I have stayed in many hotels before, but this one surpasses them all by far, especially because of the incredible staff
Pros:

Amazing every thing perfectly special the stuff

Everything was outstanding, especially the staff. I would rate this hotel more than 100%! The cleanliness, comfort, location, safety, and above all, the exceptional staff and their willingness to help were simply amazing.

I will always choose to stay at this hotel, and I will definitely book it again whenever I visit Taormina in the future. Words cannot truly describe how wonderful this hotel is. Honestly, I was surprised that it is only a four-star hotel—I would personally rate it seven stars.

5 Star Experience at this Lovely 4 Star Boutique Hotel
Pros:

My husband and I traveled around Sicily in mid June and this was our first Hotel on the itinerary. This 4 star hotel gets 5 stars for customer service, it's lovely full buffet breakfast, well air conditioned rooms during a heat wave, and for its employee Joshua, this concierge was beyond helpful and accommodating in every way. He recommended a fantastic restaurant for dinner- Giardini Di Babilona and also booked us a private boat ride on a very nice boat with great shade and a fantastic guide fluent in English. The hotel was conveniently located walking distance into the town of Taormina. I would highly recommend this hotel to discerning travelers.

Absolutely Worth It
Pros:

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Belvedere on our honeymoon in Sicily, and it was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in…ever. The hotel itself is gorgeous with stunning views of the sea and beautiful gardens. All of the fruiting trees and ivy create such a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was spacious, and we loved our little balcony. The pool is great for those days you don’t want to trek down to the beach (we did both usually). The breakfast was wonderful as well.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the hallways smell amazing. The location is absolutely perfect as well. Taormina can be tricky with it being on a cliff. I’d hate to have to be down low near the water and have to climb up or rely on a shuttle to get to town. This hotel is a quick walk into town and a quick walk to the gondolas/steps down. The bus is also close by, which we used to go to Giardini Naxos.
Above all, the thing that stood out the most to us, even with all the amazing things the hotel offers, was the hospitality. Everyone who worked there was so nice and accommodating. We felt truly taken care of. The attention to detail and customer service felt genuine. My husband and I already plan to return on a future anniversary and will be staying at the Villa Belvedere.

Good position average staff
Pros:

Hotel is nice but some staff at the front desk are tired and have an attitude of ‘couldnt be bothered ‘.Almost seems like some of them havent travelled before and do not understand the real importance of what a ‘real’ comcierge with connections and knowledge can do !
The hotel is pretty the position is good .
Dont use their parking service as there is covered parking 50 m before the hotel . After 2 nights our bmw was covered in bird poo and we had to ask the guy to remove it before we left .. if not he wouldnt have ! Feels like the hotel gets clients anyway as taormona is popular BUT the front staff are lacking in professionalism , enthusiasm and kindness … perhaps they could benefit from a holiday ?

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location to experience Taormina
Pros:

My wife and I have just returned home from a super weeks' stay at Hotel Villa Belvedere in Taormina; in fact, we think it is the best holiday we have ever had!

The hotel is located an easy stroll (5 minutes) from the centre of the town, where you can find all the shops, bars and restaurants you could wish for. We thought we might have to do a lot of hill climbing given the elevated location of the main town, but the hotel is pretty much at the same level as the town centre so getting around on foot is easy. There is also a beautiful public garden right next to the hotel that you can walk through when heading into town. We had a sea view room with a large terrace which gave stunning views (I would definitely recommend choosing a sea view option if you can).

The hotel is traditionally styled / furnished and all the decor in the rooms and main hotel areas looks fresh and is kept spotlessly clean. We often stay in more modern looking hotels, but we are so glad we chose the more traditional style for our stay in Taormina as it fits in perfectly with the charm of the town and we felt very at home.

Our room wasn't quite ready on arrival, but we were given a complimentary glass of prosecco and had a wonderful welcome briefing from Adriana who explained all about the resort and helped us plan activities and gave us recommendations for restaurants etc.

Breakfast in the hotel was lovely, with a good range of Italian favourites including freshly made pastries, Italian meats/cheeses/antipasti, as well as hot options (including eggs / pancakes / waffles cooked to order). The pool area is a lovely spot to relax and take in the views out to sea when you are not exploring the town. We had no trouble getting sun-loungers, regardless of the time of day we turned-up. The pool bar is also very nice and serves good quality lunches if you don't want to go into town.

There is no restaurant service in the hotel in the evening, but there is so much choice in the town this was not a problem at all. Most of the restaurants offer Italian cuisine, especially seafood and fresh pasta, pizza etc. We tried restaurants at different price-points and every meal we had was lovely (although the wine was quite expensive compared to what we would normally get in the UK with the cheapest bottles starting around the 35 EUR mark).

If you like the beach, then there are some nice pebbly beaches in Taormina. They are a bit of a trek to reach downhill: We walked down the MANY steps to get there (only advisable if you are pretty fit) but took the cable car back to town on return, which was only 6 EUR each and good fun. We paid 20 EUR each for a beach sun-lounger for the day and there are a nice selection of bars / restaurants on the beach for lunch & snacks.

One of the excursions Adriana recommended was a boat trip from nearby Giardini-Naxos along the coastline, with a guide pointing out the main sights (accompanied by a few glasses of prosecco) and we would definitely recommend this - especially with private taxis picking us up from the hotel to the harbour and back again (all sorted out by the hotel).

