“Mee” and her staff were amazing! Beautiful views from the property and were so helpful with organizing day trips, ferry rides, and scooters to rent delivered to the hotel. Completely hassle free and ensured a pleasant stay and experience.
Highly recommend renting a scooter as it is a little off the beaten path and requires walking a few hundred metres to the nearest main road.
Thank you Mee for an amazing stay!
It's been nice
Super
Friendly staff, very clean pool, very quiet and great air conditioning! A great place to stay if you want a quiet vacation
Service excellent, friendly staff
This is a beautiful hotel to visit. The rooms are big, there is sofa, minibar and a balcony with stunning wiew over Lamai beach and beautiful sunsets. It is a wonderful quiet area, no boats because of the shallow waters, no disco, no heavy music. Really nice. It is quite far from bars and restaurants so you should have a car or motorbike. We did not have it, but we also used Boltapp which works really nice. The swimmingpool is nice, with beautiful scenery. On arrival they give you a really sweet cinnemon welcomedrink which is delicious in the heat. It is a bit dark to walk on the road in the evening. The beach is really nice to walk, but you can only go a bit of the beach because of big rocks. The staff is really kind and helpful. We felt very welcome and had a great stay.
Being right on the beach without many people around was great and the restaurant food was amazing. Staff was very good and very polite
Overall much better than expected. The dtaff really went out if their way to jake my stay as comfortable as possible.
After some initial technical difficulties everything went smooth.
I had a great stay - Thanks Tangmo
Warning, warning, warning... This hotel is not good, actually very bad, and very dangerous to stay. Specially if you are a little picky, old, or even worse, if you have a family with younger children.
Please reed my whole serious and honest experience from last week, mid June 2024, before booking.
The Hotel look actually quite nice and charming in it´s special way, located on steep ground, with a good sea-view from many rooms.
The hotel is old but in public areas well kept and it still looks little neat.
But now beware, read carefully:
The hotel is overall in chineese style, not Thai.
If you stay in room with good seaveiw, high up, you will experience a high elevation from pool and dining area to your room. Its a steep walk to reception, and only way up is an inregular home made concrete stairsway whitout any protective handrail. And observe: There is no elevator at all.
The beach is very shallow, it´s a long walk to swemming depths and the low tide stay all day. The exposed sandy/muddy beach surface is full of sharp rocks. In late evening the high tide come, but give too little deapth to swim. But the single small swiming pool is clean, deep, and good for adults, but lack safe areas for children.
Now to the real bad info:
The hotel owner and it´s management totaly lack respect for the security of theres guests.
There is no fire alarm in room, not even local smoke detectors.
And the escape ways and locks to hotel rooms is withut dubt the worst hotel safety standard I ever experienced from thousends of hotels I stayed all arond the globe.
We got "upgraded" to best corner room, penthouse. But in this room we get trapped, locked in, withouy any escape. In the door the lock get stucked. The lock goes into reverse lock and stuck rock hard. Door is quite solid and not easy to force open. Jumping from balcony was no alternative, only a cearten death. We try to call reception on intercom telephone, but the switchoard was kaput, broken, we dont get trough. Thank good our cellphone was charged and we could call external number for help.
But when help arrives and also management, many people, i try to tell about my experience from hotel safety, but there was no respect, no respecte at all. The manager only grinned evilly and deforce.
The only response we got was an offer to change to another room. We accepted and checked out next morning.
Other experiencis from Koh Samui:
We se most young people arriving the island. I also se from internet this island is a party-party island with a huge alkohol and drug consumption.
Price level is high, very, very high, 2-3 times higher than common mainland and cities. Some ceartin areas of turist bussiness in the island is even more expensive, monopolised. We tried to find an 7/11 shop, because hotel charge for small eating was very high. I tried to get an Bolt- or Grab ride, but no response. They are not present in the island, I learnd. Hotel reception tell, only 10 minute walking to closest 7/11. We walked 15 minutes to find an small 7/11 vending mashine. We walked back in 38 degree celsius shadow heat, but in the sun >50… we almost fainted. Back in the hotel we asked reception for a taxi. The hotel receptionist girl tell us, no taxi, only hotel private car is avilable to 7/11. We had to pay for a 2x5 minute ride, 400 THB + tip. Same for a port- or airport transfer, only private hotel car avilable and it was crazy expensive compared to Bangkok or other cities.
