Guter Ort, um abzuschalten.
Pros:

Die Lage war zwar mit wunderbarem Ausblick, aber doch ziemlich weit vom Ort entfernt. Ohne Auto ist es sicher nicht für jeden zu empfehlen.
Das Frühstück war gut und umfangreich.

Cons:

Man merkt, dass das Hotel schon einige Jahre alt ist und seither nichts renoviert wurde. Es war alles sauber, aber an manchen Ecken konnte man ihm das Alter ansehen.

Pros:

A localização é excelente uma vista óptima para o mar de todos os quartos.
A simpatia dos funcionários

Cons:

É um alojamento já antigo a necessitar de renovação, alguns materiais degradados.
A temperatura da água no chuveiro é intermitente com água fria a sair a meio do duche.
No pequeno-almoço convinha ter uma torradeira , pois fazer as torradas na tostadeira não é apropriado.

Cons:

Pas de spa, pourtant annoncé comme ouvert dans la présentation de l’établissement.

Good value hotel outside of Ville do Porto
Pros:

Stayed for one night whilst visiting Santa Maria. The hotel is located a little outside of Villa do Porto with plenty of parking at the hotel, easy to access if you have your own transport, but a long walk uphill otherwise; I’d advise renting transport to get the best out of a visit to Santa Maria anyway. The hotel building from the outside looks more like a college than a hotel (with no sign over the entrance) but once inside check-in was quick and efficient.

Although I visited at the end of the season there an event on the island so only apartments were available; this consisted of a large bedroom, bathroom and a sitting room with small kitchen area; clean and comfortable with good views of the countryside from the large windows. The bed was comfortable and the WI-FI and shower both worked well.

No restaurant, but the bar area served a selection of tasty food (pizza, pasta, burgers etc), as well as both Azorean and Portuguese beers. Pleasant terrace area with a pool outside, Gym onsite (pay separately to use).

If you are willing to accept a few quirks (understandable due to the remoteness of Santa Maria) this hotel offers a good base to explore the island at reasonable price, if you’re expecting a four-star luxury resort hotel you’re probably on the wrong island!