There was a real family-feel to the hotel and all of the staff (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, bar, pool) were delightful. They could not do enough to make us feel welcome, and always gave a big smile. Every staff member is a credit to the hotel: "thank you to you all".

We usually go for a 5-star hotel when we go on holiday, and were initially put off by the 4-star rating of Hotel Villa Belvedere, but decided to give it a try due to the very favourable Trip Advisor reviews... and we are so glad we did. If, like us, you like your holidays to be super-luxurious, then please do not be put off by the 4-star rating. We had a better time at Hotel Villa Belvedere than anywhere else we have stayed. We will definitely return.

I hope this review is helpful if you are considering visiting yourself. You won't regret it!

I stayed in a large studio apartment in the hotel's annexe, about 80m from the main building.
Pros:

large room, well appointed, superb view of coast and mt Etna

Cons:

like all hotels in Taormina belvedere was very expensive, at least 30% more than any 5 star hotel I've stayed in, but HB is 4 stars. A beautiful hotel with great views but a very high price for staying in a fashionable and very touristy town

Where Guests Are Treated Like Family
Pros:

I have stayed in many hotels throughout my life. Some were more luxurious, larger, or more impressive in different ways, but what I experienced here was something I have never experienced anywhere else. After just three nights, I felt as if I were visiting close family members who had not seen me for a long time. I felt welcomed, appreciated, and genuinely cared for. That feeling cannot be created by beautiful interiors or luxury amenities – it comes from people. A special thank you to Marco at the reception and Rita in the dining room, whose warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality made me feel completely at home. Their smiles, attention, and care made all the difference. This hotel reminded me that there are still places in the world that are not your home, yet somehow make you feel as though they are. Thank you for that. I will return, not only because of the beautiful hotel and its wonderful location, but above all because of the people who give it its soul.

It was an amazing experience for me traveling alone for the first time. It was very luxurious and I wanted for nothing.
Pros:

It was absolutely gorgeous and my sweet had a balcony overlooking the sea. The gardens were amazing to walk-through and the location was great to walk into town.

Cons:

The breakfast were delicious and I could sit overlooking the sea and the gardens.

A special stay.
Pros:

Spent a week here for our tenth anniversary. We'd spent our honeymoon at the Belvedere and loved the hotel, and Taormina, so much we promised ourselves we would return for this milestone. We were not disappointed.

The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. On arrival, we were given a choice of two beautiful junior suites. We chose the more rustic suite that had three terraces and a sea view. Far, far more than we had expected. It was extremely spacious, had a quirky layout and was literally seconds from the breakfast room.

Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice including cereals, fruit, cold meats, pastries, cheeses, etc. Omelettes can be requested and are made fresh. As it was our anniversary, the staff surprised us with a specially baked cake one morning. It was a lovely touch and much appreciated.

It is a well located hotel. Turn left as you leave the hotel and within ten minutes you'll reach the main thoroughfare. There are restaurants and bars aplenty, as well as many shops to spend your money in. It is an expensive resort however.

Just seconds from the hotel is Trevalyn Park. It is lovely. It is full of fantastical follies and exotic plants (though maybe not exotic in Sicily). The temperature is notably lower in the park as well. It is easily my favourite park. I remembered it from our honeymoon and it was a joy to walk through it again. The ancient amphitheatre is about a ten to fifteen minute "climb" (I exaggerate) from the hotel. It is worth a visit though, for the glorious views alone. Castelmolla, the mountaintop village above Taormina, is also worth a visit.

We were sad to leave and got surprisingly emotional when saying our goodbyes. As I said, the staff had been exceptionally friendly and helpful. Even as we checked out, we were given a voucher for a free meal by the pool as we had a long wait for our transfer to arrive. That's two visits to the Belvedere we've had and thoroughly enjoyed both. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so special.

Best boutique hotel in Taormina
Pros:

My wife and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in Taormina. We could have stayed anywhere in Sicily, and after considerable research we chose Villa Belvedere because of its long family history, outstanding reputation, and intimate atmosphere. We selected one of the Rock Infinity Suites and it exceeded every expectation.

The suite offered breathtaking views from sunrise over the Bay of Naxos to sunset behind Mount Etna. The private terrace and outdoor shower made it difficult to leave the room, yet the hotel itself was only moments away and provided every service we could have wanted.

What truly sets Villa Belvedere apart, however, is its people. In more than 40 years of international travel, we have rarely encountered a team that was so warm, gracious, professional, and genuinely invested in making our stay memorable. Special thanks to Joshua, Rosanna, Adriana, and Marco, who helped coordinate everything from restaurant reservations to day trips and local recommendations.

Villa Belvedere delivers something increasingly rare: authentic hospitality. It feels less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into a beautiful Sicilian home. Our stay was flawless from beginning to end, and we left with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

My only hesitation in writing such a glowing review is selfish—I hope there will still be a room available when we return. And return we most certainly will.

Hidden gem. Loved it
Pros:

Great location. Old school charm. Comfortable room. Excellent staff. Really felt like home. Pool felt like the 1950’s. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again! Also, if you’re traveling with small kids, it is a three minute walk to the beautiful park and playground.
