First-class service.
Pros:

The service is amazing, the rooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable, the famous King Cool bar is fantastic with a great vibe, they offer a delicious breakfast and the hotel has a lot of history, I recommend it.

Cons:

Compared to other luxury hotels, and in terms of quality and price, it did seem a bit expensive to me.

Disappointed
Pros:

Beautiful room and corridors incredible location

Cons:

Found the staff particularly at reception quite cold and rude. There is no communal area to sit and enjoy a drink and you have to queue to get entry for the bar which is far too small. For this type of price I would expect a much better experience from the staff and better facilities in communal areas. Really disappointing to be honest

Horrific Wedding Experience
Pros:

Our wedding at The St. Regis was supposed to be one of the most meaningful days of our lives, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by poor service, unfulfilled promises, and unethical business practices. From start to finish, we encountered repeated disappointments and mismanagement that no couple should ever have to endure—especially from a hotel of this supposed caliber. To begin, customer service was consistently dismissive and disorganized. The sales catering manager even attended our private wedding tasting—an experience that should have been intimate and personal—without explanation or invitation. She was also served alcohol and the same food we were eating, (everything we were given, she was also given) while she was at work; which is beyond unprofessional. It made the experience extremely uncomfortable and not enjoyable.

Billing practices were equally concerning, with unexpected and undisclosed fees such as a $500+ “portage fee” for simply having our luggage brought upstairs. Not once were we given the option to handle our own belongings, which makes this fee feel deceptive and unethical. Not to mention, my bride's gown was left on the luggage cart in the lobby for over 5 hours, with half of her gown laying on the floor, unattended to and dismissed.

Even more disappointing, the St. Regis signature champagne sabering ceremony—something we were told would be part of our celebration—was abruptly denied during the event by a staff member we had never met, claiming no one had informed her. We have this moment on film, and it was both embarrassing and deeply upsetting. She rudely approached us during our cake cutting and told us we could not saber the champagne because no one communicated that to her- again another example of poor communication and promises that were not met.

The most egregious issue, however, remains the fraudulent handling of our Marriott Bonvoy points. Despite having written confirmation that these points would be credited after our event, we have still never received them. This has cost us thousands of dollars toward our honeymoon and future trips, and after numerous attempts to resolve it, we have only faced evasion and unfulfilled promises. It has been two months since our wedding and we have not received any Marriott Bonvoy Points.

The emotional and financial distress caused by The St. Regis has been immense. What should have been a joyous milestone turned into a prolonged ordeal involving attorneys, accountants, and emotional recovery. The trauma is so severe and what we experienced was beyond horrific that it has led to psychological and emotional distress, that is beyond repair. This is a day we can never get back and we have very little happy moments of it. It is heartbreaking that such an iconic brand could display such disregard for its clients. We never once received an apology either for any of it.

To anyone considering hosting an event or wedding here: please proceed with extreme caution. The level of unprofessionalism, lack of transparency, and failure to honor commitments were nothing short of devastating, traumatizing, and sickening. Even the person we had the most communication with throughout the planning process, told us she would "never get married here because she knows too much." That alone should have been a warning to us, but unfortunately it was too late at that point.

Our wedding nightmare
Pros:

Our experience with The St. Regis Hotel as our wedding venue was nothing short of appalling and unprofessional from start to finish. What should have been one of the most special times of our lives was instead overshadowed by the venue’s constant mismanagement, lack of professionalism, and dishonesty.

From the very beginning, we were made to feel like a burden rather than valued clients. During our wedding tasting, the company's sales director and a trainee joined us, which was very uncomfortable and awkward, as they were served alcohol during our own wedding tasting, and during what was supposed to be, their day at work. Our wedding tasting, should have been a private and intimate thing that was just for us to enjoy. Not to mention, the food they gave us at our tasting, was not the food we were given at the reception.

Equally disturbing was the dishonesty regarding what was included in our package. Promises were made in writing and then outright denied later on, with excuses and dismissals replacing accountability. Instead of transparency, we were met with misdirection and stonewalling.

The billing department was yet another nightmare. Their incompetence led to repeated errors, and even after our wedding, they attempted to overcharge us in what can only be described as an attempt at fraud. We had to provide extensive proof, and even consult legal support to resolve the situation—something no couple should ever have to deal with after their wedding day.

For a venue that markets itself as luxury, The St. Regis Hotel in NYC failed at every level of professionalism, honesty, and basic client respect. They did not make us feel special, cared for, or even fairly treated. Instead, they left us feeling disrespected and taken advantage of. We could not even get a glass of champagne when we walked in on our wedding day to check into the hotel. It is very unfortunate that we have had this experience, and it's a day we can never get back.

A day as meaningful as your wedding deserves to be handled with care, integrity, and professionalism—qualities this venue has repeatedly shown it does not possess.

Lisa elevates the St Regis NYC Experience
Pros:

The St. Regis New York is always exceptional, but this stay was truly elevated thanks to their concierge, Lisa Bullock. From start to finish she went above and beyond—arranging my pick-up, securing great restaurants and shows, and taking care of every detail in between.

What impressed me most was how quickly she understood my preferences and created an itinerary that fit me perfectly. Lisa made everything effortless and turned my weekend into a memorable experience. She is a true asset to the hotel, and it was such a pleasure working with her.

Comfortable Room and Nice Experience
Pros:

I had a really positive experience-
The good things are abundant: for starters- and maybe most importantly-- the room for sleep quality is simply magnificent. I wish I could replicate it at home: room is very dark, cool, bed extremely comfortable- the mattress became quite firm I noticed (other commented on feeling springs. but it's not. just on the firm side but quite nice)- and amazing comforter. Room is clean, comfortable, great housekeeping. Service with the butler, despite what others said- was really good. They pick right up, things I requested was morning coffee and turn-down, and they did those things reliably.
My negative I'd initially written (but edited out) was that I felt the front desk was cold, didn't recognize status (at all, not whatsoever), and I got no upgrade at all, again not whatsoever.
But a manager Andy Pino called me, and he was very caring, took criticism seriously, offered me some discounts, wanted to make it right, and it came across as very genuine and empathetic. He explained the challenges of upgrading folks, apologized for the front desk treatment. That was very nice of him and made a big difference to me- I'd probably come back based on that kindness alone. Very nice gesture.
So overall I gave it 4 stars- slept great and had a really nice experience. The front desk at this particular St Regis (not other st regis hotels at all)- just this one- they're pretty harsh and cold, but probably working on that. But I'd come back and enjoyed the good room and service- their manager Andy really cares, so I'll be back: highly recommend.
