Der Westerhof Tegernsee Hotel

The location is on a hill with beautiful green grounds surrounding the hotel, overlooking the Tegernsee (lake) The rooms were modern and comfortable, there's a nice terrace to enjoy coffee or tea, and a self service bar available. Our dog also liked the spacious gardens the the forest paths.

This is the best place to stay if you want a clean room with a spectacular view of Tegernsee. Also included is one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve ever had in our travels to Germany. They have assorted meats, smoked salmon, fruits, assorted jellies, the best coffee and more. I highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

Sehr schöne aussicht. Mit dem Auto ca 6 min vom Zentrum, aber zu Fuss unmöglich, da die Strasse sehr steil ist. Also muss man jedes mal runterfahren und Parkplatz suchen. Das Hotel hat leider nichts, ausser Bad and Breakfast. Keine Verpflegung (Restaurant), keine Bar, kein Pool. Also trotz wunderschönen Aussicht, kann man nichts machen!
Matratze leider Katastrophe, kein Klima!!

My family and I recently stayed at Der Westerhof. We so enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, and a delicious breakfast was served every morning. We had a gorgeous view of lake Tegernsee from our room. We would definitely recommend Der Westerhof for a stay in Tegernsee.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The only downside was the lack of room service or evening dining options. To find a restaurant, you need to walk down to the lakes and then make your way back up a steep set of stairs, which takes around 20 minutes, depending on your fitness level. Taxis are also scarce in the area. While the location is beautiful, having your own vehicle would be ideal. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful during my stay, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Nettes Hotel Ausstattung nur Standard und eher in die Jahre gekommen. Für den Zimmerpreis zu einfache Ausstattung und leider kein Pool

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. Our room was fabulous, and that view was spectacular. Breakfast was the best food I had in Germany with a view that did not disappoint! The front desk people were helpful and spoke English. The dining staff were wonderful, and though they didn't speak English and we didn't speak German, were extremely welcoming. The one drawback is that it was difficult to access with the road closed when we were there. We walked up the path with our suitcases from the Bahnstation - it was memorable to say the least; I would recommend taking a taxi up if you have bags!

The hotel was in a beautiful setting. The views were amazing.
The rooms were clean and very neat.
The breakfast was lovely and News Day the dining room was decorated and a wonderful cake was served.
The coffee and afternoon cake was outstanding.
The hotel is not one for people who want to be in town.
There is a lovely restaurant and bar 5 mins walk from the hotel. Perfect.
The thing thay made our stay was the people. Breakfast served with a smile and the reception desk so knowledge about the local area and always willing to help.
Thank you to everyone for a family run feel and welcoming stay.

Such a comfortable friendly stay. Set in beautifully kept gardens with magnificent views. Steep scenic walk into town. Cows with cow bells! Great breakfast. Honesty bar. Really clean rooms and in fact all areas. Staff always willing to help.

The hotel and staff were great. The location has wonderful view. There is currently road construction that blocks the road to the free hotel parking some part of time.

Beautiful hotel, with spectacular views of the lake. But, it was a bit of a hike to the waterfront and city center. The walk down wasn’t bad, the walk back was cab worthy. The hotel is very nice, excellent breakfast, service and views.

This is a nice place. The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, and the view of the lake is just stunning. The room, carpet, and some of the furniture had seen better days. But the bathroom was updated and the bed was comfortable. Just a note, the hotel is a very steep walk 20 minutes up a hill from town. You wouldn't walk it unless you wanted some serious exercise. But overall, I'd return.

schönes Hotel oberhalb vom Tegernsee mit einem Traumblick

We stayed early September 2020 (during the pandemic) and were made to feel very safe. The hotel had made good plans for the breakfast room to ensure everyone was protected, and kept away from each other. The breakfast selection was great. The hotel is up a large hill, so either have a car, or use an e-bike (can be arranged at the hotel), as they are not offering their shuttle service at the moment. There is a footway (treppenweg) from Tegernsee town, which avoids walking a long way round up the road, look for the yellow signs. We stayed in the Berghaus (which is the self-catering building) although our room rate included breakfast, and had a lovely 1 bed apartment, with comfortable bed, with balcony. The shower was a little tired, and not thermostat controlled so the temperature went up and down a little, but we coped. It had a well fitted out kitchen (though we didn't use it), and hotel provided bottled water each day. All the staff were extremely friendly, and helpful (even with my shameful lack of speaking German). We'll stay here again if in the area.