Summing up:
The island of Koh Samui is overall nice and most locals of Samui are very helpful and friendly. But this hotel; Cinnamon Beach Villas, standards and price levels, makes it a no-no to recommend to families with children or mid age or elderly people.
This was our fourth stay at CBV, we come back because we love it so much. The staff are so friendly and kind, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotless, and the gardens and surroundings beautifully kept. The hotel restaurant catered to my food allergies and dietary requirements perfectly, the motorcycle we hired was in great condition, and we were very well looked after for our two week stay. Can’t wait to go back 🇹🇭
Large room with a fantastic view. Staff were very helpful and assisted with queries we had. Crystal Beach is worth visiting and very close by.
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Cinnamon Beach Villas with our two young children in a large clean room at the top of the hill. The room had a large comfortable bed and bunkbeds for the children, sofa and large bathroom with great shower and plenty of hot water. Our balcony allowed sea glimpses across the bay and was nice to sit out on at night and listen to the stillness. The room was cleaned daily by staff with complimentary water given and was decorated for mothers day which was a lovely touch.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
Breakfast is held in a small restaurant by the pool with a range of set menu options. Over our stay we had all of the options which were all equally delicious.
The pool is perfectly sized for the hotel size although be aware that the chemicals in the water very quickly discolour cotton items (navy item now a lovely wine colour!)
The beach area allows for some lovely walks out to the reef edge, and great for watching the sand crabs. There are little rock pools where you can watch small fish and see sea urchins attached at the reef edge.
We walked into town for dinner (30min) and you can either walk along the road or along the beach (please check tide times!!!) into town. If walking is not your thing then you will need to get transport into town.
This was a lovely quiet setting with amazing views and we absolutely loved our stay here. We will definitely be returning.
Tips:
There are a lot of stairs down to the beach and breakfast area.
Don't wear your best swimming attire (cotton) as the chemicals will bleach it.
Complimentary water given but water also provided in the mini bar - bottle the same but different cap colour - check or you will be charged!
Rock Bar next door was getting refurbished when we were there - may not get the serene experience we did if it does open.
We booked 2 nights which promised to be a wonderful stay.
However on arriving we were told we could only stay one night andcwrcwoukdvthen be moved.
There was a bug fuss about upgrading us to a penthouse suite but this was no upgrade as tge air con was faulty.
Such a shame as the remote quiet location and pool suited us, however we were moved to a hotel right in the town centre, busy, noisy and very poor.
I would not recommend the Cinnamon as the management were dishonest
The hotel Management did not honour our confirmed booking. Booked 2 nights and were only given 1. The other night we were shipped off to a hell hole of a hotel right in the heart of the nightlife.
Cinnamons work ethics are based on greed as I’m presuming our booking was resold for a higher price hence we were herded off like cattle to a very poor hotel. Think twice about staying here. The hotel were not interested when I raised my dissatisfaction
Beautiful views. Peaceful. Lovely staff. When travelling solo it’s nice to feel safe. Thank you Cinnamon staff. I’d stay with you again.

I absolutely loved my week at this divine location. The super large room with a balcony overlooking the sea and the coast to the south was spectacular. I would wake in my huge bed, listening to the birds singing and looking out onto the bluest water. Bliss.
Then there was Kenny and Rut who managed the Bar and Restaurant on the oceanfront. These two men made my stay with their professional attention to detail, their lovely welcome smiles and tasty cocktails 🍸.
It was the most relaxing week with memories made. The cleaning and reception staff were a delight, always happy and helpful.
And the boulders and rocks along the foreshore were perfect for my penchant for photography.
Thank you Cinnamon Beach Villas.
The property is on a cliff and has a beautiful view of the ocean. I highly recommend this hotel if you don’t want to pay the rates of a four or five star hotel.
I loved the fact it was on the beach....great "fresh water" pool....good food at the onsite restaurant....and drinks at the bar.Great views too ....to add .
Erittäin mukava paikka ja henksulle täydät pinnat!
Pikku vastoinkäymiset henkiläkunta hoiti ihan täydellisesti asiakkaan suuntaan,lämmin suositus tälle paikalle👍👍👍
A very pleasant hotel with extremely nice and attentive staff.
It was mine and my partner's one year anniversary so we booked this place to celebrate...one of the staff member named watermelon went above and beyond to make our room and stay amazing.
The rest of the staff were equally as friendly and helpful and I honestly can not recommended this place enough.
Will definitely be returning.
Thanks again watermelon .
