. This seems trivial but I do not go on holiday to continually worry if i need to get up to get a bed.Its not hard, if people don't use there sunbed for at least 30 mins, remove there towel...simple.
A very enjoyable few days. Effortless booking-in, spotless room, quiet location overlooking the pool ( with a "corner" sea view.)
The breakfast and dinner buffet for half-board were good and the bar reasonably priced.
No complaints at all.
Second time here and it did exactly what we wanted, quiet holiday in a comfortable hotel. We stayed in a family room with our adult daughter who was next to us but had full independence with door able to be closed from both sides. I have used Barcelo before and find their beds and pillows very comfortable, staff were all very friendly and professional. We had all inclusive and quality of drinks and service was good, felt breakfast was excellent (really good smoothie and juice bar). Would like a bit more choice and hotter food on the on evenings. My only criticism would be that despite what time you arrive even if you arrive late on an evening, e.g. 8 or 9 o’clock at night they still cut off your all inclusive band at 12 o’clock on the day of checkout which means you will not have access to any food or drink facilities after 12 noon while you wait for your flight. You need to pay as you go.
No good for people with disabilities
Rooms Poor
Beds good Barcello Tenerife
Depending on room location a trip to the Drago to and fro is about 2,200 steps
Nice hotel but not really 5 star. Food was ok. Breakfast was good but the dinner was pretty standard hotel buffet fare, nothing special. One pool was heated but the others were too cold certainly at this time of year.. Gym was small and always very busy in the mornings. Location of the hotel is good away from the main commercial areas but walkable to a nice little fishing village..
By constanly reminding you of their Royal Level (separate reception, separate pool, separate restaurant and bar) they achieved the quite difficult feat of making a stay in a 5 star hotel feel like a second class experience. We stayed in Tivoli La Caleta last time we were here which is in a different area but was a better hotel.
Although the hotel was excellent in service and friendliness and food was good, although we only did bed and breakfast, it is more suited to families with children and sun worshippers than to us.
We would not return but would certainly recommend this venue to those above.
The Barcelo hotel is a fabulous experience . I just made a Letiz glass necklace with Samu and Michaela from the animation team and they were wonderful. They gave really helpful tips were very friendly and made the workshop really fun and enjoyable.
The food is gorgeous and it’s only ten minutes from the airport .
I already want to come back !!
Gin and tonics are yummy .
Thank you Barcelo hotel and staff for wonderful service and hospitality.
Our Family stayed at Barcelo Tenerife for half term week (all-inclusive) we joined them on a day pass on the all-inclusive deal.
Wow what a beautiful hotel fantastic pool area and the lake are stunning where you can join in kayaking and other activities.
A big shout out to the entertainment team especially Ivan and the lovely Alice who are a credit to the hotel friendly and professional.
Bar areas and Restaurant's brilliant all staff are so friendly and welcoming, food and drink 5 Star ⭐.
Would love to come back again!
a fantastic resort to stay in. close to the airport so transfer does not take long. a lot to do nearby, like running, hiking, enjoying the seaside view or going to local restaurants and bars, shops. a very clean and beautiful place to stay. the hotel staff is friendly, very service minded. the romms are cleaned daily and thorough. the food variety is enormous, there is al lot of beverages choices. during lunch dinner, etc but also the cocktails, wines, spirtis, etc. Swiiming is great. there are enough pools, one heated one. enough beds near the pool to rest on. definetely a place to go back to
A beautiful, enchanting hotel with very friendly staff trying to do everything for a perfect holiday experience. Delicious food ( buffet) and drinks
We spent the last week in February at Barcelo and would summarise as follows: -
Positive: -
1. Friendly staff.
2. Quirky style - a large complex but a very different look to your usual big Spanish hotel. I like the fact that it is built into a nature park and you can do a tour of San Blas at 9.30 am every morning. Peaceful despite the size.
3. Lovely and well maintained gardens. There are some great spaces between all the rooms. You don't feel crammed it at all, with a village feel to it.
