I stayed here recently for just 1 night. It's a standard Fairfield Inn close to many eateries and the casino. The reason for the low rating is that it's located right next to a low budget hotel or apartment complex. There were people outside talking/yelling for hours. They are not part of the hotel, so no need to complain to the front desk. It was a Monday night and the temps were in the 30's, very odd. There were kids and adults making an awful racket all night.
Hotel was clean. The rooms were weirdly set up. TV was in front of the mirror and made the room seem tight. As most hotels now daily housekeeping is not provided unless requested. I did request service but was told they were short staffed and couldn't perform housekeeping. There was also a mouse trap by an exit door which was off putting
We stayed here as we were passing through. The check in process was fine, the building was a little older. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower pressure was ok, the water temperature could have been a bit warmer.
When we got back from dinner the fire alarms were on. The front desk staff were working hard to get them turned off, which took about 20 or so minutes and during this time we could not be in our rooms because of the loudness.
Bonus that they had a hot tub.
The hotel is in dire need of a remodel. The rooms smelled and just really not taken care of for a Marriott property.
Perfect location. We wanted to see some things in Scranton but be out of the city We had TGIF right on property and a casino down the street staff was friendly rooms comfy and breakfast very good
The staff when checking in were nice. The room is definitely outdated, especially the TVs. The lack of streaming options is an interesting choice. The pullout sofa wasn’t very clean so I ended up just sleeping on top of the couch. Parking was easy but clearly in a seedy area, questioning safety of the car. The gym looked very rundown.

Hot tub was not in working order. Everything else was wonderful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. Staff were friendly snd helpful. Would definitely come back again.
Blood on comforter. Window curtains that wouldn’t close. Tv remote turned on tv but no other button worked.
We enjoyed our room it was clean comfortable and the breakfast was phenomenal We would stay there again if we ever get north thank you
Clean
Staff was wonderful, front desk and breakfast area, very helpful and pleasant. Because the highway is so close, there is truck noise.
Service was great. The property itself was okay. The other rental properties surrounding the building made it seem unsafe, and gave me pause.
Business trip - easy and nice stay
We stayed only for the night and had to leave early morning for a conference! We really wanted good, quality sleep and the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean and in good condition.
We had a good time staying at the Fairfield Inn.
Pros include (1) spacious room and bathroom, (2) easy check-in, (3) good breakfast, (4) friendly staff and (5) strong value. We were upgraded to a suite, unprompted!
Cons include (1) bed was not super comfortable (neither of us slept super well), (2) I got the sense that the room had an slight smell (i.e., kind of damp; would caveat that my spouse disagreed), and (3) our room had a view to a literal white wall 7 feet away.
Overall great value, but not as good as some of the other hotels in the area.
We were traveling on a return trip from Yankee game. Beds are small, faucet was loose, needs a lot of attention to update this facility. Breakfast attendants were amazing and very helpful
Room was clean, quiet and very nice. Great breakfast and staff was quick to get us checked in and gave us all the info we needed for our overnight stay.
At 8:30 am, breakfast items were, in some cases, exhausted. Bananas were mostly brown/black…a real turn-off but, unfortunately, a common occurrence with some hotels. A very poorly run hotel in this regard.
The reception/registration clerk was great…very welcoming and intent on providing a good experience.
Unfortunately because I live within a 30 mile radius of hotel they wouldn’t allow me stay