4. Well signed, so it's always easy to find your way around.
5. Breeze bar- good and very affordable lunch meals available (we had the poke bowl, tortellini, and gambas).
6. Dolce Vita - good pizzas.
7. Rooms- we had a family suite, which was essentially two adjoining rooms. Huge space, comfy beds, and seemed clean. Beds made every day, floor mopped and new towels provided.
Negatives: -
1. Pretty much on the airport flight path, so if you like plane spotting, this is for you.
2. Food in the buffet is hit and miss. The non-carvery meat was poor. Granola too sugary. Lots of bland dishes. Breakfast generally better than dinner. That said, there was always something for everyone.
3. Drinks were of a poor standard/poor choice for 5 star. Not much else apart from the local beer Dorada (didn't like), Heineken (mass produced garbage) and Cruzcampo (boring lager). The house wine was like paint stripper and they offered no high end bottles. They need a much more expansive wine list and need to offer another two or three by the class. Very disappointing.
4. The shower didn't work in one of the rooms.
5. Air-conditioning was rattling.
6. Bit of a shortage of sunbeds one or two days.
7. No mini bar or menu in the room. You have to order on the app, which we found impossible to use so gave up in the end. Again, frustrating as I did want to order a couple of nights.
8. Clean but will need a bit of redecorating in the not too distant future. Corridors were a bit of a mess in places.
9. Anything but adults only. If you don't want to swim in the only heated pool with a bunch of toddlers in nappies, maybe look elsewhere. The other pools were freezing (the heated one wasn't much warmer).
Despite the relatively minor issues above, which they could easily do something about, I would probably visit again.
Good even mix of nationalities - French, UK, German, Scandinavian, E European countries etc.
Plenty of things to enjoy. The loction is not the best as there are no easy walks to oher restaurants and cafes.
We're still here but felt compelled to leave a review, this huge hotel is classy, clean and customised to offer guests a bit of everything, the team that run the hotel go above and beyond. The pools are clean and cool, you're facing the Atlantic so its windy but the sun has been shining, the bar teams and restaurant teams work tirelessly to make our/your holiday wonderful and memorable, our room was kept clean but far away on the 3rd floor we still get lost. Take a walk over to the harbour in Los Abrigos jump in before sundowners and in the morning you can see Stingrays and Turtles, we upgraded to AI which was €30 pppd, would I come back, possibly? I did email the hotel in advance to say we were coming for my husband's 50th but they never responded and I didn't want to have to go back to them after our room had been allocated, (no way would I have found reception which is on the 4th floor) we predominantly stay in Barceló hotels and there's always a kind little note welcoming us back so I was slightly disappointed on this occasion that no effort was done nor even a mention of his special birthday but we had fun nevertheless.
Having now returned to this hotel for a second time, it is proof enough to recommend a stay; we will return. The Staff, The Food, The Hotel, the Ambience, If you do stay, I am of the belief your expectations will be met,
I honestly have adored it, this is an incredible hotel. The staff are wonderful!
Sami the entertainer is just beautiful and was majestic!
I have travelled far and wide but this is somewhere I will absolutely return.
Barcelo and your amazing staff.
We really enjoyed our two week stay at Barcelo Tenerife. Our room was lovely and bright and kept immaculately. Food was excellent especially the desserts. Pools were lovely and pool bars great. Staff were so friendly and polite. Lovely walks nearby and a good bus service to Los Cristianos outside.
The service was excellent from start to finish. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner buffet presented a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes.
We had a great time at this hotel, huge spacious rooms and big hotel. Good food choices and friendly staff, special mention to Alice at kids club who made our kids trip even more special and fun! Not a huge amount around hotel, nice board walk along sea, and very close to airport which was very convenient! A side note, evening entertainment is outdoor and music can be heard from your room if you were staying close to the plaza area and wanting early night with kids! We were close to reception so minimal disruption!
